Stopped by for my brother’s birthday dinner at the end of April, again everything was excellent! Was very happy with my ordered menu item.

I love that whenever I go there, I feel like I’m transported somewhere in Mexico. I mean they even have a cute little Mexican fountain in the middle of the dining room. The icy margaritas are great, just be sure you have a friend be the driver that night, because they can be a little strong,(especially if you haven’t eaten a lot all day, it will make you feel«happy» quickly). The food is authentic. Not your typical Mexican cuisine. Every time we go there, there’s always something new to the menu and the specials are recommended. I love coming here with my friends, always a great time!!!

The.2 stars are for the Margheritas, the missing 3 stars are for their decline in quality dishes…

The Puerco Nayarit was a pretty good size and was good in flavor. A little disappointed with the amount of pork. Good atmosphere, friendly staff and in a good location.

The food was great here. We had been to their restaurant in Horsham which was great as well. I’ve been to several Mexican places in the area, but often times it seems the food is just mass produced. At Los Sarapes it seems like they put time into their food. Eat there.

About ten years ago I eat great Mexican food at Los Sarapes. I had the chicken mole. I returned to find that my beloved meal has been changed, no longer moist rich chicken, with lots of flavor simmered in a lovely mole sauce. some how they have lost the love they used to put in the food. So, sadly I must down grade them.

I’ve been getting the same thing for years and they’re delicious. Margaritas are great, I recommend the blood orange. Prices are a little high but it’s so worth it.

Authentic Mexican cuisine but a bit pricey. Margaretta’s are loaded with alcohol so enjoy and be thirsty my friend!

This is one of the worst meals I have had in a very long time. I always order fajitas in Mexican restaurants & have had some amazing ones. Theirs had frozen mixed veggies(like the kind you would get in a cafeteria) that were still cold. None of the ingredients were fresh, the tortillas were stale, and the whole meal was so blah. Plus it was very expensive(I think $ 18). The margarita was fine. Not great, just fine. Will never go back. There are so many superior choices in the area.

Slow to get full menus once seated at 5:15pm, but that was a minor snag. The restaurant filled up fast and became very loud by 6:30pm on a Saturday.(Reservations recommended.) The huaraches with tinga poblano was smoky and flavorful. The queso fundido with chorizo was not a large portion and didn’t have a lot of chorizo. What it did have was an overwhelming amount of salt. Even with the nice, warm flour tortillas, it was too much and we didn’t finish it. What a waste of cheese and sausage! The carne regia was pretty good. Again, everything was a bit overly salty, but the taste was there in the(very) thin flank steak, the flat but spicy poblano relleño & the black beans. Although really shapeless, the poblano pepper was stuffed with an authentic Mexi-cheese, not some Whiz or Velveeta gunk. The portion size was O.K.; not generous on the steak, though. The mole poblano(chicken) wasn’t a large portion, but the flavor was pretty good. The puerco Nayarit was a pretty good size plate and was good in flavor, although not a very large portion of pork for being the dominant protein of the dish. The mojito was fresh, but not sweet enough. The house margarita was the real deal. All the limes were fresh and generously provided. They ran out of the salted caramel dessert by 6:30pm…?(Did they even have it, or did the waiter misspeak?) The tres leches cake was nothing special. It’s just O.K., quality-wise, but it’s loud and it’s rather expensive for Mexican food.

It has the best ambiance and bar for a Mexican restaurant in Chalfont, but you can definitely find better, authentic Mexican food 10 minutes away if you prefer taste over anything else. Pros — Skinny margaritas; I haven’t been able to find this anywhere in the NW Philly burbs yet, so I was thrilled, and they make it with Patron, so kuddos! — Food quality; The entrees are served hot, fresh, and with an abundance of flavor. We both opted for the sizzling fajitas with chicken and beef, all of which came with plenty of peppers and grilled pineapple. YUM! The taste was impeccable on these dishes. I’m glad we were given the option of corn or flour tortillas as well as a yummy red salsa on the side! — Complimentary chips and bean sauce upfront; The bean sauce was melted on top of a small bowl of chips for the two of us to share, which tasted ok, but nothing special. It’s a Pro because we were starving and it helped hold us over until entrée time! — Good menu selection; They offer a variety of soups, salads, appetizers, entrees, alcoholic beverages, and more which all cover your Mexican basics. — Our waitress was very friendly, but a bit slow considering there were only two other tables occupied on a Thursday evening around 5:30pm. I think she was acting as hostess, waitress, and serving bar drinks. — They have a good size outdoor seating area, which is nice considering the lack of patio options in town! — Ambiance: You definitely have the authentic Mexican feel here with the Spanish floor tile and wall décor. Nothing is fake or touristy about it, so it sets the mood well! Cons — High prices and portions; Entrees were $ 16-$ 20 which is very high for Mexican food, especially considering our entrees didn’t even come with beans and rice like sizzling fajitas usually do at restaurants. Plus, the portions are just average. While mine was enough for me after an appetizer, my fiancé finished his plate and still could have eaten a bit more, so you’re not paying for generous portions either. However, considering the lack of other good options nearby, they can get away with it. — No free chips and salsa(like everywhere else around here). I don’t understand this lack of concept as chips and salsa are cheap and plentiful. Plus, the red salsa they served with our fajitas was AWESOME and would be perfect with chips. — Guacamole had too much lime in it. If you like lime, this probably isn’t a Con. However, guac without lime tastes fresher. Guac doesn’t turn brown immediately, so when you’re consuming it upon delivery, the lime just isn’t necessary. If you want a quiet dinner, I would avoid this place at prime time. Even with just a few tables occupied while we dined, our voices carried far like an echo, so we had to talk softly for privacy, and I can imagine it’s extremely loud with a full crowd. It’s a great option if you live in Chalfont and don’t want to drive far, but definitely worth trying other places!

My husband and I went to this restaurant a few weeks ago with what friends of ours. We decided to sit outside because it was beautiful out. The chairs were pretty uncomfortable and there weren’t enough umbrellas available to keep us shaded. The service was also not very great — our waiter had no personality and seemed to forget about us half of the time. Not sure if it would have been better outside. That being said, I still give this place 4 stars because the food was AMAZING. My husband got one of their top shelf margaritas and it was incredible! As for food, 2 of us got the Mexican Jumbo and the other 2 got the Carne Asada. We all absolutely loved our food and had zero complaints about it. Would definitely go back again just for the food!

More like a 2.5. The service is great, so that was not the issue at all for the rather low rating. It was more because the hype for the food was very much overplayed, making the overall experience fall short of high expectations. My friend and I sat outside, and were given water right away. We split the nachos and salsa for an appetizer. The salsa was definitely super fresh, but they still had a lot of water, so I was straining each chipful before eating. Pretty soggy experience. I had the chicken mole, because I read the super high reviews here on Unilocal for it. I was so disappointed– I was expecting this wonderful play of flavor on my tongue and a food coma, but I could barely finish the meal. It was an okay dish, but the mole sauce was too sweet and didnt have much kick or flavor. The chicken cuts were great though, and there was not a lot of rice, which was awesome because I feel carbs are just overloaded onto plates to make the dish seem bigger than they need to be. My friend had the Carne Toluquea off the small plates menu, which wasn’t as spicy as advertised, but pretty good. Please don’t get the rating wrong– this is a good solid restaurant for good service and average food. But don’t go in with extremely high expectations.

Great authentic food. Delicious and dangerous margaritas. Lots of choices for both food options and tequila(try the flight tasting). Owner works the floor to make sure everything is the way it should be and everyone is satisfied. Parking can be tight, but I’d walk a mile to get to this place.

6 stars out of 5!!! We’ve been coming Los Sarapes for several years now. We’ve never been disappointed. Food is authentic gourmet Mexican, made to order. We normally opt for the specials as we enjoy trying the new dishes. Attached above in the«photos» is an image of the creamy pico de gallo chicken dish I ordered last night. Delicious! Service is quick and efficient. For anyone concerned with the prices: although the prices may be slightly higher than the surrounding Mexican restaurants, remember that you get what you pay for. We’d rather pay more for quality food and service! Definitely less crowded in the summer months. Reservations recommended. We love this place!

They’ve definitely turned the menu up in the past year. This isn’t the home style Mexican or Tex-Mex you’re used to. They’ve got impressive dishes with some really bold flavors. I had the Pollo Ranchero recently and I couldn’t get enough of the smokey chorizo and pepper paste. The chicken was slightly dry, but taste was outstanding. I’ll definitely be back for more. This kind of Mexican dining is rare in the area, so take advantage of this spot!

Great service at the bar. Guac real was delicious with house margaritas. I had the cheese enchiladas with the green hot sauce and I ate every single scrap off the plate. Great black beans, perfect rice, and delicious enchiladas. Will go back !

Slooooow service. I’ve eaten here several times over the last few years. I’ve had anything from soup, to salad, to tacos and enchiladas. I’ve never been blown away. I feel like the food is bland and overpriced for what you get. Also, on my last visit, I was in the restroom(with the door locked!) and overhead a female employee saying that she thought someone was throwing up in the bathroom. The next thing I knew, a male busser opened the door to the bathroom and asked if everything was ok. Thankfully, I was decent and washing my hands. Ummm, since when is it ok for an employee to jimmy the lock and enter an occupied, single serve bathroom… even if they suspect someone is getting sick?
