We enjoyed our first visit to the Ozaukee County Fair. Though it is definitely geared toward children, we love to look at, watch and mingle amongst the steer, cows, pigs, chickens, ducks, rabbits, sheep and horses. We watched(what we believe was) a calf judging contest in a large barn-like area.(See my video). We enjoyed seeing all the teens(and younger) kids parading their animals with pride and joy. We went too early in the day too see any of the equestrian events, but did watch horses exercise and being put through their«paces,» practicing for events, in the two fenced rings. We enjoyed walking through the stable area that contained numerous paddocks with many horses, seemingly enjoying the attention they were receiving from us. There is one large hall with vendors of different household goods or services; very small selection in comparison to other fairs we’ve been to. The venue is filled with carnival type rides and various snack stands, none of which we tried. I definitely recommend this as a family outing, especially a great place to take your kids!

Of all the fairs around SE Wi, this is the best in my opinion. Good rides, operators, food is fairly priced, free popcorn & milk in the Farmer’s tent. Where else can you see demo derby about 30ft from your nose. Pray it doesn’t rain, or bring a poncho. Mud flies. For kids, great, safe, fun for all ages. It was kept in Cedarburg, even though the land its on is worth more as homes to keep it’s local feel. Stroll down to downtown within ¼mile too. Parking isn’t bad, you can find street, but they do have onsite parking too. I’ll be there probably every day, can’t beat dinner for 5 people for around $ 30.

The fair is THE place to be in Ozaukee county for early August public drinking. Be sure to catch the Ozaukee Idol competition!

I love county fairs and I love the Ozaukee County Fair from the demolition derby to 4-H projects(especially the knitting and photography) to the food. This fair held on the Cedarburg fair grounds is my favorite. It’s a smaller version of State Fair minus the cream puffs. Ozaukee and Cedarburg know how to throw a good Fair with everything right. This is also where they crown the Fairest of the Fair who rides in the Cedarburg Fourth of July Parade. Ahh, I miss the Ozaukee County Fair right now!!!
