It’s been a tradition in our family for the last 10 years or so to go to One of A Kind for lunch when we’re visiting family at Lake Thunderhead. Our favorite meal is the chicken salad on a croissant and side salad with homemade lemon poppy seed dressing. Both are excellent and always one of the highlights of our visits to the area.
The owner is a darling woman and the B&B is charming. We also like looking through the first floor shop area and usually find something special to take home.

We are very glad we chose to stay here. It was a unique experience and our host was excellent. She took the time to chat with us about area history as well. We stayed here to kick off our weekend getaway at Rathbun Lake where only agenda item was to rest and relax. We definitely accomplished that here! We’re hoping to be back someday.
