Hancock Fabrics

I always buy my fabric here because the prices are unbeatable and the quality is fantastic. However, on Halloween, I came in to grab some last minute supplies for my costume and was met with an extremely rude employee. I was on the phone with my hard of hearing grandmother and was the ONLY customer in the store. The employee cleared her throat at me to get my attention and then exaggeratedly told me I was talking to my grandmother too loudly. I told my grandmother I couldn’t talk to her in the store and promptly left without buying anything. I will never shop here for my fabric again and I hope that somebody doesn’t treat this woman’s grandchildren this way when they’re trying to talk to her.

Sarah at Hancock Fabrics has been wonderful! I really enjoy shopping there when she works there. She’s sweet and always takes time to help me figure out how much fabric I need.
I also had my sewing machine fixed up there. They outsource the repair to another company out in Bloomington. It was kind of pricey but my sewing machine works like a charm now so I can’t complain.
Overall, the service is much there than at Joanne! If you can, check out Hancock Fabrics!

When I called I started talking and she said hold and put me on hold about 5 mins later she finally got back on and was very rude.

HIGHLY recommended. I am frequently there buying material for costumes and staging purposes, and they ALWAYS have exactly what I want, and usually on sale. I really love this place. They are so friendly, and far less terrified that I am a man than the homophobic fabric cutters at Michaels.

If you like to sew or want to learn from friendly people, then go here. I got a little carried away with my fabric choices because their selection is amazing! Unlike my local Hancock Fabrics, this location had all the bolts labeled with the % off and correct sale price. They also offered me the discount card, which is going to get a lot of use:)
The sale bins are overflowing with great fabrics and I found unbelievable deals – $ 1.99/yd. Illini fleece. Someone else cut it and didn’t want it, so their loss was my gain.
I will definitely stop by here anytime I’m in Chambana!
