Color Fx Inc

This is the worst painting company and I would never use them again. The overspray was horrible and they used exterior paint on the interior. Had to pay another company to fix the errors. It was a mess.

While we were in the process of replacing the flooring in the main part of our home we realized that since we had all the furniture moved out that it would make sense to paint all the walls. That’s a big job and we wanted it done fast so we went with a professional. Kyle had excellent references and quoted us a fair price so we went with Color FX. I am not sure how many people Kyle has working for him but the guy who did our place is named Ramon and he also had his teenage cousin helping.
Overall both my husband and I were pleased with the results. Ramon was professional and very detailed. He was also willing to touch up areas we found that had been missed (we were painting white on top of white). The main reason I subtracted a couple stars is that Kyle had assured us that it would only take 1 ½ days but it ended up taking 3. He had also told us his crew would be available to work on the weekend but they were not. Also, he had said he could also do wallpaper removal but it turns out he sub-​contracts that part of the job out to another guy and he wanted to charge us $ 1,000 for just the kitchen. Outrageous! Then the guy suggested we just paint over for it and that he could apply texture right on top of the wallpaper for only $ 350. Obviously, this is a bad idea and will lead to problems later on and I was shocked that they even suggested it. As I mentioned, the wallpaper removal was a different guy but having Kyle pass along such an outrageous estimate from a person who obviously has sloppy workmanship lowered my opinion of Color FX business. Also, Ramon later told me that he does wallpaper removal and texturing. I think the only reason that Kyle didn’t offer that solution was because he had promised my husband that there would be a 3 – 4 man crew working on our job since we wanted it done fast. As it turns out there was only 2 and if he had put one of them on wallpaper removal that would have delayed the painting.
There was some overspray from where they painted the bookshelves that got on a door and ceiling fan that we didn’t notice until later, as well as a little on our new tile floor (fortunately that part came right off). However, I have heard a lot worse horror stories from other people who have used other painters that they found in front of Home Depot or on Craigs List. So, I guess Color FX is A-​OK.
