The Northside District

I was so excited when I saw the menu for Northside District and couldn’t wait to go for dinner a few weeks ago. We arrived around 8pm on a weekday night, but when we walked in, there was no host and the bartender made no acknowledgment of us. We waited for a few minutes, then asked him if they were serving dinner. He said we could take some menus off the bar and seat ourselves.
Looking at the menu, we decided to order about six different small plates. Unfortunately for us, there were no waiters to take our order. We waited for about 15 minutes (really) until I went up to the bar and asked if I was supposed to order there. The bartender said «Oh yeah, that’s usually how it works.»
All of our plates came at the same time, which to me was very odd at a tapas restaurant. Usually they are staggered so that your food doesn’t get cold, which is what happened to us. Overall the food was good — highlights were the tacos and the pork belly sandwich — but not good enough to compensate for the abysmal service. We might go back in a few months if we hear the service has improved.

My dinner & drink are sooooo tasty! I’m so glad these guys are here in my neighborhood! I love the plantains & adobo chicken tacos paired with a Mescal Mule the atmosphere is warm & the patio is so beautiful. Dare I say the photos don’t do it justice… It’s a cool place with great food & it’s still easy to dive in to eat anytime.

Beautiful space with awsome art, really great staff, and DELICIOUS super affordable food (try a wu-​tang and noodle bowl). And they have a working telephone booth, which is just super neat. Love what they did with the place.

I went to this new restaurant and bar last night with a couple of friends to check it out. The ambiance was perfect, the food was amazing (I was in the market for a light late-​night meal so I got the Adobo Tacos and Mojito Plantains, which, were both AWESOME!) and I have to say– the choice of music was superb. With an excellent selection of drinks and plenty of space to chill with friends (both indoors and out) I’m sure I’ll be a regular! I love the Northside District!!!
