Wax on. Wax off! This place is black belt! Bring your whole family!!! They do a really good job on teaching the art. Watch out for the Vive those people might complain about all the all the yelling and shouting.

I had completely forgotten about this place until a person called and left a message on my husbands phone, a year and a half after we were invited for a graduation ceremony. Let me just say that I was highly disappointed in the way this company runs themselves. My son received a small training at Maxwell preschool Academy. We were to go to the karate place for his small graduation. When we got there my son, who was 3 at the time, was terribly afraid of the loud noise and echoes that the small room created. Mind you, he had just had tubes put in. Previously everything sounded like he was underwater so, this was a frightening experience with a newly hightened sound. The children were to have a quick demonstration in front of all of the parents and then at the end they would receive their certificates. My son was too afraid to go up so I spoke with a young lady at the front desk. I wanted to see if I could get more information as my son seemed to really like karate, he just needed to get used to the noise. She kept sidestepping my request for information and advised that he needed to do the class first, get his certificate, and then they would give us information after. I went back and sat down trying to convince my frightened child to go up front so he can get his certificate. Of course he refused and I would not push him further. I went back up to the front desk several times to see if we could just obtained his certificate and get information. Once again she refused and advise that 3 year olds, by that time, know if they will like something or not and most likely he will not be in to karate or be able to do it. I immediately, was disgruntled by her behavior as she doesn’t know me or my child and shouldn’t make assumptions of what someone likes or does not like. We quickly packed up our children and left with no certificate in hand. I contacted my sons preschool and advise them what had happened and refused to ever go back to that karate place again. Now, a year and a half later a gentleman calls us and leaves a phone number to enroll our son. A little too late for that one thanks.

When our son started here 2 years ago it was amazing. The instructors were phenomenal and my son really LOVED karate. They pushed several competitions throughout the year so we decided to train for one and try it. My son was only 4 at the time of his first competition. We paid A LOT of money on top of the already expensive tuition to have one on one sessions to train for competition. When it came time for the competition we found out they don’t send their instructors and we were completely on our own. EVERY other studio sends instructors along with a team of supporters for their competitors. We continued to compete, and the kids who represented Sandoval usually ended up with first place wins. Their training and trainer was amazing, but was often denied permission to attend competitions. The kids were NEVER recognized for their achievements on their website or Facebook page. Karate was my son’s main passion and now it’s really fizzled out. He was in the same class for over 9 months and had so many younger/new kids join that he completely dominated the class when the sparred… not in a good way because it didn’t make him any better of a fighter. Sad to see it go downhill so fast but we won’t be back.

When my kids started here, the instruction was great and the kids were receiving helpful feedback to help them improve. However, over that last six months, there has been an exodus of instructors, and the replacement ones only seem to be concerned with getting through the class. It’s been really disappointing to watch the quality of instruction decline. The instructors don’t seem to be paying attention or really focusing on fundamentals and then building upon them. At our last class, the instructor decided to have the kids spar… with only 10 minutes left in class. It takes 2 – 3 minutes to get all the gear on, so it was a total waste and just another example of how disorganized they’ve become. We are not planning on resigning up when our six month contract is done, which is too bad as we have been going here for a couple of years.

We love this school! My 7 yr old daughter has been taking classes her for about 3 months and we could not be happier. She loves it and the disciple has helped at home. You get a lot of individual attention. I would recommend this school for everyone.
