Salad was fresh, place was clean, waitress was super friendly, only one complaint liver was over done, replaced and was perfect…

It has been a while since visiting this place(don’t travel to Chapmanville that often). Every time I’m here the food is really good. I only wish they would offer the Chicken and Dumplings during the week. The atmosphere is very pleasant and the staff is extremely friendly. I’ve mainly had their sandwiches and they seem sized appropriately for the price. I enjoy the changing desert menu(depends on the cook) as well as the selection of ice cream. It isn’t too difficult to get to the place(not directly off the highway), but there are signs for the place. If you are around the Chapmanville/Logan area, I highly recommend this place over any chain. Also take your time and enjoy the decorations of this wonderful place.

The people and food here are excellent. We enjoyed the chicken and dumplings and the menu had many other delicious options. Desserts were good too… ice cream, blackberry cobbler, and holy cow pie! Their saying is «fast food ain’t good and good food ain’t fast» — that’s the truth. Get off the highway, skip the fast food & chain places, and enjoy a true meal here. Friendly people, great food.

Visited July 2011. 3.5 stars. Good service and home cookin’. I had the chicken and dumplins which were a tad biscuity for my taste(though not full on biscuits which some try to pass off as dumplins — what’s up with that? dumplins aren’t noodles, either) with mashed potatoes and slaw — the sides were my fav part of my meal. The hot roll was very good. My significant otter had the bucket steak with kale and fried onions and cornbread, and he had peach cobbler for dessert — he enjoyed all. Prices are reasonable and the restaurant is nicely decorated. Would make the drive again(about one hour from Charleston) for a Sunday dinner.
