The monitoring seems to work fine. The issue with this company is its advertising $ 9.99 per month. Once you are a reliable repeat customer then after a couple years ago they up the price which is automatically charged to your credit card. I called them and they said that $ 9.99 per month is an introductory price. I dare you to look at their site or commercials to find that disclosure. Not a good business practice.

We switched over to The Monitoring Center in 2011 and have had the best experience. Our monthly fee is still $ 9.99 just as advertised. We pay once per year and the cost is $ 119.88.(Do the math and you’ll see that comes to $ 9.99/month.) Your first year’s service will cost more because they have to install the equipment. Our 1st year we paid $ 328.63 which included $ 119.88 alarm monitoring fee, $ 100.00 parts, $ 99.00 activation/set-up fee, $ 9.75 state tax. After that it’s been $ 119.88 per year. We refused to sign the automatic renewal and they send us a letter each year when it’s time to pay. We opted for 2 key fobs(which is very convenient if you have your hands full of groceries) so that we can remotely turn off the alarm without having to go to the keypad in the house. They have even called us to let us know that the remote’s battery was running low! How’s that for customer service? We’re as satisfied as can be with TMC and can’t see any reason for switching to anyone else. We pay only by check or credit card, but NEVER with a debit card nor by giving anyone access to our banking accounts.
