I was attracted by all these positive reviews on Unilocal so I went there for my haircut. However it was such a disappointment. My haircut was cut by a very young lady seems like apprentice. She had no idea what to do, sometimes she ask her manager’s opinion, sometimes she went to answering phones/​other customers, I was interrupted by at least 5 times. At the end, my hair was noting near the picture I showed to her beforehand. I want to cry because my hair was so ugly!

Great experience! My stylist, Melanie, fixed a very botched haircut I had gotten the day before at a different, much more costly salon. I will return to Cost Cutters! Great value!

I’m not a regular in the city but I needed a haircut. And with so many places I wasn’t sure where to go. This place had great reviews and they really deserve it.
It’s a really nice and affordable place to get a haircut on Green Street. I had the best haircut experience ever and the people in there are really good in what they’re doing.
You don’t necessarily need an appointment, but I recommend calling before going. Just to make sure they’ll be available.

The staff always seem to enjoy their job. They are very friendly and hospitable the moment you walk in the door. $ 11 Tuesdays is the best deal I have been able to find in the Champaign area. The stylists are great at asking questions and making sure they cut your hair exactly the way you want it. This is the first hair cut place in the Champaign area I tried and as long as i’m in the Champaign area I will continue to trust this place with my hair anytime.

This location is awesome. The people are always friendly and Stephanie is very skilled. She managed to cut an identical haircut that I got in California that cost $ 60! Not only is she friendly and talented, she is efficient! I am so thankful I found her!

I loved this place from the moment I walked in. Such hospitality and kindness. Stephanie was great, she took my information and promptly helped me. She was great at not only genuine conversation, but welcomed me to the city – it was my first week and I was just trying to find local places to handle necessities that I needed taken care of. Not only all of that, but the haircut was great! Exactly how I wanted and listened to what I had to say about my hair before, during and after. I absolutely recommend this place! Plus they have an $ 11 special every Tuesday!

Like the other reviewer, I’m a ~30 y/​o male who just wanted a pretty simple haircut w/​no styling.
There was a little bit of a wait but no more than 10 – 15 minutes. The stylist understood just what I was looking for and I was all done in about 15 minutes.
The rate has gone up slightly from the 2007 review — the price is now $ 11 on Tuesdays — but this price also applies on Wed which is pretty great.
A fine haircut in the C-​U area for cheap means I’ll be back in about 45 days for another one.

I’m a young male who just wanted a pretty simple haircut w/​no styling, so take this review with a grain of salt. However, there was no wait, the stylist understood exactly what I wanted, and the whole deal only cost $ 13 plus tip. From what I understand, this rate is reduced further to $ 10 on Tuesdays. Worth a look!
