We held our brunch wedding at Cabell’s Mill on May 17. Their team was prompt in communicating with us, overlooked the set up, and very polite. The venue is breathtakingly gorgeous, and the price is insanely cheap. They also let us use our own caterers which most venues don’t allow. We had so many of our guest complement our venue. Even the photographer, who shoots many weddings in Virginia, DC, and Maryland, was very impressed. All in all we couldn’t have asked for a better interaction with the staff pre and post wedding. I highly recommend this venue.

I will give one star because it’s an absolutely beautiful location however the management of it is terrible. They are unorganized and rude. I was apart of a wedding that happened and there was so much miscommunication between different employees that work there with things we could and could not do, which led to delays in setting up. During the last hour of our rental time, we were being yelled at that there was still stuff laying around as we were cleaning it up, which wasted even more time. We had the place until midnight but the lady started putting checklists and paperwork boxes in the area we were cleaning up and it was accidentally put away with our things. She then proceeded to get mad at us that we took her things. Why would you put your things in a place where we are picking up items and our time is not up yet? When you change what we can and can’t do on the day of the wedding, how is the bridal party supposed to actually enjoy what they’re doing? On top of that, they are not nice about telling you what they failed to tell you in the first place.

My wife and I were married here in September of 2009. 85 in attendance, but we did not have a sit-down meal, just heavy hors doeurves. I think it worked out really well, as other have mentioned the place is dirt cheap but you bring everything. Including outdoor lighting, so if you plan on having an outdoor ceremony at dusk(like we did) be sure to have enough light for the officiant to read(like we did not). Reserve as close to a year in advance as possible.

Got married here 10/13/2012, great venue if you are less than 80 people. We used the outdoor space more than the indoor space. Photographed really well.

I recently attended a wedding here. At first I wasn’t sure how the brides vision was going to come alive at a historic venue — which seemed pretty small. I was completely blown away at the space and how it was transformed. Now I know a lot of this has nothing to do with the actual venue, but seeing what this place was capable of being turned into I would recommend it to any bride on a budget. The plus side is you get this place for dirt cheap as a Fairfax County resident. Down side? Having to bring EVERYTHING in yourself. This particular historic FFX County property does not have a kitchen. which made it some what tricky for the caterer to keep foods warm, but they managed. The grounds are beautifully kept and space was definitely not scarce with 150+ guests. So if you’re okay with putting in a little extra work in coordinating everything from the caterer to the florist etc. for a cheaper venue rental then this is a great space to consider.
