As one who truly enjoys the diversity of Asian meals and the quality of their taste, I very much liked what I had and what I am going to future have at Ruby Thai Kitchen. Walking past it, I was given a sample and that led me to their food frame. Looking at the various items they offer, it was a challenge to decide what I wanted because of the variety of their items. From entrees to noodles, along with soups and drinks, I had to think long and hard as to what I wanted for my current meal. I ordered one of their chicken delights(Thai chicken) along with a veggie and rice noodles. It was a wonderful taste treat and the price was reasonable. Next time, being a mangoite(a lover of mangos), I will be ordering their mango chicken and different set of noodles and vegetables. Bottomline: A nice place that will adhere to your desire for tasty food during either lunch or dinner. I will be tied to this Thai restaurant when at the mall! Eat, drink and enjoy!

This is not authentic Thai place. Not even close to Thai food that I’ve tasted before and their pad Thai sooooo greasy. That’s not pad Thai its noodles with soy sauce and lots of grease it’s so bad. I do not recommend this place to anybody.

You know when you were a little kid your parents bought you play dough, and if you were extra lucky they bought you the little contraptions that would squeeze the dough into random shapes and prices. Some squeezed out spaghetti looking dough and others long thin strips… Well I feel like someone back in the kitchen got a hold of one of those play dough contraptions, and used the play dough because this pad Thai was gross and had a plastic infused taste to it. Like I’m not Asian but seriously throw some kind of Asian sauce on that crap to make it edible and flavorful. I wish they put as much energy into making the food as they do with corralling patrons as they walk by.

My friends and I came to the Cerritos Mall Food Court for our lunch break because they have a lot of food to choose from so we decided to eat here after we tried a sample of their bbq chicken. The food was okay, probably not your authentic thai food. When we finished paying, we asked the cashier for 2 cups of water and she decided to give us an attitude and rolled her eyes at us. Oh heck no! So I asked her why she’s mad and her response was«I’m on my period and my back hurts.» Smh. My friend decided to talk to the manager and he apologized for what happened but the cashier tried to deny that she rolled her eyes at us. Smh. Very unprofessional. Why come to work like that, she should’ve just stayed her ass home. Never coming back!

The girl customer server skipped me but I got her attention as I was standing there for 5 minutes before another customer walked up beside me. The customer and her mom even got mad as if I cut in front of them! The girl customer service was even giving me an attitude! I asked for half and half and she took some noodles out of my plate who does that?! Not Panda Express who are generous wit their portions. The worst not so Thai food I’ve had. The curry stir fried noodles didn’t taste good nor the fried rice that had a different weird taste to it. The bbq chicken was good and the sampler mango chicken was okay.

Not an authentic Thai food, they opened a new location in Santa Anita Arcadia mall. Got a tummy ache after eating it. BBQ chic way too sweet, their noodle is sweet, chix panang tasted very strange like those package powder stuff you get from the market, not home made taste! Worse Thai food in town

Happened to be at the Los Cerritos Mall when I stumbled across a Fast Food Thai restaurant… wait what?!? Well that’s about how far my excitement got. I ordered the Pad Thai noodles, Mango Chicken and Thai BBQ Chicken. I will admit that the Mango Chicken does taste a little like the Panda Express Orange Chicken(who doesn’t like Panda Express’ Orange Chicken!) and the Thai BBQ Chicken is an okay teriyaki type of chicken. But the Pad Thai noodles… that’s a sorry version of Pad Thai. I mean the expectations should not be high for Pad Thai that is made in large patches, but it does not even remotely taste like Pad Thai. The only similarity is that the right noodles were used. I must of just had too high of expectations, or I love Pad Thai too much. And for the prices that they are charging you could eat anywhere else in the food court!

UNDERNEWMANAGEMENT! I once loved going to this thai place for lunch since I work in the mall but I went the other day and it was TERRIBLE. The prices have now been raised, the customer service was lacking, and the food was OLD. My pad thai noodles were crunchy. I will not be going back.

So my 5 Stars is for the Mango Chicken. Everything else, I won’t rate cause I just don’t believe in rating anyone or anything under 5 Stars. Simply, because I know how hard it is to please everyone. I know that the mango chicken will please everyone if you like that sweet, crunchy and tangy taste.

Suckered into buying food — all because of their mango chicken. The chicken was amazing. The rest of the food was below par. Not the best feeling after eating their food.

This place is not really Thai food More like bad Chinese food The noodles are not up to par and on the bland side It’s not the worse place to eat, but they should really look into making thai food If not, change the name to Ruby Bad Chinese Food Kitchen.

This place was located in the food court of Los Cerritos Mall. It’s not everyday you see a Thai fast food joint, it’s usually Chinese food. I was expecting the food to be at least okay but expectations were crushed :(I ordered the chicken barbecue, some kind of beef stir fry, and pad Thai noodles. Everything was bad bad bad and it was so expensive! What a waste. Anyways, the chicken BBQ was super dry. I was literally choking on the meat and reaching for my drink. The beef stir fry was way too salty for my taste. Like goddamn, might as well serve some salt. The pad Thai noodles lacked flavor and was dry. Like did they forget to rehydrate them noodles? Ya know, maybe I just tried the wrong dishes. Idk, but I’m definitely not coming back. If only I can give no starts, but 1 star it is.

So I finally got suckered into buying a 2-item combo after sampling their ‘mango chicken’. Actually, they gave my daughter a sample and she was the one who wanted it. They always go for the kids, don’t they? I chose the obvious, mango chicken, and mango beef for my 2 items along with pad thai noodles. I didn’t really care for the pad thai noodles. My daughter liked it though. But then again, her choice of food worries me sometimes. I did enjoy the beef, although the pieces were a little too big and hard to chew. Service was good, as good as food court customer service goes.

Had lunch here with a coworker after trying some samples. I ordered a 1-item plate with the mango chicken and pad thai. The mango chicken was good, although it tasted pretty much like orange chicken without the strong, tangy, nose-piercing smell(don’t get me wrong, I still like orange chicken though: P). The pad thai, on the other hand, was disappointing. No peanuts, no tofu or meat, and no veggies other than maybe 2 slivers of shredded carrots. It was BLAND too, and tasted nothing like the pad thai from Thai restaurants. In fact, it didn’t really taste like anything. I probably should’ve gotten rice instead. Oh well. If I even do decide to come here again, it’ll just be for the mango chicken.

First off, this is not real Thai food but they don’t skimp on portions. The portions are really big! I always get the 2 entrée combo with fried rice which I can never finish. Price is very cheap for 6 bucks. I love their mango chicken, sweet, savory, and crispy. Their bang bang chicken is a little sweet with a little spicy kick to it(as what they describe it there), but it’s not spicy really, but very tasty. Thai bbq chicken is awesome, with some grilled sort of chicken marinade sauce type — very delicious. I tried their phad thai today for the first time and it lacks that peanut sauce flavor. I have tried their chicken curry before and it’s nothing special. Overall, I like this place because of the first three entrees I mentioned above, the price, and the portions.

Ruby Thai Kitchen, operating as part of a Canadian-American multi-restaurants chain( ), has one of those super fun, three-field, computer generated names. It could just as easily have become an Onyx Singaporean Stovetop or Jadeite Bruneian Pantry. Or maybe even a Sapphire Laotian Crockpot. The point is that the name must have an elemental gemstone, suggest a Southeast Asian origin, and bring it all home with a snappy culinary association. Ruby Thai’s ordering menu follows a similar design, with several individual food items made available from each of the following categories for patrons to choose from: rice and noodles, vegetables, chicken, appetizers or noodle soups. However, there’s no need for you to pull a slot machine at the counter as Ruby Thai leaves it up to you to generate a combo with the exact kind and number of items you want. We decided to go with a super salty bowl of «Wonton Noodle Soup» to share, which, according to a nutritional information sheet online( ), would give us almost 25−30% of our daily caloric needs in one yummy bowl, plus a side order of the even saltier«Bang Bang Shrimp» that would fill up another 8−10% each. Eat the same foods all by yourself, and you may as well call it a day! Neither of us have personal histories of heart conditions yet, so our two chosen items were just fine with us for a one-off meal. The shrimps cried out for less salt and maybe a tangy mayo dip that would have given them even more bang. But the wonton noodles were actually more familiar tasting and satisfying than others we have had lately, and they came with plenty of L.A. Westside’s favorite baby bok choy, which my aunt, who has worked and lived all over L.A. most of her adult life, warned us years ago we would get tired of seeing and eating in short time. We always eat them anyway.

I feel fortunate enough that my workplace is directly across the parking lot from the Los Cerritos Center. Since I have only 30 minutes for lunch, it’s a good thing the restaurants inside the food court have ready-to-eat food. I decided to try this place after walking by and getting a sample of the mango chicken. It’s very similar to Chinese orange chicken with a different-tasting sweet sauce covering it. I’ve had the mango chicken special with a side of fried rice and sauteed broccoli. The meal was very filling for me. At a cost of a little over $ 6.00, it was also reasonably priced. The main downside to this place is that the food selection is extremely limited; very little variety. I did try a sample of their barbecued chicken which I thought was tasty and very similar to teriyaki chicken. I may have that next time I come here for lunch.

After running an errand at the Cerritos mall and having little time left for lunch, I decided to eat at the food court. What was I thinking? Somebody slap me upside the head! When you think of food court food you think«ewww…um, no thanks.» And that describes this place very well. The food really has nothing to do with Thai cuisine. I ordered mango chicken with fried rice and broccoli. The fried rice was great and they gave me enough for three people. The cooked broccoli was cold but edible. The mango chicken — pieces of chicken covered in deep fried dough and coated with a sweet sauce — was not a crowd pleaser. The sauce was sweet but didn’t taste anything like mango. The chicken was barely there and I couldn’t even taste it. The deep fried shell was too thick and, on a couple pieces, too hard. It’s silly that I’m even reviewing this place.

4 Stars, What? Are you Crazy? Are you guys freaking out and probably think I am under some type of substance? huh? Probably all of my Thai peeps are looking down on me now since I am part Thai. This place doesn’t serve real Thai food, so accept that! What does Ruby Thai Kitchen make really good is their mango chicken. Mango Chicken is like the next level of orange chicken: crispy, sweet and flavorful. Their Thai BBQ Chicken isn’t authentic at all but it tastes like teriyaki chicken without the gooey sauce. If you like sweet tasting and unhealthy generic Chinese/Asian fast food, haha. this place is for you. Friends of mine. Don’t judege me. I crave it once in a while.
