As a «local» who spends a lot of time on the grand mesa we have seen several incarnations of the lodge’s management/ownership. At first I was encouraged by the new owners being a family that would be running the place and not someone who was«leasing» the property from the owner. With promises of a new menu and dependable operating hours I had high hopes. I knew there might be some growing pains as the family figured things out but the same old problems are still there. My first experience came during the summer time when the mesa is busy. They had run out of food and had a very limited menu by the time we went to eat at 7PM. again I thought just growing pains. I had family in town and had thought it would be nice to travel there for the Sunday polish dinner they offered on there menu. we got there walked in and after being told to go into the other room we where told that we would not be given menus and the«server» proceeded to tell us that«their food truck had f’ed up there order» and they didn’t have almost anything on the menu so he was going to tell us what they did have. after speedily rambling off a few things he left. this brings me to my other problem with the place. the staff has a very crude manor, not welcoming, and seem almost bothered when you come into there place of business. I understand that this is a hard place to make things be profitable with logistical problem and such but these things must be dealt with and overcome to make it work and being known as undependable and or rude is what has brought down all the others that came before and they seemed doomed to follow.

Be forewarned. This place charges you a 50% deposit for each night of lodging at the time the reservation is made. On the receipt for the deposit it says you will be charged the cancellation fee which is your deposit amount, if you don’t cancel 2 weeks in advance. Nowhere on their website does it mention the cancellation fee. Having made my reservation less than a week out, I had no recourse. You have been warned.

Just had a fantastic lunch. Wonderful fresh homemade polish food. Very nice people, family owned and operated. Worth the trip. Don’t forget Sunday night is Polish night.
