Trust your gut when you approach this farm, because if I had trusted my instincts I wouldn’t be writing about this disturbing incident that took place here. I was not privy to a disturbing article written about this man, and the safety concerns of former employees and parents when I signed my son up for a week of summer camp: My six year old son went missing from the group on the Occoneechee Trail. They did not contact the Park Service to inform them that a child was missing, and no one seemed to noticed until a stranger contacted them that he had my son. I was not notified by Spence or anyone else from the camp that the incident had occurred. No one informed me when I picked him up and signed him out. I learned about him getting lost on the drive home. More disturbing, when I contacted Spence to get the details of the incident, he lied and told me that a park ranger found my son and called him. I later received a call from the gentleman who came across my son alone on the trail, making sure I had been contacted by the camp about the incident. This gentleman was NOT a park ranger… please think for a moment how you would feel receiving this call. When I called Spence to ask why he lied about who found my son his reply, «I thought it would make you feel better, I thought it would make me feel better». Please read the article and decide for yourself, keeping your child’s health and safety in mind. If he’s willing to lie about a park ranger finding your child on the trail,

This is a very good horseback riding center. It is also a very good Summer camp. My daughter enjoyed the Summer camp and cam home worn out everyday. I knew that she’d had a blast. The only reason this is not five stars is because my daughter got spooked on a horse and they didn’t let her get off the horse until she burst into tears.
