I’ve had several Brazilians, so I have lots of experiences to compare this one to. Let me start by saying that Brazilians can be awkward and painful– but well worth it! Danielle was professional and relaxed. She played music and was so considerate of my comfort. I have never stayed at one salon, because the experience is always so traumatizing, but I have finally found the solution– Vivid LifeSpa & Salon with Danielle! Soon to be called: Fuzion Skin & Body

This was my first Brazilian wax and my service was with Danielle which I believe is the owner of the Spa. Since I had not gotten this type of wax before I didn’t know what to expect or what to compare it to. I thought she had done an amazing job… but… I went with my friend to another place to get a Brazilian and held her hand through the entire procedure since she was scared. So here’s what I experienced and thought about the salon after comparing both places.(It’s pretty detailed so don’t blush) Pros: Danielle was very nice and explained everything to me in detail. I felt extremely comfortable even though I was completely undressed from the stomach down and in awkward positions. She warned me on the most painful parts and also put me a ease by telling me the worst was over. Cons: I didn’t really get an option of sugaring or waxing, she just used sugar and said something about that being better. Some of the conversation was a bit too personal on her part but maybe it’s just her personality and not necessarily a bad thing. The white towels I was lying on were stained with brown/red spots which she apologized for and promised they were clean and I’m sure they were BUT… I would never use stained towels(especially brown/red stains) on a client it’s just not professional in my opinion. I was pretty happy with the wax until I got home and took a second look. I had quite a bit of stubble around the anus and top triangle area as well as a few long hairs on the anus area when we were finished. She said it was because I had shaved and the next time it would be completely free of hair? I had shaved but it was 2 or 3 weeks prior so the hair was pretty good length for a wax from what I read. Also, my friend’s hair was shorter than mine and she was left completely free of any hair. I also had my arm pits waxed and those were completely free of hair at the end so I was happy. All in all it was not a horrible experience and she made it fun and less scary but I wasn’t 100% satisfied with the result. I will try another place before I go back to this spa.

This is just a nice little day spa tucked away in a medical office suite that offers massage, and alternative therapies like energy work. I’ve been here 3 – 4 times. Every time I’ve been there I’ve had a really great experience. It’s very clean, the staff are friendly and the therapists are top notch. Vivid does a really nice job of being unlike the other day spas in the east valley. 1. There’s nothing corporate or salesy about the experience. I find myself constantly irritated by the upsell, and marketing that the majority of other day spas in Gilbert and Chandler try to push on their clients. If I’m getting a massage I want to relax, not listen to your sales pitch about joining your member club etc. 2. The whole experience from reception, to service, to payment made me feel welcome. The relaxed professionalism of the staff reminds me of higher end spas I’ve been to around the country. 3. They offer services that are uncommon for chandler/gilbert, and this makes the day spa experience much more interesting. I found Vivid through groupon’s now-deals a few months ago, and despite being close to home I would have never known they were there. The office was confusing to get to… there aren’t any signs from the road and it’s in the middle of a little complex.

I’m not a facial person. I know, I know. I’m weird. But I always seemed to turn bright red for what seemed like forever, break out, and felt like i had to hide for days because my skin was just too sensitive for the harsh stuff my torturers– er, estheticians– seemed to love slathering on me. That was until Danielle. Lured by the promise of gentle, natural products, I agreed to let Danielle try her magic on me. From the beginning, it was a different type of appointment. I immediately felt comfortable, and truly felt she was listening when I tried to explain to her with colorful words and sweeping hand gestures how sensitive my skin can be. She put me at ease, asking me questions along the way, making sure I felt comfortable. And I was. Add the massage action, and I was very relaxed and even– dare I say– enjoying it! Fast forward a bit through the fun conversation and relaxing scents and there I was, finished with my first enjoyable facial. Loving it, NOT beet-red, and wishing I lived in Arizona to take advantage of Danielle’s amazing powers all the time! Bottom line: GOSEEDANIELLE. She has magical powers. (disclaimer: the term magical powers applies to her rockin’ esthetician skills. I don’t think she can fly, read minds, or shoot webs from her wrist. But she’s awesome anyway.)
