This was a great find. It’s the anti-Starbucks — quiet, very high quality bakery that does the usual pastries, but also makes a variety of fresh loaves to take home. The bread is fabulous(I bought a loaf of wheat bread), the coffee is pretty good. Maybe a bit weak, but still satisfying. If you find yourself at Cub Run Rec Center for, say, a swim meet, this bakery is just 5 min drive. I highly recommend this place.

Not conveniently opened at times for working people. There never seems to be an abundance of anything there(even if you go in at noon!), and most of their items are dry. So unfortunate.

So glad Unilocal led me here. The bakery smells so good. They have loads of freshly baked breads and other baked goods. The earlier you come, the more variety you will have to choose from. They also have a few ready made sandwiches and bottled drinks in their fridge. I wouldn’t say this is where you should come for lunch, it’s mostly a grab and go kinda place. There is some seating available inside. The cashier was friendly and quick. Free samples can be found around the bakery. This place is seriously forking out some delicious baked goods and I am so glad we finally got to visit. It’s close to home, which is also a win win! It may be a bit difficult to find the place at first. It’s slightly hidden among the industrial neighborhood. Well worth the visit, especially if you are in the area.

The absolute best place on Connecticut Avenue to have breakfast on the weekends. Whether you want a croissant, breakfast sandwich or a complete breakfast of an omelet with all the fixings. Some of the best coffee also. And yes they have many sweets to tempt you. Eating outside in their courtyard is a real treat in the spring.

Best. Bakery. Ever. I highly recommend the firehook smoothie, since it is so chocolately and delicious! Every one of their baked goods are amazing and are nicely priced at around $ 2 – 3. The ham and cheese croissant is great and so is the chocolate croissant and the almost croissant and the Danishes and the scones. The interior is very cute and has good vibes. The place can be hard to find, so use your gps. Delicious place I highly recommend!

Nice bakery. It is a bit hidden, but this is usually where the gems are! Friendly customer service. The carrot raisin, muffin and nuts was delicious with just the perfect amount of sugar. Will definitely be back soon to try the pecan pie!

The other reviewers are spot on… odd location(clearly focused on commercial business… not retail) but great bread, pastries, etc. I wouldn’t go there expecting a real coffee shop experience.

Agree with the previous reviewer, this place is the best kept secret in Chantilly. I meet friends here once a week for coffee and a treat. If you order a croissant, ask them to heat it up, delicious. All their breads are good as well and for 2.50 it can’t be beat. I highly recommend this off-the-beaten-path coffee house.

Ok I am reviewing a place just based on the smell and how it looked. The only reason its missing the last star is cuz I didn’t get to taste it. A moment for the shock… I bought a bunch of pastries for some family. I made the mistake of giving them the whole bag which included my apple danish and I didn’t think it appropriate to ask for their breakfast back from them. But the place smelled amazing. The pastries looked amazing. I’m almost certain I would have loved it enough to give it the 5th star and I hope I’m out in Chantilly again just to try it out.

Honestly I didn’t even buy anything. Nothing looked good or fresh except for their loaves of bread. There’s a flashing sign on the window for Coffee but they only serve regular drip. Not really a coffee place. Weird location. Underwhelmed.

When Unilocal recommended this place for breakfast, I thought, «Why not?» Then I thought, «Why did I not find this place sooner!?» Holy carb heaven, Batman!” Fresh breads, cakes, cookies and pastries, oh my. Not for the Paleo of heart. I picked up an assortment of croissants for my family and they were gone in 60 seconds. No joke. The croissants are huge and buttery. The cakes are right down my alley. My husband jokes that I like foo-foo cakes. It’s true. He’s more of the grocery store sheet cake kinda guy. I’m a guava and passion fruit filling kinda girl. Opposites attract, but I digress. Check ‘em out. They will slice the fresh loaves for you if you like. They distribute their baked goods to restaurants as well. Great for parties and business meetings. Just do it.

I just stopped in to pick up something to take in to work. The selection of such items isn’t huge, but I got an Orange Zest bundt coffee cake($ 12.99) and its AMAZING! they mostly have bread loaves and single pastries. but if those are as good as this cake, you cant go wrong!

This is five Chantilly stars – I’ve been to better bakeries, but not in the area of Dulles. This is the place they bake for all the Firehook locations, so they have the terrific crispy scones, the wonderful danish – everything. What they don’t have is much seating or staff. There’s a single person working and three(3!) tables in an area that could hold eight. So you might wait a few minutes for your capp, but it will be good when it’s done. To calibrate costs, a baguette is $ 2! Amusingly, there’s a Charbucks a stone’s throw away. I’m sure it’s always packed. They also advertise home and business delivery.

This bakery has a deal going with Windshield City. While you wait for your windshield to be replaced, you can walk over here for a cup of coffee and a pastry on the house. The location has to be a bit of a deterrent for some, but I urge you to make the effort to find this place. Everything looked awesome, but I couldn’t exactly eat everything… so, here I what I managed; chocolate croissant(heaven), coffee(a little weak), chocolate caramel sea salt brownie bark(highly addictive) and a loaf of sourdough(excellent). My only complaint is that they don’t have a public restroom.

Really bad experience! My coworkers and I decided to try this place since it’s close to the office and seemed to have good reviews. About 10 of us went online to look at the menu, decided what we wanted and then I went to get everything. When I got there they did not have a single item that anyone wanted which included basic croissants and muffins. I wanted a chicken salad sandwich but they did not have it in the case. I did see a small container of the chicken salad and asked if they could put it on a sandwich and was told that they could not do that and that they did not sell the bread like that. If you are going to have an online menu you really should make a note that this location has maybe half a page of the items from an 18 page menu. None of us will ever go there again, it was incredibly disappointing!
I’m so glad I was curious enough to visit this bakery. This place is great to quickly run in to get some coffee and a baked treat. Might as well get a whole loaf of bread for $ 2.50 while you’re at it! The owner explained that the reason why the bread is so cheap is because this is the Firehook headquarters where they bake all the goods that will get distributed to their stores. What they sell at this location is whatever did not get sent out that day. You really can’t beat the price. If I could, I would give this place 4.5 stars because some of their baked goods have been a little off. A chocolate croissant I had tasted a little burnt on the inside, like the sugar inside caramelized or something. I can’t remember other examples right now but for the most part, delicious(hence rounding up to 5 instead of down)! Their apple bear claw was awesome and their breads are tasty. Good coffee too and they always have samples!

I can not believe I did not know about this place until now. The baked goods here are just PHENOMENAL. Their crossants are easily the best in town: huge, buttery, and not greasy. I’ve tried the chocolate crossants with almond filling and the savory one with ham and cheese filling as well. They’re just too yummy to be real. The palmiers are humongous and smell like honey butter. The cake are simple and delicious. I tried one with plain vanilla buttercream, vanilla cake and custard filling and it was so good. The design is very simple. The buttercream is neither overly sweet nor overly gooey like other bakery. The cake itself is moist. Just simply a great cake! If you want a delicious cake that well, look like a classic cake, without crazy designs, please come here! You won’t regret it. I’m coming back soon for some bread and danish. I can only sample a couple each weeks, if not my waist is gonna disappear again! KEEPUPTHEGOODWORK!!!

The main bakery for all their shops. Outstanding pastries and breads. They also have freshly made sandwiches and soups. Located in an industrial park but worth the short side trip.

I like this place! I’ve always been afraid it would close up because it’s in such a bizarre location but apparently this is where they do much of the baking for the whole chain so it’s probably not going anywhere. The café is a great little eatery. The croissants — both sweet and savory — are humongous and delicious. Same for the palmiers. The other baked goods have generally been very good. The flatbread crackers — especially the zaatar flavor — are outstanding. Coffee is even good, too. Also, there are always plenty of samples if you want to stuff your face with some extra carbs.
