Ms T and stopped at Tuscany kind of by accident while on our way to Rathbun for bald eagle watching. I intended to take her to George and Nicks only to discover that they are only open in the evening. It turns out that Tuscany is right next door. We saw the sign for home made tenderloins in the window and decided that sounded good. We did not even know the name of the place until we saw the menu. So I automatically ordered the tenderloin and Ms T ordered a fish sandwich. Both were somewhat disappointing. It’s no surprise to me that the fish was a commercial brick of fused fish. It was underdone and wet in the middle. It is what it is, pre-fabbed fish. My tenderloin was in the Frisbee class(see the photo). I cut the Frisbee in half and folded one of the halves to double it and ate that on the bun. The meat was machine processed thin, but I have had thinner. The issue(once again) is that even doubled, I absolutely could not taste the pork. It is served with lettuce, tomato and a pickle wedge. In the world of breaded tenderloins, you can’t get better than three stars for the over tenderized Frisbee class. Even then they have to have some flavor. At least it was not fabricated meat, but it was so tenderized, it was close. With no pork taste, they are stuck with two stars. This restaurant is most likely better than this for their other food. I am rating the tenderloin.

We happened to be in town for a family gathering. Tuscany was recommended by our hotel front desk staff. The place has a Tuscany-themed-ish décor. It actually looked pretty nice; otherwise, nothing too fancy. The food was good. Really good. Nice presentation, tasty(I had a bacon omelet w/string potatoes,) and very, very affordable. I didn’t have the chance to try out any other items or the lunch/dinner menu, but speaking for breakfast, it is a very safe bet.
