Three Rivers Public Library

Small library, but they go above and beyond to offer great programs for families and kids. I have been to other story times at «bigger» libraries before, and 3 Rivers is much better, Lisa knows how to read to kids to keep them engaged and how to break things up so they don’t have to sit too long with their short attention spans. Everyone is always very nice and helpful and it is organized and clean too!

For a library I was very impressed. My expectations were kinda in the middle before going on, and it was completely caught off-​guard. I was looking for some Chicago Tribune back issues, thinking that they wouldn’t have that many but, they have publications that went back to 7 years! I also applaud them for having a separate room just for magazines and they had about a 100 different ones to choose from. I agree with the other user that its a very quiet library, even at its busy time. Its the place to go to when you want some me time.

Well, yes, it’s JUST a library, but I’ve been in numerous libraries in my lifetime and I must say this one is the best by far. Extremely clean, neat and orderly. The staff are exceptional, friendly and go above and beyond to help you with anything — if they don’t have it, they do everything they can to get it for you! They offer tons of special get-​together from book clubs to tot-​reading meeting groups.
They have this thick reference binder with lists of «Like» authors that I’ve never seen before — for example, if you love to read books by John Grisham — you like his style, but you’ve already read everything he wrote, the reference binder they have up at the front desk (You’ll have to ask) has a list of authors that write similarly (either topic or style) to John Grisham (or any other MANY MANY MANY authors).
If you are like me and often wish for a place to just «get away» from your home, kids, or husband (but can’t afford to run off and hide in Jamaica), then come hide out here! Since it’s a library which requires the ambiance must be quiet and peaceful, you have the perfect excuse as to why you didn’t answer your cell phone ;-)
