Shanghai is great! For Chinese-American style food this is probably as good as it gets. The service has always been excellent for our visits, and the food/portion size is outstanding. Highly recommended for this area of town.

I grew up with my parents owning a Chinese restaurant so when it comes to Chinese American food, I’m very picky! Shanghai garden has some of the best sesame chicken/beef I’ve had! The rest of their food is way better than any of the other Chinese American restaurants out there for sure! Much more flavor and actually tastes good! I recommend this place and don’t forget to order your sesame chicken!

The food here was really good, and among the best I’ve had. In particular, the Sesame Chicken was delicious. It had a perfect amount of crisp to it, and the chicken really tasted fresh. The reason I’m giving this place 3 stars is because we called to order pickup, and it took an hour and a half between placing our order and when it was finally ready. Granted, this was on New Years Day, and the girl on the phone warned us it would take an hour, but I didn’t appreciated waiting at the bar for another 30 minutes and not being offered any compensation. Not sure if we’ll be back.

Food seems to be decent enough but the last three times we’ve ordered(office takeout) they’ve not included either all or part of my order. So it’s kinda hard to evaluate the food. Either way, won’t be back! Frustrating to have takeout forgotten. And 3 times in a row?!

3 stars for service. I stood there asking to do a take out at the bar and waited and waited… The staff just looked at me and didn’t even say I’ll be right with you or someone will be… Just stared as I said I like to place a to go order… Ugh! Then finally got someone to help me and ordered. I was told 15 minutes for my 3 orders of egg rolls to go and waited over 30 – 40 minutes. I was late to my party. Another woman placed in a take out over the phone 45 minutes before me and waited with me for 30 minutes for her order… So maybe they were swamped in the kitchen but both of us were definitely not pleased The family I brought the egg rolls to loved them and they tasted great so 4 stars for food flavor but service wise… I wouldn’t be back Egg rolls are egg rolls to me and not worth the rude people and wait :(

They say you can always judge a good American Chinese restaurant by the Sesame chicken, well this place does it right. The chicken perfectly fried and the sauce was sweet enough. The owner seems to know a lot of the regulars so it makes it a little more neighbor friendly.

I really LOVE this place! I’m very picky when it comes to Chinese Food and when my favorite place closed recently I had to find a new place. After researching all the places in the area I found this place. I have enjoyed all meals i have gotten here. I am a little disappointed that brown rice is extra… I always get brown rice and there is an extra charge. Other than that no complaints!

We decided to try this out and were very pleased. We started with the chicken wings appetizer and they were juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside with excellent flavor. The hot and sour soup was probably some of the best that we have had in the Denver area. For our entrees, we ordered the Beef in Garlic Sauce and went off the menu and got the Firecracker Shrimp. Both of these were excellent and we were surprised at the quantity and size of the shrimp. We also had some complementary hot tea, which was also outstanding. Ciu was our server and she was especially pleasant and we enjoyed talking with her. We will definitely be back.

I should first say that Chinese isn’t ever my first choice… but my grandma loves it so we came. It was good, nothing to rave about. The restaurant is located in a strip mall with plenty of parking. They were fairly busy around 3pm which says something…

It’s hard to find really good Chinese take out that satisfies your craving. So far this has been the closest we’ve found. The food is always consistent and satisfies our craving. We usually get the sampler appetizer platter and combination kungpao.

We had lunch here today and had an all around wonderful experience! It’s in an older shopping complex but the restaurant is very nice and clean inside. We got the firecracker chicken, the sesame chicken and the chicken lo mein(for our toddler) with an appetizer of cheese wontons. All of the food was excellent! We also had the egg drop and hot and sour soup; both were some of the best we have ever had. The service was excellent too. They were very sweet and helpful to our toddler and all around very attentive to the needs of the whole table. I would definitely recommend it and will absolutely be coming back.

Shanghai Garden isn’t much different than other Asian restaurants in Colorado(they all tend to be similar), but they are a notch above most. First, the atmosphere is pleasant. The décor is quite nice, the tables and interior clean, and wait staff friendly. The menus are high quality and don’t look beat up and sticky. They’re clearly labeled with simple, understandable descriptions of the meals. We went around 5:00 on a Monday night, and they were nearly empty, but at least it was very quiet. We were promptly greeted and sat, and we were able to get our drinks and order in no time. Our waitress was very attentive, and even brought out fried wonton strips for our kids to much on while they waited. Our meal included soups, which arrived within minutes of ordering. Almost the moment our soups were finished, the meals arrived. I had the General Tso’s Chicken which was fantastic. The sauce tasted great, sweet and spicy, and the breaded chicken was crispy, not soggy. Inside was tender white meat chunks, not dark meat or processed nuggets. The fried rice also tasted great, although it didn’t have any egg or peas and carrots like some other restaurants do. Still, it was great tasting food overall. My kids got Shrimp Chow Mein, which they split(why don’t Asian restaurants have kids’ menus?) and got the soft chow mein noodles, which they loved. My kids don’t usually like anything that isn’t Mac n’ Cheese, so if they liked it, it must be good. My wife got the Kung Pao Beef, which she also wholeheartedly endorsed. All of our food tasted hot, fresh, and made from quality ingredients. One thing to note is that the prices are a little bit more expensive than other Asian restaurants. Their prices are about $ 3 more per dish than their counterparts, but since the quality is better, it makes sense. Overall I’d highly recommend trying Shanghai Garden.

While visiting my son in the Denver area, we were searching for a good Chinese restaurant. Well, you did not steer me wrong Unilocalers. This nondescript strip center location was deceiving. Once inside, this was a lovely little restaurant. We were immediately seated in a booth and our drink orders were taken. Brought to the table were crispy wonton strips, a small bowl of sweet-and-sour sauce and a small bowl of hot mustard. What a great touch. I used to have this initial surprise at the Chinese restaurant I went to growing up. I won’t tell you how long ago that was. The menu is perfectly long — meaning there wasn’t so much that you couldn’t make a decision nor was there too little to not satisfy everybody. We decided on the cream cheese wontons for an appetizer. These decadent crispy morsels with the creamy cream cheese filling were delicious. My son ordered the sesame chicken and I ordered the Mu shu pork. Neither disappointed. Service was attentive and polite. I will come back again the next time I visit.

Pretty good chow for the area. The dining area is pretty nice for being a part of a strip mall. Good ambiance. Had the wonton soup and firecracker chicken. Gf had the General Tso. Both were pretty good. If you’re looking for a good Chinese joint that’s a safe bet and has good food, this is it.

Decided to give them a try, bad decision! First we were not greeted when we arrived, when finally we were the person didn’t act like they were glad we were there. We waited 10 – 15 minutes with no one waiting on us. Then some one went past our table and waited on a group that had just arrived. We got up and left at that, then someone said hi. The place was busy, but will not ever have my business.

This was a delightful place! The staff was very kind and attentive-my water glass was never empty, the soup came out shortly after I ordered and the sesame chicken shortly after I finished the soup. I was there for lunch so the meal included entrée, rice, soup, and egg roll and all of it was very good. I would not hesitate to go back.

I’m definitely a fan of Shanghai Garden. This is my go to place for Ameri-Chinese while at work. The service is prompt, the restaurant is very clean and the food is hot and delicious. I’m particularly a fan of the hot & sour soup and I usually never care for it almost anywhere else.

I can’t believe I never updated this to five stars. Sorry for the oversight, Shanghai Garden! The food here is consistently great, and seems how we’re there(usually for takeout) at least once a week, I think they deserve five stars. My husband and I really never have had a bad meal here– egg foo young, emperor’s chicken, Mongolian beef, Szechuan beef, kung pao anything, Hunan anything, Mandarin noodles– all delicious. I had orange peel shrimp for dinner last night; it’s probably my favorite Americanized Chinese entrée, and they were the best orange peel shrimp I’ve ever had. The egg rolls have markedly improved; for some reason the dinner ones are different from lunch, but the dinner variety are some of the best we’ve ever had. Crab wontons are delicious as well. Service is great, both for takeout and dining in, and the restaurant is actually quite nice inside. And you really can’t beat the value– we get out of Shanghai Garden for under 2⁄3 of the price of P.F. Chang’s, and for an arguably better meal. Funny that two of our favorite restaurants(this place and Land of Sushi) are across the parking lot from each other in a Centennial strip mall. Highly recommended!
