Amazing food! The service was excellent and the recommended sauce was a great choice. The whole experience was amazing. I would highly recommend this place to a friend and would revisit again!

Very good dinner with friends. Service was great. The place seemed to get pretty loud. Not my favorite atmosphere. I had a steak and it was great. Sides were good. A fabulous place. It is very pricey. But you know that going in. I would mind going back.

What a great experience. We came here for my finances birthday and they truly were firing on all cylinders. Food was fantastic; we had appetizers, salads, filet mignon and then desert(Don’t judge us). Exceptional staff, food service and even the cocktails were a nice surprise and well made. We will be back!

My girlfriend and I came here for an anniversary dinner(several months early, but whatever) and were very impressed. We had a beautiful table in the main room, attentive servers, and fantastic drinks. Steaks were cooked perfectly and the staff didn’t bat an eye at us requesting to share plates. Our desserts came out with«happy 2nd anniversary» written on them in chocolate syrup — a nice touch. Especially in light of recent NC silliness, it was a refreshing and relaxing evening in a very inclusive place.

Phenomenal steak house! Has rightly earned it’s «Best steakhouse in the Triangle 5 years running.» The prime dry aged NY strip was outstanding

Soooo disappointed. Made a reservation a week out, confirmed it the same day only to arrive and wait 20 minutes and then the hostess stand could not say when our table would be ready. Drove 35 miles to check out this restaurant, almost impossible to find a parking spot, place was extremely noisy, so somebody likes it. I just can’t remember a time when a restaurant didn’t seat a small party of 2 close to the reservation time. It was mid-week, if they couldn’t seat us, they shouldn’t have taken the reservation. We left and had a wonderful meal at Ruth Chris’s steakhouse.

Valentines day dinner at Bin 54 was a great experience. The service was top notch, even proactively apologizing for the delay on our food coming out, and providing free dessert as a thank you(meanwhile we were enjoying ourselves so much that we had not even noticed… win win). Goes without saying the steak is exquisite, the sauces are delicious, and the sides(brussels with bacon, duck fat roasted potatoes) walked the line of decadent but possibly still healthy.

We are new to the area! Where do we go for Valentines Day? Thank God my niece recommended Bin 54. Our server Vicky was fantastic. She was personable, attentive and made us feel like the only people under her care. My Lobster gnocchi was fantastic, a close second was my wife’s scallops. The NY strip was excellent, until a tried my wife’s filet mignon, OMG, LIKEBUTTER! Vicky paired and excellent wine to accompany the steaks joyful flavor. Mmmmm! The Sorbet was refreshing but, the Baked Alaska was the ticket! Followed by an excellent double espresso! Jared does and excellent job with his staff and attention to detail but, hats off to Edwin who prepares one hell of a steak. We’ll be back. Thank you everyone at BIN54 for taking pride in your work and being proud of your restaurant! Very refreshing! Michael Komondy

What an incredible dinner! If you are deciding on where to go for that perfect evening, I whole heartedly recommend you check out Bin 54 in Chapel Hill. This was our second time eating there and both times they were unbelievable. Our first outing with Bin 54 was quite a memorable experience. We each ordered a Bone-in Ribeye, Asparagus, Brussel Sprouts and the food could have not been any better. The meal presentation was extravagant and the food was superb. It was our anniversary so I spoke with the manager the morning before our dinner and asked him if I could bring flowers to have set on the table for our arrival, he enthusiastically obliged. Upon arriving to the restaurant, he introduced himself to us and presented his card, telling us if we had any problems or ever needed anything not to hesitate. Our server was knowledgeable and the service was fantastic. Needless to say, we enthusiastically recommended Bin 54 to our family and friends. Well, dinner was so good the first go around, we decided to take the girlfriends mother when she arrived from California. Once again, the dinner was fantastic, the ambiance was perfect and the service was sensational. Not that we would have complained but, one of our side items was a bit slow coming out(less than 2 minutes behind the other sides) and we asked the server about it. She told the manager, and he took it off the check without us asking. When they went to box up our leftover sides, and the ¼ leftover ribeye, the manager came out and confessed that the ribeye fell off the plate onto the ground, so they cooked us a whole new steak. We were taken aback! This restaurant is indeed one of a kind. The staff is friendly, the abieance is perfect, the food is delicious and the service exceeds expectations. Without a question, this is an establishment that we will continue to dine at, and I recommend you try it too. You won’t be disappointed and will become a regular just as we have.

This place is consistently great. The dishes are deceptively simple but are very flavorful. The foie gras appetizer was done very well — it was duck, not goose — but it was very creamy, silky smooth. The sweet onion chutney complimented it so well. We also had the lobster gnocchi. This, too, was excellent. The gnocchi was so airy it just melted in my mouth. The dish had big chunks of lobster and could have been a meal by itself. The quality of the steaks are top notch — they do not pack it with seasoning or sauces so you can really taste the wonderful aged beef. The trio of sorbet was refreshing and punctuated a wonderful dinner. Service was excellent.

The steak is good. Tuna Tarte as appetizer, great! Crème Brulee is very special, different from that in other restaurants.

Book the Aberdeen room for one of the best dining experiences the triangle has to offer. Have had more than a few food items here and everything is excellent! Bin 54 is much, much better than the Angus Barn in terms of food quality, atmosphere and service. After dining in the Aberdeen room one could not possibly disagree if they are wise. My favorite steakhouse in the triangle and possibly North Carolina.

Just myself and one other person. We ate here on a night when I was on my way to the hospital because my GP suggested the E.R. or Death. The bill was $ 220… the food was mediocre, the atmosphere dark and loud. We were seated in a corner and practically forgotten about. The people working there spoke down to us because I asked questions about the menu and didn’t understand them speaking Frenglish(French-English) in such a loud place and had to ask them to repeat more than once. It’s like they were instructed to make us feel so awkward and out of place. In my poor health condition at the time, this was the last freakin thing I needed! Not to mention, I didn’t come in there to spend $ 110PERPERSON to feel like I’m trashy worthless person because I was sick. Fuck you too, Bin 54.

Great place, great food, amazing service, very romantic. I decided to go there to celebrate my wedding anniversary and i was pleased with the place and food. They event sit us in a private room wich was very nice and romantic. The manager came to our table twice to make sure we where enjoying everything. The stake tartare was my favorite!

Nice place for a great steak. Wine recommendations from the sommelier were perfect. Sides(served family style — we tried five different ones) were hit-or-miss. The atmosphere is warm and romantic, but a little too loud for easy conversation at one of their large round tables. I’d rather come back with a smaller party.

Good place… excellent service. I tried ribeye with bone. It was good but i think it could have been better. Tried margarita and found that to be one of the best I had in my 8 week stay in durham– chapel hill area.

Filet was excellent… medium rare was soft in the middle but not too raw texture wise. Scallops were tasty and the sauce with it complimented well. Crème brûlée had a nice surprise with the pudding being toffee. Very good. I was at a group event and the waitress was not attentive to keeping my wine glass filled. She also gave us attitude when we asked if we can have coffee with dessert. Overall, great food.

Great food; pricey but usually worth it. Not an exceptional steak house(on par with any NYC counterpart) but delicious nonetheless. Definitely order the truffled mac and cheese! Out of this world. NY Strip with shallot sauce is outstanding. Desserts are always great too.

Perfect spot for a celebratory dinner or romantic evening out on the town. A little pricey but well worth it! Started off with the sea scallops & the calamari — both were very fresh but I was most impressed with the scallops — they were caramelized perfectly and practically melted in my mouth. Shared the spinach salad which was nice as well. You can’t go wrong with the filet — especially if you get it Oscar style with asparagus, crab meat, and hollandaise sauce. Brussels sprouts and scalloped potatoes were delicious accompaniments! Service was top notch. Not only did they bring a complimentary dessert(my favorite, key lime pie!) for my birthday but also a champagne toast for the table — will definitely return to Bin 54 for more special occasions in the future!

By far the best steakhouse I have ever been to. I got the bone-in ribeye and it was unbelievably flavorful and perfectly cooked. Our table shared the duck fat potatoes, brussels sprouts, and a few other sides, and we had banana pudding and Keylime pie for dessert. Everything, including the service, was exceptional. I am pretty particular about the way my steak is prepared. I can confidently say that no steakhouse in North Carolina nor any other major city I have visited can compare to this place. Just like any other great restaurant, it is pricey… But it is worth every penny. Whether you are going out for a business dinner or social, I highly recommend it!

Bin 54 was booked the entire week for Restaurant Week in the Triangle, EXCEPT for a 9:30pm slot in the middle of the week. They close at 10pm. I don’t normally like to eat late, especially not big meals, but I really wanted to take advantage of Restaurant Week and try out this steakhouse. Several restaurants participate in Restaurant Week, and Restaurant Week happens in other states/cities in the country as well. Each restaurant has a prix fixe menu that offers several dishes for a set price. In the Triangle, most restaurants offered a choice of one appetizer, one entrée, and one dessert for $ 20 lunch or $ 30 dinner. Restaurant Week provides an especially fantastic deal for trying expensive restaurants that usually depict several dollar signs on Unilocal($$$$). You’ll really get the most bang for your buck at steakhouses, where tiny quantities of meat cost an exorbitant amount! Upon arrival at Bin 54, one of our group members realized that she had accidentally RSVP’d for the wrong day. We were supposed to dine there the following day. Luckily, the staff was still able to accommodate us, but there was a big fuss about seating. Initially, one of the staff members said he would seat us at the bar until a table became ready, then he would move us to a table. Wonderful. However, a different staff member then said this would not be possible and we would have to stay at the bar, something about not being able to change our seating in the computer system because the system recognized that they were near closing time(absolutely ridiculous — just move us without changing it in the system then!). For a party of 6, it’s tough to have a decent conversation and be able to hear everyone at the bar. It’s just awkward. We eventually moved to a table — thank goodness! We started off with complimentary sourdough bread, which is individually served by the staff, rather than provided in a basket at each table. The bread wasn’t warm or soft, and you can’t taste much of the whipping cream/butter either because it’s whipped to be so light. Oh well, these weren’t the reason for my visit anyway. For my appetizer, I went with Lobster Bisque. It’s not nearly as creamy as I expected, and swirling the clump of Greek yogurt didn’t make much of a difference. You can definitely taste the lobster, but overall, I didn’t like the bisque(and I usually like bisque!). I was disappointed and would not order this again. Also, it comes in a large bowl, but don’t be fooled — it’s a very shallow bowl. It’s a classy restaurant, what did you expect??! Next up, Petite Filet Mignon! Paired this with Béarnaise Sauce, which is egg-based, and Yukon Gold Potato Purée. The Sautéed Spinach tastes like your typical spinach with minced garlic, but it should be considered if you want something less filling than the mashed potatoes. The nice thing about dining as a group is being able to sample multiple items! Thus, I also had the chance to sample horseradish, red wine demi glacé(love the sweetness, as well as the shallots component!), and chimichurri(not listed on the menu). All the sauces were great, and my group even discovered that chimichurri mixes well with horseradish. I especially love the cute sauce boats and mini bowls with lids for the sides! As the name suggests, Petite Filet Mignon consists of a VERY small amount of meat. I wanted more than 3 pieces. It looks especially TINY because the plate is so large. Don’t get me wrong, the filet mignon is amazingly tender and full of flavor! But if I didn’t have other dishes in addition to this one, I would leave the restaurant feeling almost as hungry as I felt when I first walked in! At least present it on a smaller plate so it doesn’t look as bad! This is definitely not enough to be a meal on its own. Skip petite, give me regular(at minimum)! Finally, dessert! The Crème Brûlée is absolutely amazing! It comes in a ramekin that’s shallow but wide in diameter. The top is perfectly crisp and the inside is creamy, a nice balance. I anticipated that the Chocolate Angel Food Cake would be dry and airy, but it’s actually deliciously moist and denser(but still spongey) than the average angel food cake. My friends say the cherries are strongly alcoholic though!
