I am going to start off by saying that my rating does not reflect the service provided by Cassandra, but my total experience.
I went in for a touch up and full head sew in. I called in a few days prior to my appointment and was quoted the following:
$ 55 for the touch up
(I think) $ 25 for the deep conditioner
$ 90 for the sew in
$ 120 for 2 pack of virgin Brazilian hair
So why was I charged $ 200 for the sew in? and the woman before me $ 150?
When asked about the increase Cassandra simply replied that she had to hire a braider, which is understandable since the service will take 90 minutes, right?
WRONG!!!
I went in at 11am, by around 2:30pm they finished my relaxer touch up then started to style my hair. I asked why she was styling it, when I wanted a sew in. I asked if there was enough time, which appeared to be since only one other person was there.
The other lady was there when I walked in at 11am, but her service seemed ½ way over.
WRONG!
She did not leave until close to 4pm! And that was just to sew it on and style it!
So they began my hair around 3, which I figured would take about 1.5 hours. Nope! I left just after 6 pm with a $ 330 bill when I expected to pay about $ 215 plus $ 40 tip.
Again, she did an amazing job, but I felt as though it was a bait ad switch tactic. I never received a call to inform me the price increased, but received one to make sure I came in. I felt she should have honored our agreed upon price instead of having a «whatever» attitude about the situation.
I also should not have paid the difference, especially when I know of other shops that have 2 – 3 people working on you and can knock out the same service in 2 hours tops. I was being cheap and got ripped off in the end.
Considering I had to buy the hair from her (which is ok hair, I have better stuff at home), her and two other people worked on my head (and I had to wait while they ran errands, food runs, talked on the phone, etc), the service took up my entire day off, and I was overcharged, I will not go back to them for any kind of services in the future, not unless my next service is the actual $ 90 that is promised here and on

The thing that I find insulting is that I would have been willing to pay the $ 200 for the installation if I knew it was going to cost that ahead of time. Luckily I had the extra money, otherwise it would have been a huge problem.
I really should’ve paid more attention when the lady before me was upset over the price and not did the extensions there. But they are in, and I am happy with the work. I am just very disappointed in the way the money side of things transpired.
Otherwise, I give the service 5 stars for the end product, –17 stars for the surprise cost.
