Really Really good Korean BBQ and kimchi. I love the staff so attentive and the Cinnamon cold beverage is out of this world!

We were originally going to try out the other Korean restaurant nearby but was closed so we found here and decided to check it out. It’s okay inside, very traditional setting and lots of space inside. What’s nice about here is that they don’t cramp tables so you have more room and kind of away from surrounding tables. They have a build in grill at the table and an electronic ring bell for service which is nice. Screaming for attention is not needed which is nice. We had the bulgogi which was really good, thought it was marinates just right and meat was tender. Also ordered boodaejjigae casserole(usually for 2 – 3 people) and it was okay. I honestly had better casseroles before. They added a lot of side toppings like beans and other which I didn’t like at all. I was rather disappointed as soon as it came out. Price is a bit more expensive than most Korean places I thought too. Service is okay, nothing outstanding but bad either. Luckily they had a groupon available, so I ended up purchasing it while we were eating at the restaurant. I did read their other entrees are good so def would like to come back again and try.

I though it was okay. Not good or bad. A lot of the reviews I read before coming scared me. I mean everyone is like oh the food quality sucks, the servers are rude, and the list goes on. The service was really good! The lady was SUPER nice. I was a little under the weather and not feeling up to do the usual Korean talk for better service. My BF talked the whole time. We weren’t treated better for the mere fact I was Korean. She was attentive, everything was timely and the busboy? he was prompt with water refills and even got us some banchan. They cook the meat for you in the back and bring it out. This does NOT mean it is fully cooked, its not. Definitely accidentally bit into a «not ready yet» pork piece. So will I come back? If I were in the area, sure. There is one way closer to me in Annandale and I think the prices are a LITTLE bit better and the meat quality is definitely better.

Our waiter was a really nice guy. Wasn’t korean of course but very informative. I asked him about the groupon deal. He informed me about the one i bought wasn’t valid and told me to just get the other one to use. This place is more fancier than the one in annadale. little bit more expensive too. but taste was definitely interesting.

Better than honey pig. High quality meats with good portions. Good service although some of their younger guys seem to get overwhelmed when it gets busy. Check them out, you won’t regret it!

This place is definitely not up to par with the one in Annandale. First, the location: It’s in a strip mall with a «Couple’s Boutique» next door displaying mannequins scantily dressed in black lacy lingerie in various provocative poses. Really?!? This is where you decide to locate a Korean BBQ restaurant?!? Then the food: Galbi is $ 30 and tastes fine but the portions are much smaller than the Annandale location. My family of 2 adults &2 kids couldn’t fill up on 3 orders.(At the Annandale location, we usually just get 2 orders.) I couldn’t even touch the sad selection of side dishes. The nangmyun was so awful, I only had a few spoonfuls. The broth was murky and had an odd taste. The noodles were thin and mushy & each bowl literally had one thin slice of beef in it. Probably one of the worst nangmyuns I ever had at a Korean restaurant. Now for the service: The worst was when we got the complimentary steamed eggs. My daughter who loves this dish kept spitting out egg shells & couldn’t enjoy it. l am not talking about one tiny little piece but 9 – 10 good sized pieces!(see picture below.) When we told the waitress about it, her only response was«Oh, yeah, I noticed some shells earlier & I threw out the whole batch.» And this means what to us exactly when my daughter just had a mouth full of shells? It wasn’t exactly an apology or someone showing concern. Needless to say, we will never be coming back to this location. Annandale Annangol is way better! In fact, any restaurant in Annandale or Centreville would be way better.

Too say that I was disappointed is an understatement, after purchasing a Groupon for this establishment for my family. We got to the restaurant and were told by the waiter that we could not use the Groupon because we didn’t have a 5th member in our party. I ask to speak to the manager who refused to come to the table and give a satisfactory explanation as to why my family was being refused service. I went to him and ask him to explain or work out an alternative. He refused to do so and then became hostile and threatened to call the police if I didn’t leave. Imagine my shock and humiliation at being ask to leave, for simply asking a question. What happened to the customer is always right? Avoid this place like the plague. The staff is beyond rude and not willing to compromise with any request for explanation.

I’m giving this place 3 stars because 1) it’s way pricier than expected. I mean for 3 items our bill came out to $ 53. I could have taken my boyfriend to Iron Age or Kogiya and spent the same BUTWITHWAYMOREFOOD! Thank God we found a groupon code! That leads to point 2) the portions and tastes. For the price of pork belly, the portion was tiny. The portion for brisket was a little bigger but still, not even close to the price. Oh the taste. That’ll have to have its own paragraph. 3) the service… They were very helpful for maybe. The first 10 minutes! After that it was terrible. The waiter never came back. The whole staff was sitting at another table and eating. I mean that’s not bad but for being the only customers. 1 out of those 4 people could have refilled our water, gotten us napkins, and even gotten us our checks without me staring them down for eye contact. [i didn’t want to get up and literally walk to THEIR dinner table and ask for the check] So more in-depth on taste… The pork belly was okay. I could live without the amount of bones in them. They were also cooked before reaching our table. The meat was more lean for something that’s supposed to basically be thick slices of bacon. I didn’t try the brisket but the look on my boyfriends face had me feeling like I made the right decision. The kimchi was more crunchy than I expected. As if it wasn’t fermented long enough. That’d also explain lack of flavor. You do get a variety of small dishes. The steamed egg was more watery than other Korean restaurants I’ve gone to. We did get another soup for free on the side. It was pretty much like my «spicy tofu soup» without the seafood and tofu… The spicy tofu soup was decent though. Another reason this is a 3 star rate. I wish it was spicier. I thought it was a good portion of seafood and tofu but it wasn’t much seafood after maybe 5 bites? I’d still get it again though. All in all… With the amount of other Korean food options and their comparative prices, I suggest going to any other one and not Annangol.

Very delicious! Annangol used to be one of my favorite korean BBQ restaurants in Annandale before honey pig became popular. This was my first time to the chantilly location and it was great! I am a fan once again :) I ordered fried dumplings and kalbi chumureok. Very tasty! I will come back for more ^^

Great restaurant and the staff is really friendly and they will tell you what food is what and what sauce goes with what meat… It was a real treat especially since I was taking someone who has never been to a Korean BBQ joint before the wait staff was outstanding :)

A variety of ban chan including some cold pahjung and soba noodles. We ordered both a soup and bbq to scope out of the place. They chargrill the meats first and then finish the meats off on the table grill. The idea is to get more of that smokey charcoal grill taste. We weren’t able to try the duck because you need to order at minimum two servings of it. We did try some BBQ, which isn’t too shabby, but not as good compared to places in Annandale. The soup, we got the pork neck and potato hot pot stew, was tasty. A large portion meant for probably 4 people, but hey it’s makes for great leftovers for another meal. Despite all of the comparisons made with other places in Annandale, Annangol is a solid option for Korean food in the Chantilly area. Service here was very friendly and accommodating during our visit.

Really did not want to come back here again, but my parents had yet another Groupon deal we needed to use before it expired. Service — Their service improved dramatically which is why I’m bumping this up to 2 stars from 1. Maybe it was because I was with my parents but the waitresses and manager checked up on our table literally every 5 minutes and they were very friendly. Food — food was mediocre as it was before. There was such little meat in the Bibimbop that we literally had to search for those several bites of it. The Chicken Teriyaki had way too much sodium and tasted like it was from the frozen section of Costco and it cost $ 4 extra for a side of rice and cabbage(what a rip-off). Their best dish was the Daegu Spicy Soup but it must’ve been filled with salt and MSG because my whole family and I were SO thirsty all night. Warning: This place is OVERPRICED like crazy. I am perfectly willing to pay a lot for my meal if it is worth it and comes with generous portions of meat and other good stuff. This place skimps you and overcharges you. Compared to other Korean restaurants, this place is about $ 3 – 4 more expensive on each of their dishes. If you want most for your bucks(and taste), I recommend other places in Centreville or Annandale.

Very disappointing experience. On a Saturday night at prime time, the fact that there were a dozen tables vacant should have been a clue, but I’d bought the group-on deal and read the other reviews, so went for it. If we could have a do-over, we’d have walked out and let the deal expire. The banchan was the worst selection we’d seen. Some were just nasty. The two orders of pork galbi came old and unseasoned with an undercooked steamed/boiled egg soup and some denjang chigae that looked like it was from last week. The galbi dolsot bibimbop was small and the bowl was nearly cold, leaving the entire dish of food under whelming and luke warm. Same thing with the soontubu chigae, which didn’t have enough heat to cook the egg white, never mind the yolk or the shell fish, and had so little spice that a 5 year old would have reached for the sriracha sauce. The kimchi panjeong was the best thing on the table, but it tasted like it was from a mix. My wife and I lived in Seoul for 2 years, so know what to expect from Korean cuisine. The selection is limited in Herndon and Chantilly, and this may have just been an odd night for Annangol, but we’ll keep making the extra haul to Centerville, where Light House Tofu has become our reliable go-to place.

A last minute decision to try them as the closest korean to the house. Our goal was a stew of some sort. After reviewing everything we decided to share the kimchi dumpling hotpot. Its HUGEAND can easily feed three or more depending on if you order anything else. It was a fabulously spicy and peppery broth with kimchi onions veggies meat(beef?) dumplings and tofu… it wasn’t till the end when I noticed rice cake slices hiding at the bottom. I love rice cake slices.. So remember to stir up from the bottom. At 6 pm we were the only ones here on Monday… missing a star as a couple serving items came out that we needed to send back as they weren’t quite cleaned right. … a exception that was promptly corrected bug never should have occurred.

My family and I came here with a Groupon and we were pleasantly surprised! My parents, who normally wouldn’t prefer Korean food, wanted to try it because of the Groupon. In the end, they loved the food and the experience! The food was delicious and we were given so many side dishes. Like other Unilocalers have previously stated, the meat would come slightly cooked. My family and I didn’t mind it since the food was ready faster! Some of the dishes we ordered were pork BBQ, chicken BBQ, and squid. We thought the meat options we ordered were pretty good. Sadly, squid was slightly too tender but the rest of the meat dishes were fine! Our waitress was really attentive and provided great service! I would definitely come here again. I would also recommend reading the fine print on the Groupon because the waitress informed us after we finished eating and everything that we had to order a total of 5 items. But overall, I would recommend coming here!

I came back again! This time I was disappointed by the meat because it was overcooked before it got to our table :( We had the samgyupsal(pork belly) and galbi, both were cooked before they got to our table. While I like that it’s ready to eat, for it to be sooooo cooked that it gets even more cooked while we’re sitting there made me sad. Maybe try asking the ladies not to cook it so much and it would be better :)

The food is really good. Most of the servers are okay too except one. I left a 15 percent tip. She proceeds to argue with me and say it is a minimum 18 percent. I did not see this stated anywhere. She was arguing over three dollars. We give in because she wouldn’t let us leave until we did. She didnt refill our waters at all. We had to go get out own napkins and refills of other things we would need to do bbq. The food is good. Service not so much.

*3.5 Stars* Solid place to get some Korean bbq. I loved the pork galbi’s nicely seasoned meat, and the pork belly was very good as well. The meat slices were thick and not overly fatty. It was very nice that they gave an abundance of greens and radish slices to wrap the meat in so that I didn’t have to ask for more again and again. The galbi came out all cooked and ready to eat, and the pork belly was almost done as well. We thought that was weird but it definitely saved us the time. The boyfriend wasn’t too keen on it because he thought it took away from the bbq experience. Service was very good and friendly until checkout. We showed our server our Groupon voucher and her attitude seemed to get cold all of a sudden. She was silent as she brought our check and a box for our leftovers. It wasn’t a very nice ending to our meal… if you’re going to be sour about a Groupon, then why put one out at all? Overall a quite decent place, and nearby too. It’s cleaner and much more relaxing than busy Honey Pig or Kogiya. The hours are also nice, especially when looking to get a nice meal on a late weeknight.
