I would give them ZERO stars if I could. Do NOT do business with this company. Brad and the people he has working for him are scammers! Beware! This company is a fraudulent real estate company. They had a home listed for rent in several websites as well as by an advertisement sign on the front lawn of the home. We put down an application fee of $ 40 and had a hard hit on our credit scores to see if we could apply for the home a week ago. They never once told us that there were other interested parties; had they told us that, we would not have applied. They purposely left out information in order to make us think we were the only applicants. When we called them, they always gave us a run around answer such as «they were waiting to hear back from the owners to see if our application was approved» and «couldn’t reach them because they were out of the country.» We finally received an email saying they made their decision based on credit. Both my husband and I have fair credit, have excellent renter’s history, make well above 3x the monthly rent, and are ideal renters. We now see that perhaps it was too fishy for a beautiful home, listed in a prime real estate spot of Chandler, sitting for over 3 months being vacant was too good to be true. This company is shady, and will con people out of application fees. Do not do business with them!

My wife and rented from Brad for a little more than two years and I agree with the other one-​star commenter — what a mess. Did he mess with us? No really. But when things were broken the process for getting things fixed was always different. When it was an emergency it was always taken care of quickly (I guess because those kinds of things can lose him his license) but when it was not an emergency — like leaking water in the bathroom or a broken sprinkler system in the front yard it took FOR EVER. The leaking water cost us a lot of money as we had higher water bills by about $ 30-​$ 40 per month. Then when we moved out he hit us up for $ 120 to mow the lawn and $ 95 to change the batteries in the smoke detectors (which we reported and were never fixed) and to sweep out the garage. We had a lawn service come every two weeks and do a big clean-​up the week before we moved out to take not only the branches that had fallen down but also the debris in the back yard the previous tenants had left — but that wasn’t good enough for old Brad. Of course we have no recourse so my recommendation is renter beware.

TERRIBLE BUSINESS WITH POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND A SLUMLORD MENTALITY
My wife and I rented from Brad for 18 months in Anderson Springs, Chandler, AZ and HE IS A TERRIBLE LANDLORD.
Our stove was broken about 6 months in and we went through his website and submitted a maintenance request and got an email saying the request was submitted and we should be hearing from someone soon… weeks went by and we did not hear from him so we emailed him and he responded but never fixed our stove. We also had our vent cover for the oven/​microwave break and went through the same procedures and never got any of the issues resolved. Lastly, our bedroom fan broke and once again MacLay Real Estate never came through to fix any of these issues until they sold the apartment (which they did not even let us know was on the market). So only when it was convenient for them did they attempt to fix the issues we were living with for months and months.
On top of this, we asked if we could move out early our last month there and get our rent prorated. The answer was no, until about a week before our last day on the lease and Brad then asked if we could move out so he could fix the stove, vent cover for the oven/​microwave and fan…
Not to mention we never had a late payment nor any complaints about us.
BRAD is a SLUMLORD and MacLay Real Estate is the WORST Real Estate company I have ever dealt with in renting in Arizona for 9 years…
Please think twice before renting from BRAD MACLAY and MacLay Real Estate, he is TERRIBLE at what he does and his company lacks professionalism and does not come close to having even average customer service.

Being a young college student, I have moved around quite a bit. I had the best experience renting from Brad Maclay Real Estate. They are very kind and are quick to respond to my calls and messages. I appreciated all of their hard work and dedication. I highly recommend their services.
