We eat a couple times a month at Catch 22 and have always had great service. Love the ahi tuna salad and crispy flounder as well as shrimp and grits. Fried or broiled seafood is delicious and fresh. Favorite restaurant in Chapin hands down.

Excellent restaurant with delicious local food and caring servers. We ended up there on a Sunday midday by accident – we were looking for a local coffee shop and had to turn around in their parking lot – but it was so busy that we stayed and had a couple of great brunch dishes. Highly recommend the Oysters and Grits. A delicious find.

The she crab soup is some of the best we have ever had. Who knew that in a state where she crab soup is revered, a restaurant in Chapin, SC would have the best! We have had dinner there several times. The flounder was very good too. We have also done Sunday brunch and it was crowded, the food came out fast, it was hot and our server was terrific.

For a small town, it is a nice restaurant. A little pricey. Very friendly staff. Have eaten there several times in the past and you also get plenty to eat. However, the most recent visit we got what they recommended for appetizer. Disappointed… Artichoke and Crab… had a lot of cheese and Artichoke. Was still trying to find the crab when my meal came out. This night, the waitress also recommended house special… I wish I had not gotten it… and gone with my normal broiled seafood option. Husband got Grouper and it was FAIR… had eaten better before. My fish plate was COLD and had to send back to kitchen. They were very apologetic but when returned it was overcooked and when I finally got to eat, there was no seasoning… super bland.

The hubs and I had lunch here recently to use a Dealsaver coupon. I bought it with some trepidation, hoping this was not a Red Lobster-type experience. But I was only in for five bucks, so we took a chance. What a relief! It is in a pretty new-looking building on the main drag in Chapin. The staff was very friendly and the prices were reasonable for seafood. Since we were there for lunch, we both ordered sandwiches. But for only a dollar or two more depending on what you ordered, we could have had a dinner entrée which seemed like a very good deal to me. I had the crab cake sandwich. It was a single crab cake about the size of a quarter pound hamburger patty, served on a ‘brioche’ bun(their description) which was very soft, fresh and tasty. The sandwich also had a fried green tomato, a regular tomato slice(tasteless of course — folks, don’t bother when they’re not in season), some onion and chopped lettuce, and a zingy little remoulade dressing on the side. The sandwiches come with one side(as opposed to the entrees which come with two). I was tempted to try the fries but our server was honest with me and admitted they were frozen/out of a bag, so I went with the cole slaw instead. It was pretty good, large chunks of cabbage with a dressing some might find too sweet. My husband ordered the fried shrimp po boy and said it was good. It was served on a sub roll with lettuce, tomato and onion and the remoulade. The shrimp were pretty fat. He ordered onion rings for his side. They were good sized and had that flaky crisp batter that we both like so much more than that stuff that looks like doughnut batter. Overall I would say this was a pretty good value. The only thing I didn’t love was the décor/atmosphere. Too late, I noticed two very nice outdoor patio spaces that I would try to get in future. The interior décor was so odd. Wood trim/wainscoting ran along the wall about 4 feet off the floor. Above the wood trim the color scheme was perfectly serviceable light and dark grays. Below was a ruby(or garnet??) red, playing off a similar darker tone on the tile floor. Each booth was lit by a cheery red glass pendant light. So far, so good. But the booths were upholstered in a royal blue vinyl. One area had a cheap looking 4 top shoved into a space that wasn’t quite big enough to add another booth. Overall it just kept me wondering what on earth they were going for with that color scheme. I guess if they took over the space from someone else, they were kinda stuck with the most expensive items to replace(blue booths and red tile floor). In any case, I’ve eaten better food in worse-looking places. The décor wouldn’t keep me from coming back. I would like to try their shrimp n grits and also their collards.

First of all, let me say that if Nicole had not been our bartender, this review would have gotten a ZERO! She was friendly, attentive, and professional. I do not regularly write restaurant reviews, but was so humiliated by the manager(she may be the owner, I’m not sure) at this restaurant that I felt the need to let others know. Don’t waste your money in an establishment that does not value your patronage. It is an over-priced pub at best! I had looked forward to my visit as one of my favorite performers, Bil Krauss, was performing there on Friday night. Let me add here that his name is BIL, not BILL, as they put all over their facebook pages – something they should know since he performs there often and the pay him to do so(and there are advertisements all over the place). He deserves at a minimum for them to know his name! But anyways… terrible experience! Some friends and I agreed to meet for dinner and drinks, and watch the performance afterwards. Two of our friends were not coming for dinner, but agreed to meet for the outdoor entertainment after dinner. After having drinks at the bar and then dinner at a table, we moved outside to await our friends and watch the performance. There is very minimal seating there, but we made sure to eat early enough to a get a table outside when the performance began. We selected a four-top table and sat down to order drinks. After sitting for almost 20 minutes, and watching other tables with couples being served their drinks and give their dinner orders, we were completely ignored. Finally, as we discussed what was going on and tried to get service, a lady who I assume to be the manager or owner, came to the table and told us «This table is reserved.» We looked around as there were no other tables available at this point and it was obvious that NO tables were reserved. There was nothing marked reserved and when several groups arrived, it was obvious that they looked around and selected whatever table was available. I might add here that there is minimal seating on the patio anyways. Anyways, she stood there and seemed to be waiting for us to get up and leave!!! My friend indicated that we had really looked forward to watching Bil’s performance and inquired as to what other options were available. She finally reluctantly agreed to find us some«chairs or something»! My friend mentioned that we had other folks coming and would need a table obviously. I was humiliated and will never return! I also want to warn others who might be tempted to visit, in addition to the terrible service and being totally humiliated, there is a strong odor from the sewer or trash dumpster on the back patio – I would not recommend sitting out there after experiencing it. I am sorry to have missed the show, but will not spend more money in an establishment that does not value my patronage. I spent too much money on drinks and dinner to be treated like trash. I do NOT recommend this establishment, most significantly because of the lack of customer service, humiliating experience, as well as the highly unpleasant sewer/trash dumpster odor outside on the patio. It is obvious that they do not value their customers and are very unprofessional. Don’t risk wasting your money!

Went to go see BK play his guitar and sing his songs, had dinner while we there. Food and service were good. Flounder and grits were really good. Mahi was tasty but a little under cooked, collards were outstanding. I’d go back.

The restaurant is quite good compared with others in the Chapin area. Came for lunch. I like the seafood emphasis of the restaurant and menu. Outside of that there is good variety that adds depth to the menu. They have wraps, sandwiches, and a nice variety of appetizers. I ordered the shrimp platter with grits and slaw as my sides. The food was not memorable in either a good or bad way. The grits were good. The shrimp was not bad but not great. The sweet tea was not bad but not as sweet as I prefer. The 3 stars is primarily due to the food. It was decent but not great. I think the overall experience was along the lines of four stars and this place is certainly worth a second visit.
