I wish I could put zero stars but this only allows you to put one. I walked into Pep Boys I was not acknowledged and I was not greeted. Roy the agent was just standing there. Another guy at the counter chatting up one of the mechanics while I was just waiting there after 5 minutes being ignored I walked out. I guess because I am black I was not important. I was there to get 4 tires for my car and tune up. This is poor service. I should have read the reviews before going there. I hope no one will experience this.

I have to say, when Luis was working here, I had a wonderful experience every time I went here. The last 2 times I’ve been in, they guys behind the counter haven’t been that helpful. They aren’t particularly friendly. I doubt I’ll go back even though the location is super convenient.

EDIT: New management finally took care of our issue. It would seem it was an issue with previous workers and managment. Carlos was amazing to work with and was so helpful and went above and beyond to help resolve the issue. I’ve increased the rating because they did give us the refund but it’s still so low because it happened in the first place. I’d be willing to go there with the new management in place now.
0 stars if I could. No one should EVER use pep boys. Months ago my bf was having car trouble and they were the closest mechanic so he took them there. They said it was a huge problem and said in order to just order the part they needed the work paid for. Not having a choice he paid. 2 hours later he got a second opinion and all they needed was to recoat some wired. So he called pep boys to get it refunded. First he was told they couldn’t. Then he went in and they said it would take a week but they couldn’t show him the cancellation of the work order since no work was done. OK cool. A week later charges were still there. He contacted them again and said there was no work order for them to refund. Lots of arguing later and it took about a month for the charge to be refunded. Well… just yesterday THEY CHARGED HIM AGAIN!!! His credit card is not willing to cancel or dispute the charge (also don’t get a Barclay card) easily. We’re reporting them to the better business bureau and plan on taking them to court if this isn’t resolved. They are scam artists and rip offs. Don’t go here.

I should have read all these reviews prior to my ever going of Pep Boys. I had a problem with my brakes so since I live in Celebration, it seemed the logical place to take my vehicle.
Bad decision on so many levels. First, they quoted a price of $ 1900 for the brake job. I called my wife to give her the news and she, of course, flipped out. She made some inquiries amongst her work colleagues and they all told her to have me leave immediately for any place but Pep Boys. However, my brakes were totally shot, so taking the vehicle elsewhere might have been dangerous. Anyway, while giving me a few minutes to ponder the brake job quote, I had the opportunity to phone Just Brakes and get a quote from them for exactly the same brake job. Guess what, it was about $ 1000. I gave my phone to the Pep Boys manager and had him talk to the Just Brakes tech and we agreed that Pep Boys would match the price.
Part of the big price difference was the upselling of far more expensive parts than the job ever required. Why they just arbitrarily put in the more expensive parts is the old saying «buyer beware». The other part was the surliness of some of the office staff when I kept making inquires as to how long it would take, why the difference in price, etc. There was no display of reasonable customer service and they certainly didn’t make me feel like I was a valued customer.
In fairness to them, after I sent a scathing email to their corporate office, the GM called me to discuss the situation. We just rehashed the experience, he apologized for the poor service and said that they have a policy to meet competitors pricing when that is made available.
Anyway, I’ve never been back. In now take my vehicles to a service place at the Loop. Great people, fair pricing and good work.

I’ve waited to write this review so I can get a second opinion on the issue with my car. I had a leak and took it to this location. I waited 3 hrs for them to figure out where it was coming from. After I asked 2 times what is taking so long they come to me with a total of $ 1700.00 to fix it. I laughed out loud and said no thanks and left. I have a 2009 Nissan altima and there is no way it cost that much when a brand new transmission for my car cost 2800. Anway I left took it to AAMCO and what a shock it only cost me $ 277.00 to fix the gasket with labor. These people are rip off artist and should be ashamed of themselves for trying to steal money from hard working people. My advice get a second opinion DO NOT PAY BEFORE GETTING A SECOND OR EVEN A THIRD OPINION.

Do not bring your car here! Brought my car here because they were open weekends. My wheel bearing needed to be replaced. It took them 5 long days. I paid for new parts that were in the front seat of my car because they didn’t listen to me when I told them I took the parts off and were in car. So they ordered the wrong parts that didn’t even need to be ordered. The manager Francisco is a large guy who will try to intimidate you by getting loud. Avoid this place at all cost. The manager is a rude worthless member of an awful staff. It’s been a month and corporate won’t return my calls. I recorded the incident and will be putting it on YouTube.

There should be more stars!
My family rode in, with our minivan clunking away. Francisco, the main man in the shop, was super polite, gathering chairs for my children and I. He even changed the movie, to a child friendly movie, so they’d be entertained. We were heading home, from the theme parks, when the van started smoking and eventually clunking. They found our hose to have gone bad, replaced it, and gave us an oil change, to replace the oil that had leaked out. I genuinely wish we could give a higher rating, as we were so above and beyond pleased, with how super the visit went. I know God will bless Francisco and his family, as he had blessed us, with such a lovely experience, at the shop.

The WORST customer service I have ever received from a car garage and any Pep Boys in the Orlando/​Kissimmee area. Called at 10am to ask to have an oil change, said they had no appointments but I could bring the car and leave it there for a few hours and they’d get it done… Turn up and Rich at the counter was the RUDEST man I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. Told me that that they couldn’t do it, and the person on the phone was incorrect… No apology, nothing. Just told me to go on my way. VERY disappointed. Do yourself a favor and go to a different car garage or a different pep boys. Please can I give 0 stars?

Went in for a conventional oil change, they had a coupon going on for $ 19.99. I was a little iffy on this shop due to reviews, but despite them I made an appointment anyway. Pulling into the lot I noticed a lot of cars, so I figured I was going to have to wait awhile. I went in and the front desk greeted me promptly. They let me know that it might be an hour and a half. Yikes! I waited anyway. They have TV and magazines available in the lobby. I probably only waited about 35 – 40 minutes, not too bad especially with the amount of vehicles they had to service. My service came to $ 24 and some change after tax, air filter, and shop charge. Not too shabby, Thanks Pep Boys!

This place is pretty awful, they told me to come back Tuesday for an oil change, it’s Saturday today…

Never again. I had to schedule an appointment 2 weeks in advance for something they told me would take an hour in a half turned out to be a 5 hour wait.

Major disappointment at Pep Boys Celebration, FL. 34 747.
I took the car in to have the clutch checked out because we could not get it to shift in gear. I ask for an estimate so I would have the worst case numbers. The estimate was $ 650.00. When I saw the mechanic test drive the car, I ask what was the issue. He said the clutch was good for 150K miles. It just needed fluid. I told him to add the fluids and would be back to pick up later.
When I came to pick up the car up the counter clerk presented me with a $ 1,000.00 bill. He said they replaced the entire clutch assembly because thats what we told them to do. My bill is now $ 1,000.00 vs: $ 22.00. I am not sure how this will end up… Hoping they do the right thing. I have filed a complaint with corporate Pep Boys and will learn more in 3 to 5 days. Caveat emptor — LET THE BUYER BEWARE — Lets hope they do the right thing.

I noticed that this place has a pretty bad overall rating. I figured I can help it out a little bit… not much though. I have come to this Pep boys a few times with my personal vehicle. Service is usually VERY slow, even when you call in ahead of time. I have dropped my car off for an oil change, only to pick it up and not have the oil change done. but many other things recommended. In their defense, it was an honest mistake. We also use this place for our fleet vehicles and never have an issue when dropping them off for service or maintenance. Prices are stupid high. but so is every other mechanic in Florida.

I would give zero stars, but you have to give SOMETHING, so there is one for my trouble.
I went in to get the headlight bulb changed on my ’04 Bug. I know the method behind changing the bulb. Pull the headlight release, pull out the lamp, replace the bulb, put back the lamp. I just don’t know where the release is and I needed a bulb, so I opted for Pep Boys because it was closer than my usual Tires Plus and I wanted to beat the sunset.
After a few minutes of rattling things under the hood around (after having figuring out how to open the hood…), the mechanic started retrieving tools. Wait… what? So I go inside where the incredibly rude clerk (manager?) tells me that to change the bulb, they have to remove the fender. I mentioned the release, but he was like, «No. You have to remove the fender and go in from underneath, and its $ 170 in labor.» For a HEADLIGHT BULB?!? Then he says he is «doing me a favor» by disconnecting the battery and trying to go in «by the airbag.» THE AIRBAG?!? Whenever I spoke, I may as well be mouthing the words for as good as he listened. You don’t remove the fender, there is a release switch! But, their computer must be programmed to scam people.
The mechanic gives up and reassembles my car and they send me on my way. I turn on the car and the EPC light is suddenly on. So I ask. I hear the clerk-​possibly-​manager mutter to the mechanic to «just reset the sensor.» Which he does and it, surprisingly, didn’t work. I ask again, and I am spoken to like a two year old as the guy tells me that it will «take a few cycles to reset.» Okay… so I restart again, and my check engine light has joined the dashboard party! I ask AGAIN, and he tells me that (again, in that condescending manner), that it will reset, too, and they «didn’t do anything except disconnect the battery» and «something must have been wrong before I came in.» I’m sorry, my car has been regularly taken care of since I got it brand new with 69 miles on it. The engine is mostly made of new parts. How was this my fault? I just wanted them to pull the headlight release switch, pull out the headlamp, and replace a bulb! How dare they blame me when my car was running beautifully when I came in.
Driving home, my car was on reserve power due to the lights being on and would shake if I tried to go faster then 45 mph. I apologize to the upset drivers behind me in the 55 speed limit zone as I tried to make it home in frustrated tears.
NEVER going here again! «Cars like us, people love us»? Yeah… I disproved both. Just because I’m a girl who looks young (news flash, I’m 30 and not naïve), it doesn’t mean you can take advantage!
tl;dr: Went to have them replace a headlight bulb, left with the EPC and check engine lights on. Was told it was my fault. Still have a burnt out headlight.
Update: Now the battery is totally dead. Car starts, then stops. Good thing I’m taking it to a proper mechanic today!

I live locally and needed an oil change on my Honda Fit. Typically I would go to my Honda service center but my oil level was extremely low. I was aware of the poor reviews at this location but was in desperate need… it’s an oil change, what could go wrong with a late-​model car in otherwise perfect working order?
I made an appointment just after New Year’s. Extremely ill, but needing to get this done, I took the vehicle in only to be informed (at about 10am when I arrived) that I might not get my car back until the next day! Supposedly several mechanics had called out. No one called me in advance to let me know. I do not normally get days off to get services like this done. I complained to the manager about this customer service issue and he offered me a free oil change at a later date of my choice.
About a month ago I took him up on his offer. The service was done in a timely manner and I was on my way. Yesterday, however, I noticed that my engine oil pressure warning light flickered twice on my way home. I checked the oil dipstick to find it bone dry! THERE WAS NO OIL IN MY CAR! I had to tow my car to a Honda service center where I am now waiting to see if it was simply underfilled or something worse. This review will be updated once the issue is known. UPDATE: The filter that was used in my oil change was visibly crushed and caused all of the oil in my car to leak out. Mechanics at Honda confirmed there was no oil left in my car.
Bottom line: don’t bother with these guys, even if you need help fast. Guaranteed the moment I can drive my car again, my first stop will be their shop to show them just how unhappy I am in person, had this been left unchecked my car would have been permanently damaged because of a stupid filter. Don’t let them scam you!!!

I went here because at the time, I lived in Celebration. All I needed was a replacement tire put on. I sat for over an hour with no one approaching me to update me. I asked the men at the counter (I interrupted the movie they were watching) only to find out my car wasn’t even in the bay yet. After another 45 minutes, I was shown the bad tire I had and advised to put two on and add an alignment. After asking three times for the price for just one tire, the gentleman shaking his head and sighing eventually told me the price. I said to go ahead with the one tire for now and waited for another 30 minutes. They did not tell me my car was ready, I had go to the counter and ask. My car was outside waiting for who knows how long. Not to mention that the lady behind the counter was smoking indoors while I was waiting.
I have worked in hospitality for over ten years so I know customer service. Their tone and speaking was professional, their customer service was horrible. I beleive in constructive criticism. If a guest is waiting for 30 – 60 min, approach them just to give an update. People like to know that they haven’t been forgotten. Also understand that spending money on car repairs is not fun and that people have limited funds to spend. The worker huffing and puffing because I couldn’t spend $ 400 is rude and unprofessional. I have a family owned garage I can go to from now on.

Before I moved to Florida, I had never been to a Pep Boys. However, once I started using them, I never shifted. They are very timely, knowledgeable, and care about their consumer.
I had a situation with my car which they quoted me at $ 3,000. Instead insisting I do it with them, they suggested since my car was new enough it might still be in warranty with the dealership. Sure enough, it was.

I went to this location (09÷12÷14) despite being warned by co-​workers that they have had bad experiences. My vehicle has been having an ongoing issue that I was told by another mechanic was the alternator. After first being told they would have to keep the car over night they finally took a look at it (and charged me $ 52 for diagnostic testing) and came back to say it was the starter. I told them to go ahead and replace it. 3 hours and $ 400 later I was told that the car was unsafe to drive and needed an air mass sensor and an ignition coil as well which would be another $ 600 not including labor. The car drives worse now than it did when I took it in.
The staff was very nice and friendly but it seems like I was taken advantage of. I am taking it to another mechanic for a second opinion before I have any other work done.

I really have tried to make this Pep Boys work for me. I have been here several times because of its proximity to my home, but that is about it. It seems like every time I come here, they try to up sell or scam you.
Example 1: I had to get new brakes installed on my Honda. After the brakes were installed, they started to squeak. Well I thought that was somewhat normal, but then it continued. I called Pep Boys and was told it was normal. 2 weeks of it still squeaking I brought it to a Honda dealership. They told me the reason it squeaked was because Honda brakes were not used. I called Pep Boys back and they ensured me that they used «Genuine Honda Pads», although could not produce any evidence.
There are a few others that have occurred since then, but I just don’t want to waist the time writing about these guys anymore. The bottom line is that they overcharge, use cheap materials and have terrible customer service. I would say only come here if you are really desperate.
