A great, old-school, friendly neighborhood barber shop. Only thing missing is the straight-razor finish at the end, but all-in-all, it’s arguably the best place in town to get a basic hair cut. Good location, good prices, and excellent work. The only downside is that there’s often a long wait to get a haircut, so try to go early in the AM or during odd hours to avoid the crowd.

Literally the best haircut you can get in the area. Drew spends an unnecessary amount of time on each of his customers. I have yet to find a place that gives great cuts for such a reasonable price. I’ve also been to friendlys and can say without a doubt chapel hill barber is the place to go!

I found this barber shop right here on Unilocal and decided to try it out. It’s located on the backside of some other businesses so you definitely have to seek it out but it’s well worth it. It’s like stepping into a time machine to go back to the 1950s and walk into a barber shop that was more about a gentlemanly experience vs over hyped atmosphere, free drinks and various other glam. There are only three chairs and the day I went only 2 barbers(a father and son I think). It’s walk ins only and there was a 2 person wait ahead of me so keep that in mind. Also, it’s cash only($ 18) but there is a small ATM in the shop itself(with a $ 3 service fee unfortunately). The quality of my hair cut was great and the conversation was light and friendly. As I mentioned, don’t expect a high end salon experience, this is a simple barber shop that puts substance over style and glamour. This is a great place to stop in for a hair cut and I plan to do so again.

Finally I found a good place to cut my hair. It’s a little pricey for a barber but you’ll get a good haircut. Nice place and good people.

Great barber shop. It’s like a time warp to the 60s(in a really good way) where quality and craftsmanship meet a nostalgic vibe with the décor. Will definitely be returning. I believe it’s a local father/son operation which I like to support. Reasonable price for the quality of service.

Great barbers, reasonable price, and the new location is very pleasant, just across the square from Vimala’s. The owner, Don, has been cutting hair since 1967! A Tarheel favorite.
