Our lunch food was delicious! We were able to choose the degree of spiciness and our dishes were delivered piping hot and just as we expected. My hot and sour soup was chuck full of veggies and came with a separate bowl of crispy noodles. My Thai red curry chicken with rice(medium spiciness) was full of squash, carrots, onions, mushrooms and other herbs and ample enough for me to take home half for supper. My husband chose lunch sushi rolls, cooked eel avocado cut into 6 pieces and raw spicy tuna roll with wasabi and ginger; his came with a green salad. The servers were friendly and efficient, knowledgeable about the dishes. Outstanding service. At 11:30am on a Thursday we found it quiet with TV off, only soft background music. We plan on coming back very soon!

Enjoyed our Pad Thai lunch, the service was very fast and the waiter very accommodating. They are newly opened and the staff very friendly. We will go back soon.

Took over 30 mins to get our soup, which had the crunchy noodles already in the soup. This was unacceptable because I should be able to control if I want the crunchies in my soup. I’ve never been to a restaurant that put the crunchy noodles in your soup and not in a bowl for you to add on your own. The soup(hot and sour) was luck warm and watery. I didn’t eat much of it. I read another review stating it was the best they ever had-I must have had another batch, because it was the worst I ever had. After another 30 mins and 6 apologies for the wait, my 3 children received their food. 13 – 15 dollar entrées came on a big plate with very small portions of sesame chicken. Usually you walk out with leftovers when eating Chinese. Not in this case. Overpriced for the small portion of food. My meal came 5 mins later and was wrong. I’m vegetarian and they put Chicken in my meal. I asked for mixed veggies. My girls finished by the time they brought out my 14 dollar plate of vegetables, and it was a very small serving. They didn’t bother to offer a discount for our wait and trouble. This place will not make it for long. Overpriced, small servings and terrible service. Btw, the food we got was just OK. Not worth trying again. So sad because I’m tired of the other place next to Lowes and wanted better quality.

The food is so bland that if your eyes were covered you wouldn’t know what you were eating. I ordered steak teriyaki. The steak was chewy and tasteless. The sauce was brown, but was very watery. My friend ordered chicken teriyaki, she too said it was tasteless. Our waiter was not trained. He didn’t know who ordered what and then brought us the wrong checks. The restaurant is attractively decorated, but the food is a zero.

We decided to visit Moon Asian Bistro tonight for the first time. Was pleasantly surprised by the interior. Was much larger than expected and the ambiance was nice. I liked having so many choices on the menu. We had spring rolls and miso soup to start. The spring rolls were as expected. My husband ordered the hibachi chicken and I ordered steamed vegetables with garlic sauce. Our order took a long time to fill and the server kept coming back to apologize for the delay. However, he failed to notice on those many trips we were out of water and tea. We had to point it out even though we had moved our cups to the edge of the table. He finally brought out my husband’s food but not mine. He told me they were still fixing mine. His was lukewarm. He brought mine about 5 minutes later and it wasn’t hot as if it just finished cooking. As I was eating I noticed that there was a piece of chicken in mine. I am not vegetarian, I just eat a lot of vegetables, so I didn’t panic over this. But then I recalled that my order didn’t contain the veggies I ordered. It had most of them but they had added carrots and left of the broccoli. Why give me the option to pick my veggies and then not follow what was written down. As we sat there for the almost 2 hours our dinner took we noticed their was a trend in apologizing for the delays. Our server even said to us «it’s not my fault, it’s the kitchen, they messed up your order». Good servers don’t do that. The prices were also higher than expected. I can get the same thing right down the street for less money and it will be hot, tasty, and ready in a reasonable amount of time. Once I get over my disappointment of my first impression and they get more experience, I may give them another try. Like most people, having a variety of choices in the neighborhood is nice.

Visited Moon Asian Bistro for the first time last night. I ordered hot & sour soup and the King Kong roll. My husband ordered Beef & Broccoli with wonton soup, and our girls ordered Hibachi Steak & Fried Rice. The hot & sour soup was the best I’ve had in a long time. Very spicy, nicely sour, with lots of tofu and mushrooms. My husband equally enjoyed his wonton soup. My girls enjoyed their food, especially the fried rice, but were a bit taken aback by the hibachi steak as they were expecting Japanese steakhouse style hibachi steak. Regardless, they ate it and enjoyed it! The sushi was alright, but I think I’d try a different one next time. The only issue was that the service was majorly slow. For example, our soups came out moments after we had ordered them and then not too long after the entrees came. Except for the sushi! As I stated above, by the time it got to the table everyone else had finished their dinners. It also took a while to get drink refills, get the check, and get the card back. Don’t get me wrong, our waitress was super friendly and she was apologetic about the sushi. I think they are still ironing out some kinks in their operation. All in all, solid food and worth checking out! OH, and there was one more ‘issue’…they do not serve sweet tea. Which is not an issue for me as I generally drink water, but my oldest daughter was perturbed by it.

This restaurant has been in the works for months and has finally opened. We went to lunch there today and we’re totally impressed! Rather than the typical strip mall Chinese restaurant with typical décor and typical Chinese take-out food, this is a beautifully decorated, full-service, pPan-Asian place. There is a lovely outdoor seating area but it was too cold and rainy for us to take advantage of it. The menu is fairly extensive, they have a nice sushi bar and the price is very reasonable. We just had the lunch specials(Thai Red Curry and Moon Fried Rice with chicken) since it was a raw, nasty and cold day and we wanted comfort food. The hot-and-sour soup that came with it was absolutely fantastic, the egg rolls were good and the entrees were loaded with fresh vegetables. The whole meal was less than $ 25 with tip. They have some kinks to work out(their payment system gliched out when we went to pay and as of yet they don’t have a website) but we are definitely going back for both lunch and dinner. Be sure to try this place soon.

We checked out Moon Asian Bistro a few days after it opened. Overall, we were pleased with our experience and are happy to have a new dining option in the North Chatham area, especially given the relative dearth of options between Chapel Hill and Pittsboro. The menu ranges from Chinese, to Thai, to Japanese, although we can only speak to the Thai portion of the menu, having ordered the Thai Red Curry Chicken and Drunken Noodles(chicken). We asked for our food to be served a bit spicier than usual, and the heat level was spot-on. The dishes were similar in flavor and quality to others we’ve had in the area(such as Twisted Noodles in CH and Durham). My only real complaint is that the prices are a bit higher than at those restaurants. For example, the drunken noodles with chicken at Moon Asian Bistro sells for $ 13, while the same dish at Twisted Noodles sells for $ 10.95. As for service, our server was friendly, attentive and happy to answer our questions. Our food was served promptly — although the emptiness of the restaurant may have been a factor(on the night we came in, none of the lights were working outside, so many would-be patrons likely assumed that they were closed).

Came on opening weekend. Normally I expect a little chaos because they haven’t found a routine, and it was easy to see they still have a little work to do. Ambience was nice and I was surprised on how big the interior was, I was expecting more of a «hole in the wall» type of restaurant. Service is a little spotty but I attribute a lot of that in that they were new and hadn’t gotten the routine down yet. I was pleasantly surprised in the food. It was seasoned well, hot, and good portions. My wife special ordered beef and broccoli in garlic sauce and it came out to her expectations. I ordered hibachi chicken(one of my bellweather meals, and was hot and the chicken was very good. Coke place, which makes a Southern boy like me happy. We ordered some California sushi just to try it, and while it wasn’t great, it wasn’t bad. All in all I would say that it exceeded my expectations for our first time around; a solid«B» for an area devoid of decent Asian food and I think they will get better(I hope so anyway!) We’ll be back…
