I normally don’t review grocery stores but I found this Albertsons to be way beyond average. Every time I shop here there are very friendly people and they are willing to help and I like the fact that there are no self checkouts. Actual friendly humans working behind a cash register! They have a good selection of meats and a lot of good sales. Buy 1 and get 2 free is a pretty sweet deal and they have family packs of meat at good prices. I also like their seafood counter it’s always been good seafood. The bakery is also great and they have fresh products all the time. This is one of the cleanest stores that I have been to and I will always go to Albertsons for all my groceries even if some items are a little higher than others overall it’s a good shopping experience. I would rather spend my money here than go anywhere else.

Overall, Albertson’s is probably my least favorite of the major grocery stores around Denver(in comparison to Safeway and King Sooper’s), but this location A) isn’t so bad and B) is the location with a liquor license, and one-stop shopping is convenient. Actually, the meat section is pretty decent, although the fish/seafood leaves something to be desired, and their bakery has a good selection of breads for a reasonable price. Their produce is usually okay, although I prefer King Soopers’ most of the time. Prices tend to be low, which I appreciate. The checkers are friendly. I try to go to other grocery stores most of the time, but if I just need to pick up a few things, I want to buy a bottle of wine on the same trip, or I want to get groceries on my way back from PetsMart or in one stop along with PetCo, I often wind up here.

I am constantly jumping from grocery store to grocery store. One place has good meat, another good dairy, another for produce. Its exhausting. Out of frustration I decided to give Albertsons a try and man I was surprised. In my mind Albertsons was only known for having stores that are always closing. So I thought this place would be run down and have a poor outdated selection. This was not the case at all. The store is huge. The produce section is of a good size and was fresh, cheap, and offered a really good selection. I was pleasantly surprised and was filling up bags left and right. This grocery store also has a liquor license which is a welcome change. They even have a build your own six pack! Throughout the aisles you will find the standard fare tidily organized like you’d expect anywhere else. However Albertson’s stood out in that there were various ethnic products tucked in here and there. For example I was able to find quite a range of Goya products including a jar of sofrito which I cooked some chicken in. The meat section was average meaning its what you’d find at any of the other chain grocery stores. If I had to knock this Albertson’s for anything in their selection of products it’d be their dairy. I found their choice of eggs and milk to be lacking but that was the only disappointment. I like cage free eggs and I like them to be under $ 2.99. I also enjoy quality milk so I still head over to Whole Foods to grab Farm Fresh milk.

So here’s a funny review, in that it’s based on a random candy run I made this past weekend. The store is a good size-it’s got everything you need but it’s not giant. Straight up, their candy selection is some of the best I’ve seen. Lots of stand-bys and lots of tasty new stuff too. No self check-outs, but the cashier I had was super friendly and chatty. If you need to make a grocery run around here, you can’t go wrong with this place.

Albertsons goes not get enough credit. I like going to this Albertsons because it is not to big but not to small. It had all the item’s I need and good deals, plus i don’t need a card to get the deals. King soopers are always crowded and sometimes to big. When i need just a few items I want to just run in and out. Sometimes it seems like the groceries I get at Albertsons would cost more at Kings. Plus they have a pretty super liquor area inside now which is convenient. i like their bakery and the employees are always helpful.

Good review Dave! You are right, pricing is hit or miss. Any given week there are good prices on some items, while others are clearly not. This forces me as many others to do our shopping at different retailers like King Soopers to get good deals. This store is not quite on the trend of giving the Deli a more relevant role. The produce section has an abandoned feeling, it is always empty! Employees are mostly friendly, I can’t complain. They are willing to open another check-stand if lines start to get long.

The Albertson’s store on University and Dry Creek in Centennial is where I do most of the grocery shopping. The store has a lot of positive attributes but also falls short in some areas. On the positive side the store is always very clean, well stocked, and well organized. I never see piles of expired groceries sitting around in shopping carts, disorganized shelves, or fingerprints all over everything. There is a Savon Pharmacy in the store and they also recently added a liquor department. Those are the main reasons I continue to shop here — along with the convenient location. However, the store has an outdated feel in a few ways. There are no self checkout lanes, and the already prepared meals is pretty much limited to fried chicken and roasted chicken. There is no salad bar either. Also, the style of grocery carts they have are the old metal ones, and sometimes the lights in the sign out front are burned out — a bad first impression. The in-store bank recently closed, leaving a big, vacant hole. Pricing at Albertson’s is hit or miss. Sometimes I find some good sales on things I need. But some items carry regular prices that seem high(a box of crackers for $ 3.39?) The checkout lanes are generally pretty quick, but that’s mostly because there are so few customers in line. I recommend the store if it’s convenient for you but wouldn’t drive miles out of my way to shop here.
