Hospice of the Valley seemed nice and helpful with my mother in law at first, but after she was in the hospital for 2 days after a fall and was returning to her assisted living facility, they refused to keep her on hospice, said she was no longer eligible. She died 6 months later, so obviously she should have been eligible. Another hospice, Homestead Hospice, took her on and we are very grateful to them for making her last months more pleasant.

Thank you Hospice of the Valley for all your compassionate and friendly employees. They are so polite, and helpful in really tough times. We arrived there to see a dear old family member in his last hours and were a whole bunch, with kids. I thought they’d kick us out when they saw the size of our party. Not only did they take us to the room, they pointed to a table with snacks and drinks for us and the kids and they brought extra chairs to the rooms. Later they pointed us to a small playground they have outside, shaded by large trees(yes!). They tolerated all our goings and comings and always with a smile. The place is quiet(well, at least before we all got there) and clean. Very pleasant atmosphere and small, it feels like you are in somebody’s home. The last star I took out because the rooms’ doors are open and you can see other patients. I didn’t mind at all, but other people in my party didn’t like it, and the kids were a bit traumatized.
