Great massage chairs during shampoo. But my color came out brassy and faded fairly quickly.

Vince is very good at what he does. Love the hair style he gave me. My only complaint is that the front of my hair is a little too yellow instead of blond but I might go back and see if he can fix it. Otherwise I love coming here. The massage chairs are great too!

I have honestly never written a bad review of a salon but what happened here deserves to be known. I went here on a whim and based on the other high reviews I was pretty excited. I went in and the girl at the desk was nice and got me a soda while I waited. Soon the stylist appeared and went through in detail what I wanted done with my hair. I had very high expectations that this color/cut was going to be great. Unfortunately this was far from the case. After sitting a bit with the foils in my hair, I went back to the lovely massaging wash bowls. This is where it all went bad. A toner was applied to my highlighted hair and I waited a while. They stylist came back washed it out and then said it wasn’t right and added another toner. Later she comes back to rinse out the second toner and tells me that«next time» it will look better??? SAYWHAT? NEXTTIME? What about this time? I get to her chair and realize my hair is a lovely mix of yellow and orange. That kind of orange you get when you attempt to bleach your own dark hair. Then we proceed to the hair cut. At this point i’m nearing a break down. She quickly dries my hair, tells me what I owe and runs off. No asking if I was satisfied, no showing me the back of my hair. Not even so much as have a nice day. I think maybe it’s just the lighting in the salon and that i will wait until I get home to check it out. Well when I get home my roommate was horrified at the orange shade of my hair and the fact that it was nearly 1″ longer on one side than the other. The next day I wrote an email to the salon describing my issue because I had no intention of going back in there and being stressed by having this stylist fix my hair. As of the date of this post I have heard nothing from the salon and it has been about a month now. I went about 2 weeks ago to another salon where they did they best they could considering how extremely damaged my hair was from the toners left on my hair. There was not a lot they could do about the color but they did fix the cut. I’m really disappointed that no one followed up with me about this issue and that my hair is still a mess because of the damage.

I thought I would give this place a chance after moijan did a great job on threading my eyebrows! I came in today to get my hair done, I have a fear of getting my hair done. I put a lot of trust in the stylist. I went there today and waited a half hour after my appointment time. I came in at 2 and got out at 5pm. The only thing I liked was the color. The cut and style came out terrible and I had to pay $ 145 for it. I am extremely upset and angry. The thing that bothered me the most was I kept telling the hair stylist that I would fix it at home and she kept saying that if she couldn’t do it, I couldn’t do it. I asked her to stop 3 times! So annoyed! I’m even more annoyed that I can’t get my hair or my money back and that I will not be able to go there again to get my eyebrows threaded because of this visit! Literally… the worst.

The Iranian lady(sorry I didn’t ask her name) threaded my eyebrows was amazing. I have been getting my eyebrows threaded(not waxed mind it!) all my life. But she is so gentle and really takes her time. She is also very funny. My eyebrows never had such good shape. I am definitely going back there. Also a big shout out to Johnny my hairdresser. My hair always feels lovely after I come back. Can’t wait for my next appointment.

I went here for the first time tonight. I love Jessica! She was wonderful. She listened to what I wanted, which can be rare with some stylists. Will be seeing Jessica from now on!!!

I’ve been meaning to post this update for awhile but am just now getting around to it. After getting home from the salon I was excited, but after I washed my hair I realized the cut was horrible and it only got worse as it grew out(which must have been why he wanted to curl it before I left). The sides were completely uneven and the layers stop and started haphazardly. The color was also very strange once I washed and dried my hair. I won’t be going back.

I purchased a groupon from this salon. I went there an the guy chopped off my hair and totally did not follow the cut i wanted! i even brought a picture! Very disappointed and will NEVEREVER go back :(

I made a same day appointment with Vivian, first time there. I’ve had a series of bad luck with hairdressers and since I’m new to the South Riding/Chantilly area, I decided to try here. My last haircut had left me we a bunch of Christmas tree layers with a chin length bob. I don’t understand why hairdressers like to give me tiered layers even though I specifically say not too. I sat down with Vivian and explained why I was upset with the style, but I didn’t want to go for a blunt bob cut to make the haircut even. My hair is wavy, so I have to blow dry it straight, but this style just looked like, well, a Christmas tree. Vivian told me I didn’t have to lose the length and she would blend the layers together so I didn’t have to do the extreme bob chop. Vivian also showed me how to blow dry it a certain way to lessen the time to style. She also flat ironed the hair to check the layering even more. During this time she was also working on another clients color, and she would stop and let me know she was checking her other clients’ color. Completely fine with me. She was apologetic even though she didn’t need to be about it. It looked fantastic for two days. I decided to wait to write my review until I had enough time with the new cut. First day of washing, it took no time at all to dry and style, something I adored(especially with two little ones running around in the morning). I can dry and style now within 10 minutes, something that took me 20+ before. It’s also long enough that I can pull it up on the days I choose not to style. Overall I’m very very happy with it. My only suggestion was to tell the gals that you won’t get the shampoo until Vivian looks at it. I was rushed to the shampoo station and insisted on staying put until the stylist and I had a heart to heart about my hair, what I wanted, and what she was going to do. That’s the only reason I took a star off. Salons should know first time customers need to have a consultation before the shampoo. I’ll be seeing Vivian again in 2 months for the touch ups!

I went to Salon enColor because I had purchased a Groupon, and I had a very good experience. Vince did a great job with my cut and color and listened to what I wanted but also gave input on what he thought would look best which I really appreciated. Also had an amazing shampoo/head massage — it was so relaxing it almost put me to sleep in my chair! The only thing was I didn’t realize until after I was on my way home that they didn’t give me the deep conditioning treatment, which was part of my Groupon. Mainly my fault, should have paid more attention to what was a part of my deal. I would be happy to go back again if my schedule/budget allows for it!

Stopped going after the owner Mindy asked me «your color looks too brassy and faded what did you do since the last time you were here?» Well the answer was nothing except let you do my color last time! Her answer was to change the shampoo she recommended to something different and then promptly handed me off to her brother. Another annoyance — you wait to get an appointment with Mindy only to be handed off after she admits that the color she did for you didn’t hold up? After that I just didn’t bother to go back!

Update: Hair Kcolor Plus on Gum Spring Road has closed so all clients are being taken at Salon enColor. Carmen has since left the salon but there are other great stylists — like Jonnie, Mindy’s brother. Just got my hair cut and colored by Jonnie today(they are running a special: $ 35 for face framing highlights when you get a haircut). Highlights came out exactly as I wanted — really brighten up my whole face! I don’t know how he gets my hair to be so shiny and swingy — another great cut! I erred recently and got my daughter’s hair cut at Hair Cuttery(a moment of weakness when it looked like a bird’s nest). NEVERAGAIN. It was $ 17(same as an adult cut since she’s 10) which did not include blow drying, and I could have gotten it cut professionally at Salon enColor for $ 20-$ 25. Will not be making that mistake again. BTW, a fun service they’ve added at Salon enColor is color extensions. They did a promo back in October for Breast Cancer Awareness: one pink or fuchsia extension for I believe $ 10 with proceeds going to charity(it usually costs $ 5 per strand). They must have raised a lot of money, because at least 2 out of 5 people I know got an extension(me and my daughter included!). It lasted a month, though the light pink extension did fade a bit. This would be fun for the holidays too — green for St. Patty’s Day or Christmas, maybe blue and red for 4th of July!
