Decided on a cupcake truck since. 1. it’s something we’ve never done at a party before and, 2. who wouldn’t LOVE a cupcake truck? Here was my experience: When I called to get information, Samantha was busy and promised to call me back later that day. Guess what? She did! She explained the cost of the truck, what it included, answered all of my questions, and booked a date. Since she had another event that would overlap with ours, we adjusted the time accordingly. She was very flexible. About a week before our party, I spoke with Sam and gave her the final head count. Aside from the«flavors of the week,» I wanted to order extra flavors. She helped me choose cupcakes that would be appealing to both kids and adults. Sam arrived on time, set everything up, and was very friendly while dealing with the stampede of people running toward the truck. She moved the cupcakes quickly and with a smile. Needless to say, our guests left happy, full, and talking about the«awesome cupcake truck.»

It took me over 20 minutes to find the actual«shop». And that was after going into another shop and asking to be pointed in the right direction. The ‘shop’ was not what I was expecting… in the least. They should have had a back up plan for winter months if that is what in fact this shop is for. We walked in to a «counter» with an enclosed medium size plastic case of cupcakes. We were waited on by a nice gal that went into the back(behind a curtain) and frosted the cupcakes we ordered. It was a strange experience being in a room that looked like someone just pulled some furniture out of their apartment and arranged it in this space. We ordered the Peanut Butter Cupcake, Carrot Cake and Brown Sugar. Peanut Butter Cupcake — it was to have a large dollop of peanut butter frosting in it along with a chocolate frosting. The dollop in the center tasted like a tablespoon of thick peanut butter and was chewy and gummy… nothing like peanut butter should taste like, if that is what it actually was. The chocolate cupcake tasted«off». It had a raw flour taste. The frosting was nothing exciting. Carrot Cupcake — Raisins and Carrots don’t make up a carrot cake. And that is what this was. A spice cake(or should I call it a nutmeg cake, since that was the overpowering spice I tasted throughout) The raisins were not lightly tossed in flour to make certain they didn’t sink right to the bottom and remain in clumps of 3 – 4 raisins.(any baker, especially someone that owns a cupcake business, should be aware of this). The cream cheese frosting was overpowering and I could feel the sugar between my teeth(kinda like sand). It tasted like sugar and some butter. No cream cheese taste what so ever. Brown Sugar Cupcake — Was OK… if I wasn’t told beforehand that it was a brown sugar cupcake, I would have never known. It was a plain jane yellow cupcake with forgettable frosting. If you are going into the cupcake business and wish to be known for these little mouthfuls of yumminess… make them so. Put more thought and effort into making your cupcakes the best in the area. Although I realize this review might come as a surprise to some, it was my honest opinion of this business.
