So in love with Four Seas that we served them at our Cape Cod wedding. Can never go wrong with some Centerville Pie Company and Four Seas VANILLA!

Four Seas is a 2 minute drive from my house & I still never go despite that I always loved it as a kid. I stopped in with my boyfriend who has previously told me he has never been able to tell the different between ice cream from a real ice cream place & ice cream from a tub out of the frozen food section at the grocery store. I got cookie dough and he had the mocha chip. I happily relived my childhood and he doesn’t say he can’t tell the difference between ice cream anymore. Be advised that it is cash only and you have to be aggressive at the counter so you don’t get skipped over.

Cute little ice cream place. I had been wanting to go here for years, but just never stopped. The atmosphere and history is awesome. We went there after Labor Day in September and they were only scooping 12 flavors out of over 24 they have. They rotate the 12 different flavors they scoop between Labor Day and Columbus Day. This was disappointing. There was also construction going on inside, which took away from the atmosphere too. They were not serving food or drinks either. We had cookie dough and mocha chip ice cream. The cookie dough lacked a lot of cookie dough pieces, but had good solid flavor. The mocha chip was excellent. Overall, the experience was not that wonderful, mainly because it was after Labor Day. I understand that business slows down after Labor Day, but for the customers that do go, it is a disappointment. Either close completely or give it 100%.

Another TV show recommended stop. Good ice cream. I’ve had better but it’s up there.

Not impressed at all. The flavors were just standard with the exception of the fresh fruit flavors. Tried the peach, it was good but nothing to write home about. The cookie dough tasted really weird, like something was wrong so I didn’t finish that scoop. And the waffle was just a generic mass produced one. I’d rather have bought some hagen dasz

Not what I remembered. Good mouthfeel, ok flavor, something was off, in particular the high school kids tending to their high school friends at the counter, with not a lot of interest in the people they were waiting on. Too bad. Used to be better ice cream and better service.

You would not believe me if I told you on a Monday night in Mid-August a crowd of about 100 people waited for ice cream, would you? Well, see for yourself @ Four Seas. We went on a rainy night around 10pm and maybe 20 people were in line, the line moved fast and we forked over some cash to the adorably young boy(seriously he could not have been older than 12!) and we got some delicious ice cream cones. I always get peppermint stick and it was very good! If I am in the area again, I will definitely go to Four Seas! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Dear Four Seas, Come to NYC, please. In fact, I’ll start up your store. My parents introduced me to you when I was about 10 pounds. Many pounds later(thanks to ice cream), I am now unemployed and on a tri-state trip to find the best ice cream. Kinda like the job search, I haven’t had much luck. No ice cream place measures up to you. I’m thinking of driving the 4 hours up there this weekend just to get a black and white soda. And your hot fudge sauce– that stuff needs to be bottled up and sold worldwide. People here don’t know good ice cream. You can sell it for a fortune here all while teaching people what truly good ice cream is. These New Yorkers need to be educated, seriously — you should see the long lines people wait on at these so-called ‘ice cream’ places. How you only have 4 stars on here is beyond me. Thanks, –Loyal customer since the good olé’ 70s before I could talk.

Pretty solid. I’d put the coconut right up there with Mitchell’s in San Francisco and that’s saying something. Tried the Butter Chip and Ginger too, less enthusiastic about the Ginger. All were creamy and cold, perfect for after a day at the beach. Kids behind the counter were friendly, there’s an ATM on site because they’re cash only.

I know the locals rant and rave about this ice cream– so we had to stop and try. Not really a fan. The chocolate chip cookie dough I got, tasted so much like frosting it was kind of gaggy, also the employees serving you were not the friendliest. They pretty much just scream out to the crowd«whose next» instead of just addressing the next person in line. You also can’t get two flavors– like I wanted a scoop of choc chip cookie dough and vanilla and that was not allowed. Suggestion: try Gone Chocolate on Main St in Osterville– creamy and way more ice cream for your $$ & they treat you like a real customer!

Terrible service and tons of chaos. Chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream has cookie dough in it right? Not here it doesn’t, never coming back.

HAPPY400THREVIEWTOME!!! This ice cream place used to be my favorite on Cape Cod, but due to location and my last experience, I may not come here every year when we do our annual visit. Location is strange, pretty much isolated from all of the highways and main roads, very difficult to navigate at night. The lines are usually huge, at least 15 minutes to get inside. My last visit, a few days ago, was underwhelming. I used to enjoy each of their flavors and the inviting atmosphere. It just felt dark when we went, lacking its Four Seas atmosphere. There was NO line, you could just walk right in at 8:00 at night. Prices aren’t horrible, actually pretty cheap for Cape Cod. Portions were very small when we went, where a medium should have been a small and a large should have been a medium. This one experience lost a star from my rating, but this is a very solid ice cream place.

Great little ice cream shop serving the Cape Cod region, and I went during the weekdays, it was pretty crowded, the parking lot was packed and the line was out the door, so we knew we had to stop by and try this place out. They have so many different flavors to try. I got the coconut flavor and a Coke Float with chocolate ice cream. The sodas are old fashioned sodas, so they taste smooth and creamy with the ice cream. Prices are reasonable, and you do get what you pay for. It’s made fresh, they do the works in front of you, and the place has an authentic ice cream parlor feel and vibe to it. The teenagers who work there also know what they’re doing, but it doesn’t bother to smile once in a while, I get that you’re busy but a smile go a long way in this business. Definitely a place worth checking out!

Great ice cream. Super fresh. Extremely busy all the time in the summer. Somewhat chaotic and kind of tricky with kids because it is basically on the street. So be careful with kids. The line extends outside many times and cars seem to fly by here. As far as the ice cream goes, it’s really really good. Would be nice if they had a place for outdoor seating.

I was on the Cape for a weekend and had the pleasure of stopping by Four Seas for an afternoon ice cream treat! I got the almond joy sundae — coconut ice cream, hot fudge, and almonds. The sundae was delicious but the ice cream tasted a bit too icy for my preference. The line was confusing — more just different groups of people so it was difficult to determine order. I thought that the sundae was dollar overpriced and was cash only. Overall a fun experience but would rather make my own sundaes at home!

As a Cape Codder for 21 Years I have always been a Sundae School Veteran, however my friends from school raved about Four Seas Ice Cream. Because, I decided to give it a go. After visiting on quiet night with lots of fast service, I have to say I am completely unimpressed with this establishment. The inside was rather dirty and the floor was slanted and disleveled(making it a huge danger zone for children and the elderly). The ice cream was good, but it was nothing to tell your friend about. 4 Seas proudly frames all their honors and awards on the wall(all of which I don’t understand how they won). I would rather drive 45 minutes to Sundae School than come here for ice cream, heck I would rather save my money and get a chocolate vanilla twist at the nearest McDonald’s than visit here again. #TouristTrap

It feels like you’re walking into a little piece of history when you visit Four Seas. Lines can be around the block on a hot summer night, and rumor has it Jackie O frequented this place often. Tons of flavors for you to choose from for a cup, cone or packed in a pint to go. There is a counter to sit and eat at, or tables too. The place is old and very popular, so it can get disorganized in a crowd due to lack of real line(queue) or cash register area. I highly recommend the sundae, as the fudge was so decadent and I even added a cookie to mine, making it absolutely heavenly.

Seriously the best ice cream I’ve ever had in my life. The place is the definition of nostalgia, a vintage fountain shop that hasn’t changed a bit. Yes, it is crowded regardless of the time of day but it is worth the wait tenfold. I’m telling you, the creamiest most delicious bowl of heaven I’ve ever been treated to. I’m just glad Four Seas isn’t close to home, otherwise I might take home a pint a night.

Four Seas has set sail for me. I was extremely disappointed after my first – and last – visit to this cramped shop, especially after reading all of its positive reviews. In my opinion, this place seems like it’s going on reputation and with lack of other options in the area, though it’s near the beach. My friend and I stepped into a small counter area connected to a somewhat larger but still small restaurant, the entire area hot and too enclosed to be comfortable. T-shirts and other memorabilia clutter the already too confined space. It’s a really worn down building. We grabbed a couple of stools at the counter, then tried the vanilla chai and coffee flavors. The chai was good, but a little too sweet to have a lot of. The coffee was really bland, with almost no flavor. We still wanted to give Four Seas a try, though, after reading its praises. We ordered a strawberry ice cream cone and a thick coffee frappé. The strawberry was dripping everywhere, including over and down the cone onto my friend’s hand. The ice cream didn’t even seem to be hard when scooped right out of the case.(Maybe a refrigeration problem?) The scoop was eaten quickly out of fear that it would go everywhere. The flavor was also bland like the coffee, despite its name«fresh strawberry,» and didn’t even look like strawberry ice cream as it was kind of grayish with flecks in it. The frappé took a few minutes to make and the server making it didn’t seem too confident. He asked me if I wanted it with or without syrup. I said however it’s typically made at Four Seas and to make it thick. He said with and I approved, remembering the blandness of the ice cream itself. With my friend almost done with her cone, I finally got my frappé. It was mostly milk with little coffee flavor, hardly thick at all. The server re-made it, and I asked him to make it really thick, but the second one was not good either, still thicker milk consistency and with little flavor. I ended up throwing it out outside. It was horrible. The staff was pleasant and nice enough, mostly young teenagers running behind the counter and through the kitchen door. However, their kindness will not bring me back after my first visit to Four Seas, as the ice cream served didn’t prove to be a high wave of success. My advice: don’t go to Four Seas. High prices, bland ice cream, and milky frappes don’t cut it, even if the servers are nice and it’s a short walk to the beach.
