Great place to grab a beer and a burger, especially on Friday burger night, half price … on a Friday… NICE! Food is good crowd a little older, nice vibe, a few craft beers on tap, could be a bigger selection, but good enough for me. Prices are good, so you can grab a steak without breaking the bank. You need to ask for your burgers and steak prepared a little less cooked than you may normally. I have found that medium rare is more medium(in both steaks and burgers) warm pink and juicy inside, medium seems to be too dry and cooked through. I know this is common thing here from dates with me who noticed the same thing and when I forget and order medium and am disappointed. Quality of steaks and burgers meet is quite good. A few fun appetizers and a raw bar with oysters(I never partake but those around us seemed to be enjoying them) Service is always good, attentive(the place is a bunch of small rooms so it is easier for wait staff to keep tabs on customers. The owner(manager?) will come by and ask how things are, that’s always pleasant to see. The bar has a few shared pub tables which can be interesting if you want to hear all about another diner’s life, but you may meet some interesting people. There are private rooms, it seems there are always large groups heading in for a party or whatnot, and all seem happy when leaving. All in all good place to grab a bite,

We love Brandywine Prime. Great service, excellent food and even better drinks! Obviously the place to go for a steak. I’ve never had a bad one and they’re cooked to perfection every time. They really go above and beyond to provide exceptional service and that, to me, is more important than anything else. Thanks for a consistent place for my husband and me to go!

This is one of my favorite restaurants in the area. It is a very well-run restaurant with extremely attentive servers. I’ve been to a couple of events here recently and was very impressed by the food and the level of service. I’ve been coming here for 5 years and I always have a great experience.

This was our first visit to Brandywine Prime. We had an early reservation and seated on time. The food was tasty. The server was very pushy and informed us that we should place our order immediately due to a large group in another room. I have never felt like I was an inconvenience for a server before. The room we were in had other guests that were enjoying their server. At the end of our night we spoke to Mike at the door about our dissappointment and his reply was we should have told him sooner. So sad that what could have been great wasn’t.

Was VERY disappointed in the shrimp last night… normally the $ 3 a piece are like the size of small lobster tails but last night they were a disgrace and should not have been offered! My son ordered a Coke and the empty glass sat there as the waiter walked by several times until I flagged him down had to say something. The entire evening we felt like we were taking up too much of his time.

We had our daughter’s bridal shower here on Sunday, and it was fabulous! The food, drink, and service were exceptional. Every detail was tended to, and everyone was made to feel like they were the only person in the room, and every need addressed in a timely and friendly manner. Recommend highly!

Upon arriving at Brandywine Prime, we were greeted welcomingly by the hostess who asked us where we prefer to be seated. I mentioned this is our first time here and I would like somewhere nice and comfortable. She seated us in the upstairs dining area which was quiet and perfect for my partner and I to celebrate his birthday. Our waiter, Jerry, was fantastic. He spoke casually yet professionally and knew the menu well. We ordered the shrimp cocktail for the appetizer along with the soup of the day, Manhattan crab chowder. The shrimp was fresh and the soup was delicious. The chowder was hearty and full of crab and vegetables. The tomato-based broth had a peppery finish just the way I like it. For the entrees, we ordered the salmon and rib-eye. The salmon was made perfectly, juicy in the middle, slightly crisp on the outside. The medium rare steak was cooked better than text-book temperature, perfectly red in the middle and seared on the outside. The cut of meat was great as you could cut it with a fork. The sides were also delicious, green beans, lobster mashed potatoes, and warmed salted beets. We are looking forward to dining at Brandywine Prime again in the near future and hopefully, we have Jerry as our waiter again!

Came here For my Birthday dinner. Service was definitely 5 Stars worthy. Very nice restaurant, great ambience for a romantic dinner for two, nice cozy bar with a great variety of wine. Oysters rocked! I had the Grilled Faroe Island Wild Salmon. The salmon was good nicely very flavorful, didn’t really like what it came with as a side. I am. Or from the area so it was nice to try a different restaurant. Don’t think I would come back. Very pricey!

I ordered steak and eggs. I received an over cooked burger patty with a small portion of eggs. Even the waiter agreed it was weird… very disappointing.

Went two weeks ago for happy hour but have eaten here multiple times over the years. For dinner love the steaks. Friday burger special is a good deal and tasty. Some of the happy hour items are not the healthiest choice. The lamb chops rock. I had filet before and it was awesome. They have a $ 10 corkage fee per bottle and on Monday nights they waive it. Pretty décor and nice for a romantic dinner too. Good solid place and in restaurant group with Toscana and the newly opened tonic from Wilmington, good for a date night out of the house and away from kids.

The service is 5 star but the food is 3 star. I assumed that since they are located in a rural area that they obtain their eggs from a local farmer, but these eggs definitely tasted like mass-produced factory-chicken eggs. Also, they forgot to use onion in their omelet preparation and in general, the omelet and home fries were completely void of flavor. The potatoes were greasy and did not taste like potatoes. Again, not from a local vendor. The coffee was very good and so were the desserts. They also have a lovely green salad involving strawberries and goat cheese.

This was my second trip to Brandywine Prime, the first being less than satisfying. This visit proved far more successful. We were seated upstairs where it was quiet and more intimate — overall excellent setting. The wait staff was attentive and responsive, but didn’t hover. And the food was excellent, from our salads to the filets my son and I had to the squash ravioli and grilled salmon my daughter in law and wife had. Overall, we were very pleased with our dining experience and will be going back!

Ok so now after about a half dozen times I think we have a concensus. The food is «meh» at best. It’s not bad just nothing to write home, or Unilocal, about. For what they are charging there should be a better consistency of flavor, better meat temperatures and better service. Now as I mentioned we have come about half a dozen times before reviewing giving this place every chance to impress but it simply is mediocre at its best.

So far, my boyfriend and I have visited Brandywine Prime twice, and we would definitely return based on our most recent experience. We had the pleasure of meeting Michael, the owner, who was extremely personable and made sure we were satisfied and well taken care of, throughout our entire meal. Also, the ambiance of the restaurant was beautiful. The low lit dining room, with the old stone interior and rustic wooden beams, gave off a very cozy, romantic feel. The food was also something to brag about. While I’m generally not much of a bread basket person, I couldn’t help it when the waiter(Chris-who was very cool!) came out with warm, fresh bread and creamy butter covered with bits of red salt. Heavenly! For an appetizer, we ordered the crab cocktail(over seaweed salad), both of which were out of this world. The crab portion was fairly generous and the seaweed was surprisingly good! For dinner, my boyfriend got the bone-in short round steak and I ordered the center cut NY strip. Both were cooked to perfection and I lovedddd the buttery gravy that came with the meat(while my boyfriend didn’t think his even needed any sort of dip/sauce-which is always a good sign). The sides(that we ordered separately) were the creamed spinach and lobster risotto… which were fantastic. In total, our large meal(for 2 people), consisted of: One appetizer, two sides, two steaks, and three glasses of wine… And came to $ 150 before tip. SO, If you’re willing and able to spend more, it’s safe to say you will receive significantly better tasting food(of a much higher quality) and dine in a very beautiful, tasteful restaurant.

Attended a bridal shower in the private room at Brandywine Prime. While we had a nice time and enjoyed the food, there were certain aspects about the venue which detracted from the event. The temperature in the room got to a sweltering 80 degrees and became very humid. The bride, bridal party and guests were dripping with sweat as we sat. This was somehow despite the fact we requested an adjustment to the air conditioning several times. Secondly, while I appreciate the historical nature of the building, the seemingly original floors ruined a new pair of expensive shoes. My heels got stuck in the cracks between floorboards and were torn up by the time we were done. A little heads up or notice on the door upon arrival prior to ruining my shoes would have been nice.

Last Friday, my friends and I decided to skip our usual happy hour routine to visit this charming restaurant/tavern. Having been there before, and always having a nice experience, we were lured with the promise of a great burger and fries, which happen to be ½ price during the week. The place is always busy with people cramming in to take advantage of this killer discount, so the seven of us weren’t upset or phased when we had to stand by the bathrooms to enjoy a cocktail to ride out the people storm. Before sitting to eat, we ordered a dozen blue point oysters, which were bland but not exactly rancid. I’m not sure if this was because it’s the end of «R» month season, or if they had been kept on ice for a little too long, but that’s the gamble you make with oysters, I guess… it’s not the restaurant’s fault, I just feel the need to warn readers not to order Blue Points anywhere during this time of year. Let me be clear about why I am writing this review: I am not here to bash the food. Every time we’ve eaten here, the food has been fresh and high quality. I am writing this review because when I walked into the restaurant, I felt like I was on an episode of Punk’d and Ashton Kutcher was about to come through the kitchen doors with a hidden camera. Here is the backstory of the restaurant if you are unfamiliar: Apparently, there are a few different sections of the restaurant. There is the large bar that opens into a «tavern» dining room– which every time I have eaten at BP, I have either sat at the bar or eaten in the tavern. Unbeknownst to me(and the few friends who had also been there before), there is a «formal» dining room that serves a different menu than the bar/“tavern” menu. Actually the menu isn’t different at all except for the absent BURGER. Not knowing I had to specify to the host that we preferred to be in the more casual area of the restaurant,(Obviously since I didn’t even know said dining room existed), the 7 of us were seated in the«formal» dining room. You can imagine the shock on everyone’s face when our waiter informed us that we were unable to order a burger. WHAT?! ISTHISREAL?! Since it was my idea to go in the first place, I felt the need to explain nicely to the manager that our entire party came solely for the burger, had no intention of ordering anything other than the burger, and would gladly pay full price(if not double) for the privilege of ordering said burger. I had starved myself all day for this meal, there was no way I wasn’t going out without a fight. YOUDONOTCOMEINBETWEEN A SKINNYGIRLANDHERBURGER! do you want a death wish? try it. «You know why I can’t offer you a burger? Because if THOSE patrons(pointing at the bar and tavern) saw ME walk a burger over to YOUR table, they would be upset.» Really? I doubt it. What I do know is that there are 7 people who will never return to Brandywine Prime, and who will relay this story to all their friends who are regulars at Brandywine Prime. In fact, my father and his buddies go there every week for happy hour. And they know A LOT of people. To the management at Brandywine Prime: stop taking yourself so seriously. You’re either a casual bar/restaurant in a tavern-like setting, or you’re an upscale steakhouse in a 19th century farmhouse. Obviously the former works for you. While you’re busy trying to decide though, give your customers what they want: A BURGER!

When we made reservations we expected to have a great a dinner based on all of the previous reviews, but unfortunately that is not what we received. Their parking lot offer little to no parking and encourages patrons to almost enter«Thunderdome» to get a parking spot. Our waitress, Melanie, made the evening worse. She seemed more interested in the larger 4 person adjacent to us. Their drinks were never empty, their food was timely, etc, while our drinks and water glasses sat empty for 30 minutes and our food looked like it had been sitting in the window for some time. In addition the bus boy decides to clang silverware for nearly 20 minutes as he is wrapping them into napkins. The final straw for service came when we were leaving and I needed to retrieve my coat from the coat check and there was no one there to help. We waited for a few minutes and finally went in and got it ourselves. For appetizers, my wife order a chopped salad which appeared to be a plate of mere lettuce with little to no dressing on it and I ordered the braised short rib nachos, which could have used more meat on them, but were OK. For dinner, we had expected to order steaks, but I had heard so much about the burgers, I decided to go that route. My wife had the prime rib sandwich and I had the prime burger. Both were good, but not of the price. Overall, service was horrible, food was OK, but like others have said, overpriced and the atmosphere was loud. I had expected to have a nice sit down dinner and we just didn’t get that. We most likely will not come back to this place, for the money that we spent, we should have gone into the city and gone to Capitol Grill.

I have heard so much about this restaurant so I came here for dinner with hig hopes, I thought it was very nice and gave an upscale feel but was underimpressed by the food. We started with the calamari appetizer and it was good but ive had much better and for cheaper, I had the seafood bisque and my boyfriend had a steak. Both entrees were very good but again, overpriced. The best part of the meal was the molten chocolate cake for dessert, yumm! I liked the other restaurants in the area much better but I would suggest this place for an upscale dinner or event.

Wow! Melody was our server and she was awesome! We sit in the bar area which is very comfortable and usually pretty busy. Mon — Thurs there are $ 5 specials, $ 3 drafts, $ 5 house wines and $ 5 off all sandwiches excluding burgers. I love their chicken sandwich with their wonderful fries, my husband had the short rib sandwich and he really loved it. They have oysters 5 for $ 5 on the special nights and I so enjoyed my 5! Great service and great to eat lighter in a very upscale restaurant!
