While traveling by this location, we called ahead to order our food in advance. We are regular patrons of Brueggers and understand the wait can sometimes be long. Seeing as we had 40 minutes before we arrived at the location, we called in our TWO bagel order. The person on the phone was rude and told us it would be 30 minutes or more for two bagels. Ridiculous. It is first come first serve. If my phoned in order comes before someone standing in line, then that is the order that gets priority. Even after arriving, the order was not complete. I watched people give up on waiting in line and leave. This location has the potential to do a lot of business, but it obviously needs a new manager and new way of thinking about how to conduct business. I would also like to suggest an app for ordering bagels like most other places in the 21st century are using. The only positive thing about this location was how quickly it became smaller and smaller while looking through my rear view mirror. Time for a wake up call Brueggers! Your sister stores are doing MUCH better than this location!

If I could give a 3.5, I would. Admittedly, I can’t help but compare this to the Bruegger’s on Ninth St. in Durham. With regard to the food: a Bruegger’s is a Bruegger’s is a Bruegger’s: it’s a chain and the food is consistent from location to location. What struck me is how cramped the working area appears to be! Each time I was there, service was slow, but then again, if the workers are practically on top of each other, it’s hard to move quickly without bumping into someone. My first visit there, the workers were not very friendly, but then again, unless you’re the super awesome Ro from the Ninth St. Bruegger’s, it’s hard to be cheerful when you have a million people swarming around you, demanding some sort of bagel sandwich. Also, I’m not sure if this is typical of this location, but both times I was there, they had little to no plain bagels, which I heard some people in the line ahead of me complaining about. I’m guessing if the kitchen is as tiny as the working space where the sandwiches are being prepared, then it’s no surprise that supply couldn’t keep up with demand, especially on a busy Sunday morning. All in all, a decent place, but for me, it doesn’t compare with the awesomeness that is the Ninth Street Bruegger’s in Durham. JMO; YMMV. :)

Slow, often crowded, very little available seating. No one wipes down tables. Compared to other Bruegger’s this one is a terrible joke.

This place has honestly gone SO downhill for many reasons. 1.) The staff … MANNERSANDETIQUETTE. — I’ve worked at this brueggers and I know for fact you don’t tell NEXT at a guest like they are a herd of cattle. — Please don’t talk about what kind of felonies you have or what drugs you do while serving customers. 2.) There is always a line … — If you’re working the line then WORK the line. Don’t check your cell phone, have a conversation, pick your butt, or whatever else you see fit to do. 3.) The Food — I barely get my order right unless I’m watching them like a hawk. They also are CHEAPCHEAPCHEAP with their cream cheese. I know the one scoop rule, I’ve worked here like I’ve said. But that means one scoop, not an eighth of it. Maybe I just have higher standards since I worked there idk…

Literally every single time I go here, my order always gets messed up somehow. Whether it’s getting it completely wrong, giving me the wrong cream cheese, not cutting the bagel all the way through, or just having an extremely sloppy bagel. I love Bruegger’s and I’m a dedicated customer, but this particular location has consistently terrible service.

Terrible. Terrible. Terrible. This place is hit or miss, truly. However, the coffee is pretty good!

Bruegger’s Bagel Bakery is one of our favorites, although not for the customer service so much, since that tends to be «hit or miss» at the two locations we frequent. This particular location leans toward the«miss» side of things with customer service at times, but there are a couple of people there that are great, so I can’t say that we have ever had extremely bad service. They are just slow if the orders get backed up, and on previous visits they typically don’t greet you when you first come in or let you know that they will help you as soon as they can. That has changed a bit in recent months though, as have a few of their staff members, so the problem seems to be remedied. What keeps us coming back more than anything else, is of course, the bagels. If you get them when they are first put out, they are still hot and fresh in the bag. We especially like the sesame bagels, and the plain and poppyseed bagels are equally as good, as are the chocolate chip bagels. We also like that they offer assorted cream cheese spreads at the counter for you to purchase and take home, as well as other assorted snacks(yogurt, cookies, brownies, etc.) They do have a dining area available, although we have never eaten at the restaurant since we like to get the baker’s dozen to take home. The bagels stay fresh, and the staff is great about offering bagel bags for you to take home to help store your bagels at home if need be. If they work on the customer service from their employees, I’d happily recommend them more often and add on a star. The bagels are definitely worth a 5 star rating on their own.

I came here because of the rude service I received here. My girlfriend and I went here for breakfast and got the better bacon cheddar. The lady making it was nice, and she made my girlfriend’s fine. Then when she was making mine, I asked if I could get cream cheese on both sides. Her supervisor, Erika, came over and gave her barely enough for one side and said that is all she can put on it. Then I asked if I could get a tiny bit more, and Erika said no that will cost an extra $ 1.50. I told her«oh, ok then, no thanks.» A few seconds later she added a whole knife’s worth of cream cheese. I figured she was being nice and giving me a bit more. When the lady finished making the bagel, Erika chimed in saying make sure she marked it to say I got extra. When I told Erika, no I said no thanks, she gave me an extremely rude look and said«didn’t you just see me put it on!?» In the end, she didn’t make my pay for the extra cream cheese but she was rude enough for my girlfriend to say we aren’t eating there for while due to the rudeness of Erika.

Came here because I had to vent. About one of the most frustrating experiences I’ve had in a restaurant in my life. I’m driving home from a friend’s on a Sunday afternoon, and my stomach is yearning for two everything bagels with plain cream cheese. I am a man of simple taste. I hadn’t been to Bruegger’s in quite a while, so I pull into a spot outside the shop and head inside. There is a line back to the door. I notice several large drops of what appears to be brownish liquid on the floor — sure, some kid spilled his chocolate milk, did you ever meet a kid who loved choco milk and wasn’t a spaz? As I ruminated over days of my childhood gone by, a Bruegger’s employee with a mop casually interrupted my daydream. «That’s blood on the floor.» Awesome. As I was gruesomely forced back into reality, I noticed the reason why the line was so long. There were two dudes behind the counter making bagels, and I swear they were having a contest to see who could do it the slowest. So much time and effort was put into each bagel that I was shocked when each one was not handed to a young witch or wizard as a symbol of their new found ability to wield magical powers as a pupil at Hogwarts. I waited about 20 minutes for 2 bagels. They were actually pretty good, but my experience in obtaining them was excruciating. I have never felt more like George Costanza in my life.

Love their bagels! Especially the breakfast one. The egg white and sundried tomato sandwich on the breakfast menu is top-notch, I LOVE their sundried tomato spread. I tried their jalapeño bacon one as well, but didn’t like it as much because I could not taste any jalapeño — the bacon was slightly spicy but that was the only difference. Their cream cheeses are really good as well — personal faves are the smoked salmon and garden veggie ones!

I went on a Sunday afternoon, so it was super crowded. It was hard to talk to the person preparing because it was like 4 squeezed over a tiny counter area. I think the menu is a little unclear about the trio, as my friend and I were confused about what counted. The people there were too busy to actually be helpful. My blt on a ranch bagel was just okay. Nothing special, as expected from a chain. I also got soup with saltines. For some reason those saltines left a bad taste in my mouth even though they were the typical ones every place with soup has.

I LOVEIT. I’m a huge fan of bagels. Sometimes the staff can be a little grumpy but overall it’s good. The jalapeño cream cheese is where it’s at. Get a bacon egg and cheese with a side of honey mustard. Sounds strange but worth it. The rosemary and olive oil bagel is good just to nibble on. THEYDONTHAVESPROUTSANYMORE. just a FYI.

Bruegger’s has bagels(pronounced either the correct way or the the way one pronounces it when they have Britta-ed the situation), and bagel sandwiches. They’re okay! They’re not as good as other places in the area. BAGELS!

I normally associate bagels with breakfast and since I’m not over here in the am I wasn’t even sure they would be open the Saturday afternoon we stopped by. My daughter, who is way smarter than I am, told me it was open all day and we most definitely needed to stop in for bagels and naked juice. Who am I to argue? They were very friendly and helpful here and fortunately there wasn’t a line or I would have held it up trying to figure out what to order. There must have been at least a dozen different kinds of bagels, bagel sandwich options, spreads and spreads to go. They had some tempting desserts a nice sit down area where had we not been in a hurry we could have lingered for awhile. It was a nice haven from the hustle and bustle of Eastgate. We got cream cheese to go and some juice and ordered 6 of the wheat and 6 of the cinnamon. It’s been awhile since I have had a real bagel-I maybe take a bite here and there of some thing orb shaped with a hole but it was not anywhere near as good as what they had here. The bagels had chewy and crunch in perfection unified with the cream cheese it was probably the best bagel I’ve had. My daughter has great taste, what can I say? And again-very impressed with the staff. :)

Unfortunately some of the best bagels in the area are from brueggers. The longer you live in the area the more you will enjoy a Brueggers bagel. This review is for the Brueggers bagel on Franklin. The«Goods’ are pretty typical across the bagel chain. The bad is relegated to this location. First the good… they have a very large selection of bagels, cream cheeses, coffee flavors, sandwich flavors, and salad. Everything is fresh and tasty. A bit overpriced for what you get… and they will nickel and dime you… but not sure anywhere else is much cheaper. For the bad… Service and consistency. The employees all seemed like they were doing you a favor and that they had somewhere else to be. As for consistency, our bagel artist barely covered the bagel with the sun-dried tomato spread while her counterpart next to her smeared it on. When we asked her for a bit more, she said that was all she was allowed to do and if she added more, they would probably have to charge more. Yeah, I wasn’t happy. To recap…$ 3.69 for a bagel, sun-dried tomato spread and egg white. Let’s say the bagel is a dollar(it’s what they charge for a single plain bagel), the egg white is $ 1.50, that would leave $ 1.19 for the teaspoon of spread. It doesn’t add up in my book. Whew, I feel better. Overall, YMMV when going to a Brueggers bagel. The food is traditionally good but the service will make or break your visit.

I love Brueggger’s. There — I said it. I love this place. Their bagels are always perfect, the right combination of chewy on the inside and crispy on the outside. And there’s no better coffee than theirs, they stride to have different flavors and even offer ‘seasonal’ brews such as Pumpkin Spice and Coconut. Service is friendly every time I’m there, and the variety of bagels and cream cheese in unmatched by other bagel shops in the area. I’m a fan, and always will be!

I was there at 5:30 am Monday morning and they had opened promptly with smiles on their faces. Plus the bagel and coffee were awesome. Who could ask for more first thing in a Monday morning?

3.5 Smoked Salmon(Breakfast menu): yummy capers, lots of cream cheese, thin slices of salmon, large pieces of tomato, some onions — I could taste the flavors of each ingredient. Really good. Chicken Aioli Melt(Panini): light and fluffy toasted ciabatta bread, garlic aioli(definitely upped the WOW factor by a million), melted cheddar cheese, spring mix — I only asked for a little bit of the aioli(didn’t know what it was, HA) and only two slices of cheddar cheese(as opposed to the 3 that he was going to put). I think if I’d had the normal amount of the aioli and cheddar, then it would’ve been too overpowering. This was just right. One of the servers was rude. My friend asked for the sandwich to be toasted after he’d already wrapped it. Most workers would’ve just done it, but he slowly unwrapped it, saying, «um, well,. I’d have to unwrap this all to toast it. … then wrap it again …» Um, okay. Just do it. So my friend just told him not to.

If you don’t know me by now… let me just say that I can be frugal when it comes to certain things. Two of these things are wi-fi and bagels. Luckily, BBB caters to both of these. It’s ideally located for us at Eastgate — just a hop, skip and jump away from free wi-fi and a hot toasted bagel. Aside from the usual accolades of their stuff, suffice it to say that the bagels here are chewy and less bready than other places which is just the way I like it. I love bagels and while this is no where near to my all time favorite Montréal-style[1] bagel, it does a decent job of satisfying my craving for a chewy style bagel. When you toast them and close your eyes, it’s *almost* like you could be sitting on a side street café on Mont Royal… almost, if you really stretch it. ;-) Regardless, the best thing about this place is searching through that basket bin in the front — come on, you know what i’m talking about! Day old bagels wrapped up in six packs for only $ 2.99. Don’t be ashamed. They’re just as good as the fresh ones… if not better in my opinion. And if you can’t take the shame of «basket bin diving» into the day old bagels, don’t worry… they’ve got $ 5.99 for a dozen fresh ones on Wednesdays too. Typical of the chain, they’ve got sandwiches, salads, coffee, and the usual works here. If you sign up for their newsletter online, I believe you can get a free bagel as well. My one complaint? The free wi-fi is a bit spotty for my first gen touch. Maybe it’s just me… but no worries, your favorite neighborhood Starbucks is just next door and they’ve also got free wi-fi as well! ;-) Overall, a solid bagel worthy of their day olds and more cost effective Wednesday deals.
