Pathmark

What a disgusting old decrepit store I can’t believe it’s still here.
Place looks like it’s from 1950 and they haven’t done a thing to it since not even clean it. Parking lot is disgusting I mean honestly there’s nothing I could say that’s even remotely good about this place.

Foraging for food in the zombie suburban apocalypse of Long Island.
Living in NYC we do have supermarkets but due to lack of space most of them are on the small side, cramped, and claustrophobic as compared to those out in suburbia.
This Pathmark is a pretty large store. They have everything here you can ask for! Big, bright, clean, organized. Full service deli. A ton of items on the shelves. A lot of checkout counters and even some self checkout stations. Had no problem finding what I needed after help from the staff pointing me in the right direction. Supermarkets this size confuse me now.
Large enough parking lot with plenty of spots. Shopping carts here also have cup holders built in! So winning, especially when you have that ventimegasupersizedhumongo cup of coffee powering you through your shopping excursion.
It was not crowded at all when I was here in the middle of the day last week. Still, I would never live in the scary suburbs. Been there, done that. I’ll stick with crazy crowded Fairway or Trader Joes in Manhattan!

I stopped here after dropping the kids at the mall. I needed to pick up something quick in order to feed 4 teenagers in the morning. I grew up in Centereach, so I was fairly familiar with it. It was huge, as I remember. I quickly grabbed my bagels and cakes and ran to a line that was an express self checkout. I was glad to see that as I really did not want to wait, I did have my dog in the car. It was fast and simple and I was out of there in less than 10 minutes. I will say that I am still fairly close to centereach (my home town) and my sister still lives there. It has changed though. Very over crowded, Middle Country Road is a nightmare and the people of Centereach seem a little different than when I lived there. Not sure if that is such a good thing, just an observation.

Strange crowd, poor grocery.
I usually shop here because it’s up the road from my house and they closed down both Waldbaums. The staff has a good attitude other than a few of the strange people that work there.
One of the positives is that Pathmark has really good prices and great sales. In this particular store I have very bad luck with the grocery section. Everything always seems to e dirty and have lots of bug so be extra careful to check and rinse well.
There must be something up with the water in Centereach because some of the wackiest people shop at this place.
If strange people bother you then you might want to venture into another area. If you like to be amused by circus side show acts this is a great place to do some after dinner shopping.

Figured this grocer was worth a review since they are the only thing open very late seven days a week in the area, if you are in need of supplies. It has saved me a few times when there was no other options.
