Wow I had no idea there was a bakery in the market. They have mango cake and mango bars. They also have some other good stuff but let’s stick to the mango.

I got my brother his favorite birthday cake from here, only to open the box and see this… The girl who wrote the happy birthday message thought it would be a good idea to pipe on the surface of the cake, which is uneven… Because of that, all the letters got messed up. I felt embarassed presenting this to my brother…

It’s my first time trying philippino pastries. I was exploring the market and came upon this bakery. I tried the ube mamon(purple yam sponge cake). Originally I wanted to try a slice of the ube cake but they didn’t have any available today. The ube mamon was super moist and not too sweet. Next time I want to come back to try the ube cake and mango cake!

I never used to have a problem with this chain but they pissed me off today. My Mom made a PHONE order this morning for pick up in the afternoon and when we went to pick it up, they didn’t have the order and asked if it was already paid for. Uhm, hello? It’s a phone order. We’d pay for it when we pick it up, obviously. Then next thing you know they«found» the order behind all the other orders and they haven’t prepared the order yet. I know it’s busy especially during this time of the year but that’s why management and organization is KEY so problems like these can be avoided.

«Happy Birthday to you Happy Birthday to you Happy Birthday dear Mommy/Pa Happy Birthday love you.» Whenever my parents birthday comes around you can be sure there will be a cake from Red Ribbon. We’ve been purchasing cakes here for the last 12 years since they were at their old location off South St(they are now located inside Seafood City). Why here? They have flavors such as mango, ube, cocobut and use to have a cake that had all the flavors! These cake are moist, tasty but not to sweet, and practically melts in your mouth. The best cake ever with just the right amount of sweetness for my Mommy and Pa. They also have other awesome flavors such as sansrival(hard, rice crispiyish type of cake) and chocolate mocha crunch cake which my friends sometimes get for me(^_^) and k get a slice of when I come. I like to get the buttery momons whenever we have a meeting at the office so I can kiss butt. LOL jk. My boss brings it to bribe us. Jk again. But these are often at our meetings and Idk who brings them but thank goodness for Filipino coworkers(^_*) If you don’t need or crave cake they also have some Filipino dishes and lunch specials. They have dishes su ch as palabok, pancit, chicken/beef empenadas and more. They even have our favorite dessert halo halo. yummmy! Most people in the area know what halo halo is but just in case«It is a mixture of sweet preserved red beans, chick peas, coconut meat(macapuno), jackfruit(langka), pounded dried rice(pinipig), sweet purple yam(ube), cream caramel flan(leche flan), shreds of sweetened plantain(saba), lots of shaved or crushed ice, milk(or coconut milk) and topped with ice cream(typically ube ice cream)» So if you’re looking for some cake or achin’ for some Filipino dishes drop on by(^_^)

What is there not to like about Red Ribbon? I came in here looking for one thing and left with six. The mango cake is great. So is their ube cake. The taisan is delicious too. Also all of their mamon is good. ube mamon, butter mamon, and mocha mamon. Maybe even the cheese one. The halo halo is a little too sweet but it’s good too.

Red Ribbon Red Ribbon Send Pan de sal Right over This particular location is a smaller location and it is located inside the Seafood City market. It offers a few hot food items, full bakery and some prepackaged items. Perfect for merienda. Service is fast and friendly. I just wish they offered more, like other locations. The chicken empanadas are good here, but in the evening hours the display case is usually empty. But lets get real. Buy the pandesal. Take it home, slice them down the middle, butter them up and add sugar. Lots of it. Then toast them up. Or serve it up with some corn beef. But honestly, I always grab a few packs and take it to my side of the family dinners, holidays, ect. They love them. When I bring it to the husbands side, he laughs at me.

Red Ribbon has many different pastries but what I love is the soft, fluffy, buttery Mamon. Yes I love the chocolate brownies. Yes I love how clean and presentable it is. Yes I love the friendly service This restaurant in inside a Seafood City, so if you need a restroom ask the store. Parking is awesome and many places selling Filipino food are in this plaza. The song parody below is in Spanish. It basically recounts my love for this Filipino Pastry, how I miss it, how I want to taste it soon. If anyone would like a translation, I would be happy to do so.

Mmmmmmmm! Delicious baked goods! Fine tasting cakes and one of the best empanadas I have tasted. My kids are picky yet they love and demand the empanadas here! And now they have loyalty awards. Great marketing right! I honestly think they don’t need gimmicks to sell their products for I know the best tasting goods are enough to beckon hordes of loyal customers!

Nestled in the front right corner of the Seafood Market in Norwalk, they’re open on Sundays for your pastry needs! My bf LOVES coconut cake and I was not able to make it out to LA to pick one up so the closest thing to it was the Ube Coconut cake from Red Ribbon. I loved that it was purple. The cake was moist and not too sweet and just had the right amount of coconut in it. Reminded me of Korean cakes. Not too caloric and not too pricey!

Red Ribbon makes the best Mango cake! It is not too sweet, and it tastes really good. Everytime I go to a Filipino birthday party, I’m hoping that there will be a Red Ribbon Mango cake there to eat! I also enjoy going to Red Ribbon to eat lunch. I usually eat the palabok which tastes good also. Sometimes, I’ll order the combo which includes palabok, a can of soda, and a slice of cake. That combination of food is enough to fill me up. I also recommend trying the chicken empanadas. They have other baked goods there such as mamon, ensymada, etc. They are a bit pricey, but worth trying.

If Goldilocks is the Mercedes Benz of bakeries, then Red Ribbon must be the stylish, hotter BMW of Filipino bakery & café chains. I have bragging rights to say that I’m fortunate that I live in a place where I live closely between 2 local Red Ribbon bake shops. They’re both consistently excellent which means that the upper management knows what they’re doing. I love their friendly customer service. People often don’t have this luxury in other parts of the United States. Personally, I love Red Ribbon more than Goldilocks for a number of reasons. I can’t even tell you what I don’t like from them because everything they make is delicious. I can’t bring myself to finding any flaws. 1. I love that their small café menu is way more streamlined. Fewer on the menu, but top quality ingredients and choices. The restaurant itself is a nice place to introduce your non-Filipino date or co-worker for Filipino lunch without scaring him/her away. 2. Cakes are beautiful. I’ve ordered that delicious purple ube with macapuno(young coconut) filling for my daughter’s 2nd birthday. She loves Hello Kitty. I scored big time because they make Hello Kitty birthday cakes. It was so cute! 3. Their chicken empanadas are perfection. The crust has a nice texture, nice size. The chicken filling is savory. 4. Taisan is buttery, light, goes well with your morning coffee. 5. They have 3 types of mamon – ube, mocha, and the classic butter. I love how you can order a variety pack. They’re individually wrapped and they make memorable Christmas gifts for your boss. I can go on and on about what makes Red Ribbon perfect, but you just have to take my word for it. And, now that it’s almost summer I know I’ll be coming there more often for their halo-halo. It’s the best!

It’s all about their chicken empenadas. So good, all meat. Had dozens of them for our court at our wedding. No one went hungry and fit perfectly in pockets. Kinda sounds funny, but I’ll bet you’d be happy finding one in your pocket, after a night of partying ;) Usually pick up a dozen for out of town guests to bring home. We always order their palabok too when we have guest over. It’s the only palabok i like.

Went on an evening sweet tooth run & the whole family was in the mood for something Filipino. Enter Red Ribbon Bakeshop. They have delicious Mocha Sponge Cake. It’s light & fluffy & just the right touch of sweetness… not overpowering. My kids absolutely love the chicken empanadas as they should since it’s very delicious, flavorful. Their Halo Halo is reasonably priced especially since it’s competition right across the way, Chow King, raised their prices to hurtful levels. And if you’re in the mood for a delicious Ube Cake, & who isn’t every once in awhile, it’s a good place to go. I also saw a Mango cheesecake in their display case. It’s on my «to-get» list for next time. And yes, there will be a «next time».

A fellow Unilocaler told me about a weird bread that he got from a Filipino bakery. Out of defense probably, I vaguely remember responding it is what it is, no one is forcing him to eat it, and that it probably wasn’t that bakery’s specialty. Ensaymada. Ensaimada. Or however else you want to spell it. As described in its Red Ribbon packaging, it’s a sweet bread brushed with margarine, topped with Parmesan(Yes, Parmesan!) and cheddar cheese and sprinkled with sugar for the ultimate — what I can only describe as – grainy effect. With a combination of ingredients as such, this bread is best eaten fresh and warm: preferably straight from the oven. Unfortunately, Red Ribbon doesn’t offer this option as most of their baked goodies come prepackaged and quite possibly fresh — fresh from the boat that is! Fortunately, there’s always a microwave to fix the warm part. Maybe even a toaster if you’re feeling more adventurous. On a different note, I used to think you can never be a fan of both Goldilocks and Red Ribbon. But then again, I don’t buy the same stuff from both store so I can’t really have a solid comparison. However, I do prefer Red Ribbon for most baked goods and Goldilocks for their restaurant.

Love, love, love this bakery! I have been going here since I was 3 feet tall. My favourite is the chicken empanada. as the years have gone by, it has gotten smaller as the price goes up, but still taste as delicious as I can remember! They have a special right now– buy 6 get one free. I have tried the crumble cake, mocha cake, mango cake, ube cake and ube macapuno(i.e. coconut). UBEMACAPUNO by far my favourite! I also like to buy a couple loafs of th taisan(butter/sugar angel cake) to eat with a cup of joe for breakfast at home.
