I heard that China kitchen changed a new manager. All dishes are better than before. I’d like to recommend one dish which names seafood tofu. Love it !! Free rice, soup water and black tea.

This is probably my second favorite place to go in the cafeteria. Chong Qing hotpot kills it. But if they have a long line, I usually come here. I find that once in a while some of their menu is watereddown or americanized. But overall, it’s usually pretty good.

After moving to Chamblee and discovering there was a China Town nearby, I was pretty excited. I’d been to Oriental Pearl a couple times before venturing into the food court. It may be unreasonable, but as a non-Chinese person, I get intimidated whenever I venture into somewhere like this without one of my Chinese friends — like people will judge me because I can’t speak Chinese and don’t know what everything is, and nobody will help me. I just want to eat the delicious food, guys! Anyways. I slowly ventured around, glancing at the different counters of the food court. I stopped at Chinese Kitchen because 1) They had an English word in their name, so I figured they’d have an English menu(they did), and 2) The lady behind the counter was friendly and made eye contact with me. I was really craving soup, so I got the beef noodle soup. It was HUGE. Also, delicious. I came back another day to specifically have it again. My third visit here was last weekend, and my first time eating in. I got the pork with garlic sauce, which was pretty good, though I do like the beef noodle soup better. Since it was my first time getting a meal one would eat with rice, it was my first time noticing that the rice is unlimited and self-serve. I didn’t realize until afterwards that apparently the self-serve soup is also complimentary. I guess next time I’ll try that. Overall, food is good, quick, inexpensive and did I mention HUGE? My pork dish lasted me 3 meals.

I came here last night with a large Meetup group for a meal sharing experience. Probably overloaded the place, but the girl at the cash register was a huge bottleneck. Little English plus inability to recognize the dishes from the available photos in a book or on the wall. Then torturous fingering on the register. We ordered one dish that didn’t appear after 45 minutes. When I asked she said they didn’t have it. Wonton soup was average at best. But the MaPo Tofu was excellent, saving me from awarding only 1*.

I’m giving this place 3.5 stars because some of their food was fantastic and other dishes were eh. Next time I’m there, I will try other things, but so far so good. Typically, you can find a parking spot in their lot and if not, then try across the street where the businesses are closed and you can park in the back lot. Also, bring cash as that is all they take(I know it’s easier to «account» for just cash, but if they moved to Credit Card — I think they would even make more $). Anyway, it’s all cafeteria style and the great part is you can get food from several places and then chow down. The best dishes were the dumplings, HarKow(sp?), and soup dumplings. There is free rice and hot/sour soup so eat up. The spicy sauce isn’t very spicy so load it up. Net net — it’s good, it’s fairly inexpensive, and you have lots of choices.

I came to this food court with my boyfriend for lunch and ordered their potstickers and soy milk. The soymilk was only 1.25 for a large cup and comes unsweetened(they have sugar on the side if you want to add it). There are 15 potstickers per order. Although these pot stickers look a lot like the boiled dumplings — they were pan fried so that they were very crispy(Love the crispy texture!). You can definitely tell these are pretty home-made, but nevertheless not bad. Remember: Every establishment in the food court is cash only!

This place is not that great compared to the two food stalls adjacent to it, but it is nice to have a change up in flavor every once in a while. They have a deal for their Tianjin Baozi for 10 for $ 8. These aren’t the greatest, but it’s a pretty good deal. Some of our favorites to eat at this place are: –Hunan XiaoChao: They make this dish quite differently than other places. Instead of the non fatty shreds of pork, they use what seems to be like a little fatty pork belly, which is really yummy with the vegetables. –LaZiJi: Really spicy fried chicken with chilis. Compared to their neighbor, Chong Qing Hot Pot, I think China Kitchen doesn’t do as good of a job on the spice, but still quite delicious. You can never forget our complimentary rice, egg drop soup, hot and sour soup, and tea!

This is in a food court that is part of China Market. The Food is not your usual stuff with Soy Sauce. The food is flavorful and the portions are generous. Be prepared with cash to pay and drive around finding parking if you decide to visit on a weekend. This place is favorite with the local Chinese population. So the food will surely be authentic.

How have I never reviewed this place? I’ve been here a number of times. I thought surely! Surely! I know what all to get. Even my close friend asked me what to get, and I referred her to Unilocal. My bad! I forgot. Maybe it’s PB(pregnancy brain or used to be), maybe it’s old age, maybe it’s my lack of sleep, and maybe I’m just full off my last meal! Or all! But thank The Lord, I checked for my meals and review of China kitchen. And I’m here to redeem what I thought had already happened! Now, when I checked out Unilocal, all the reviews and glory was on Chong Quing Hot Pot. That’s where the buzz was. I checked it out and it was okay. Plus, the gentleman there seemed exciting? For this place? The lady was just sweet looking and quiet. She wasn’t the extrovert reaching out and asking to show you things. I was a little skeptical but went for it anyway. I’ve been a plethora of times now and am pleased! I asked one of the guys for a menu and asked what he recommended. He circled them and I have been ordering those items and placing a smiley face or sad face when I’m pleased or displeased, respectively. Here they are: Smiley face: — three cups chicken — salt and pepper fish — sliced fish w/black bean sauce — Seafood tofu(house special) — Sliced fish w/eggplant — sizzling beef — salt and pepper squid Sad face: — surprisingly, none so far! Have I tried everything? No. But I’ll be back to go through the menu! My repeat items here are the salt and pepper squid, seafood tofu, and three cups chicken! The food is not overly salty! Nor the sauces overly strong!

Jet lagged and hungry, we needed something quick and easy. Not all the shops are open in the Chinatown food court on Monday, so we ordered a dish or two from China Kitchen. We ordered the eggplant and sautéed vegetables(Chinese broccoli, I believe is the English translation). The eggplant was slightly under cooked and not as saucy as it could have been. The vegetables were not oily enough(what a complaint, I know), which made the vegetables slightly less light and crisp tasting. However, I do appreciate the complimentary soup, rice, water and tea that is provided at this stall. The rice was a little hard(obviously been sitting out all night, if not all day) and the soups left much to be desired, unfortunately. If you are at the food court on a Monday, this is the only place to get your traditional dishes. Otherwise, stick to Chong Qing Hot Pot for your traditional Chinese dish needs!

Hit or miss. Had some good dishes, had a few bland ones. The chicken with bamboo was great. The salt and pepper fish was bland. The pork with dried tofu and celery was bland.

I came across China Kitchen in an article I was reading about the Atlanta Chinatown Mall. Being a lover of all varieties of Asian food, I decided to hit them up with my husband. Located in the food court among a plethora or other Asian restaurants, nothing stood out about China Kitchen except for its name. I love, love, love string beans and one of the first dishes I saw about China Kitchen was the Sichuan String Beans. This was a must have. Upon arriving, the young lady who greeted me(hubby on the phone) was very helpful in explaining their dishes to me. I wanted to try the sliced fish in hot chili oil but hubby does not like to eat fish at a restaurant. I opted for the Cumin Dusted Lamb. For the two dishes, our total came to $ 18. Once you order, you self serve for your rice and soup down at the end on the counter. They had to choices of soup — egg drop and I think, hot and sour. We did not like the soup. It tasted like flavored oil. If my husband cannot eat it, then it’s really bad because he does not believe in wasting food. Our two main dishes arrived and they looked very pleasing to the eyes. Upon tasting, the flavors were there and just enough seasoning. My only qualm was the lamb pieces were to fatty and we could not really enjoy the meat. The string beans were flashed fried and sauteed with garlic. What can I say, De-lish!!! I don’t know if I will go back, but it was a pleasant experience overall.

China Kitchen and Chong Qing Hot Pot are next to each other. I would’ve never come to this place if Chong Qing Hot Pot wasn’t open. In fact, at a glance, China Kitchen sells mostly the same stuff. I was craving some fish in Chili Oil. Since Chong Qing Hot Pot was closed, I had to come here for it. It tasted good. It satisfied my cravings. I didn’t think it was hot enough though. Maybe my old taste buds are getting dull. But I wished it was hotter. The situation looks the same as Chong Qing Hot Pot. You can get free soup from the front: egg drop soup and hot and sour soup. You get your own rice too. Everything looks the same. Perhaps Chong Qing Hot Pot has more Hot Pot dishes, and China Kitchen has more Kitchen dishes. Since they’re next to each other, maybe they share the same kitchen. Who knows?

Fantastic Hui Guo Rou(twice cooked pork) and Ganbian Sijidou(dry fried green beans) complimentary rice, tea, and soup. Really friendly service. Very accommodating of my diminishing mandarin. A really fantastic experience! CASHONLY! Don’t be afraid when you walk in and see chinese characters, there are small menus in english there to help you.

4.5 stars — Very delicious food! We arrived here from Texas and had to check out Chinatown and see what the fuss was all about. We really enjoyed the food from China Kitchen. We met people from Germany and other parts of the world. The food was very tasty and the bathrooms are clean!

China Garden is the place that I go to while in the Atlanta Chinatown Food Court for Xiao Long Bao. These XLB are tasty, and filled with soup. However, the souo will never make it to your mouth because the dumpling skin is welded to the bottom of the basket/lettuce/cabbage/whatever. So, when you delicately lift the XLB, they tear and all of the soup comes out all over the place. It is sad. But, like I said, it is the only place to get XLB in Atlanta Chinatown Food Court.

The taste is pretty authentic, is not a place fancy environment. But if you really want to try different regional cuisines from different parts of China within 50 yards, this is a great place, reasonable price with tasty food! Tips: I would recommend you to prepare cash, though there is an ATM machine outside of this food court! They made food pretty fast, so if you are in a hurry, this would be a good place to pick up and go! I visited Atlanta twice and came back to the food court for the taste of China. Check it out!
