most«cool» uiuc students leave here without ever having been to the armory free theatre… in which case they might want to do some serious self-evaluation and reconsider calling themselves«cool». you know who you are, you think you are on the cutting edge of everything and can’t wait to get the hell out of here so you can prove it to the world. too bad you missed one of the best experiments on the entire campus… and it was/is free so you really have no excuse except maybe you aren’t as in-the-know as you think you are. or perhaps a cool site like Unilocal just didn’t exist while you were here and you didn’t hang out with the artsy crowd so you just didn’t have access to the right channels of info… it’s ok though, not everyone can handle the gritty stuff and since it is a REALLY small space it does rely on natural selection to play a leading role in keeping the faint at heart away and maybe even at the Assembly Hall for the«Broadway Series». after all, former theatre students like Oscar Award Winner ANGLEE use to write and direct shows here and then hang out with the audience afterwards to get feedback. if you are still here or getting ready to come here to embark on a well rounded education, get thee to the website and plan a night out at the free theatre with your friends who will immediately realize that you ARE the coolest person they know. and if you are no longer in CU and never had the chance to see raw theatre at the armory, performed by some of the finest acting students in the country, try not to let it haunt you… you never know, you may still have the opportunity to experience theatrical experiments connected to the UofI. hey, the fact that you’re on this website at least gets you in the game. go to the«about Unilocal» section of Unilocal’s website and see where the two founders went to college…
