The food was so-so, the chicken in my asian salad was super dry. Pricey and not very good. In addition the guy behind the counter starts spouting his political views — who needs that? Didn’t even apologize when I called him on it to stop. Never going back there. No reason to.

Really great, reasonable, healthy food including vegetarian options. Nice staff and the owner happened to be there with his family. They were so friendly and showed a true interest in our satisfaction. It’s nice and casual and seems very family friendly. All in all, I can’t wait(and won’t wait) to go back!

The only restaurant where I leave feeling feeling well-nourished and great. Many delicious and healthy options on the menu. Wish their portion sizes were a little larger. If you have growing teenage boys or a very healthy appetite, one menu item will not suffice. Happy to have in town.

On one hand, Local’s ambitions are quite limited. A small menu, a few tables. Local’s not trying too hard. It’s just trying to be a local food and ice cream joint. On the other hand, its ambitions are grand. Organic and locally grown food are not easy to find in Northern Westchester. Local serves delicious organic salads, great sandwiches on whole grain Balthazar rolls, and Ronny Brook ice cream. I like Local because it is a relaxed environment with good music, free wifi, helpful low-key staff, and delicious wholesome food. Try the beet salad, the soups, and the goat cheese/honey sandwich. It’s also a good place to drop in/hang out for coffee or tea.

Great food(would be 5 stars, but the food’s a little inconsistent) and great for kids. Edited to say: After reading the former employee’s review about their«work while sick» policy, I’ll admit I’ve stayed away. I have noticed they don’t wear gloves when they prepare or pack food out front(not sure about in the back) and have seen one of the servers seeming sick before. It’s a shame if that review is really true.

Really great vibe, food and good people. One of Chappaqua’s best spots. Good for casual lunch or dinner. Locally grown food, and killer ice cream.

Yummy! I just moved to town and couldn’t be happier with Local. They have fresh food, big portions and great service. It’s a cute, modern, little restaurant with a ramp in the back(I usually have my two little ones in the stroller). It’s one of the best restaurants in Chappaqua. Definitely check them out!

First of all: it is fucking Chappaqua. So yes, everything is approximately 7x the price of a normal city. Oh come on. Ice cream for 9 bucks? Sandwiches for 12? Yes, because we’re rich here(not taking me into this equation though haha) But second of all: it is amazingly amazing. The sandwiches are an A-bomb straight down your esophagus. The ice cream is so good that I wanna melt it just to take a bath in it. I mean it. Since I’m vegetarian I also appreciate that they offer both vegan and vegetarian stuff such as daily(vegan) soups, veggie sandwiches and I think they do vegan ice cream in the summer months. The only annoying thing besides the ridiculously high prices is the fact that they don’t do anything else than drip coffee. No cappuccino, no espresso, nothing. But then again they do soy and almond milk which is pretty satisfying as well. So conclusion: if you live in Chapp, DEFINITELY go there, because you’re super rich anyway and can afford to have your daily lunch there(or order for pick-up to eat in your super fancy villa). Make sure to be there in time, since they only open at 11 and close again at 8(which feels like 5min for me). If you’re from NYC, you don’t necessarily need to take the $ 20 train to Chapp for this place(unless you like multiple orgasms in your mouth from espresso cookie ice cream).

This is one ode Chappaquas best places. If not the best. It is a perfect place to have lunch, sit down, read or grab a coffee. The burrito is amazing, the sandwiches are delicious. And well, the ice cream! This is probably the best ice cream I’ve had in the state of New York. Try some rocky road ice cream and your tummy will be more than pleased. And the staff is great! Always open for a conversation, they are always friendly. And every time you walk in you feel welcomed! So. If ever in Chappaqua. Go visit Local and grab some food!

I am very surprised by these reviews. Local has excellent sandwiches and salads, and their ice cream is some of the best I have ever tasted. On top of that, they are nice every time I go. I give it my highest recommendation.

Good fresh food. Did not like the brisket sandwich, 3 slices of fatty meat, they do not know how to make brisket. Other foods and salads very good. Do not like their ice cream at all, they are advertised as pure but anyone who reads the ingredients of SoCo and Ronneybrook in the groceries knows better, and they do not taste good.

This is definitely one of my favorite places to eat in the area. Even my boyfriend who mocks me for my love of local and organic food had to admit that this place was delicious. Their roast chicken sandwich is absolutely delicious. Their cornbread and chili is probably one of my favorites… I could go on and on, I have never tried anything I didn’t absolutely love. The local ice cream is delicious and the flavors always new and interesting. Every Friday during the school year they have ice cream specials which makes it even harder to say no to their delicious local ice cream.

Thanks to my girlfriend’s predilection for fresh, organic food I’ve tasted my fair share of «local» cuisine. Oddly enough, I’ve never found much issue with the inherent price tag that such tenderly loved and cared for sustenance carried with it. That is. .. until I visited this deplorable establishment. This place is a rip-off. A rip-off of the umpteenth degree. They’re stealing your money. The ol’ ball and chain, a most pleasant and non-militant vegan, was beyond pumped to see such fare in her bo’s hometown. Being a California native, she’s accustomed to frequenting establishments that cater to her every dietary want and need. Well. .. the excitement came to an abrupt halt when the cash register rung up the dubious doom that would ultimately crawl its way out of her wallet. Nearly $ 15 for a bowl of boring greens that would fit into a Little Leaguer’s baseball cap with plenty of room to spare. I was appalled. This is salad, you twits. Just salad. Nothing else. In DC, there lives a restaurant of the name, «Founding Farmers». It’s on 21st and Pennsylvania, I believe. See, they do organic, fresh off the farm as well, making everything on site. I recently ordered a $ 13 Southern Fried Chicken Salad. Best salad, nay, one of the best meals I’ve ever had in my life. It was also adorned with bacon, avocado, lettuce, lettuce, lettuce, sauces, other ingredients I can’t remember, and of course, massive portions of Southern Fried Chicken that I will never forget. It was superb. To compare the two salads would just be inane and foolish. One cannot compare alimentary greatness to turd-soaked cat litter. There’s just no point. I could’ve lived off my Founding Farmer’s salad for three solid days. My GF’s meager, paltry serving was the result of an overpaid jackass throwing his hand into a bag of cabbage and tossing the resulting drab into a plastic bowl. I brought up Founding Farmers for good reason. Washington, DC is one of the wealthiest cities in the country, as well as the world. It’s beautiful in every sense of the word. I received one of the best meals of my life for $ 13 and the ingredients, I can assure, were of the highest order. This was not just a salad, it was a masterpiece embedded unto a bouncing bed of lush, delectable verdancy. Local, on the other hand is in Chappaqua, NY, a renowned hamlet and primo destination for New York City’s elite and aspiring millionaires. They know this. They’re entirely aware of this not-so-subtle fact. They’re ripping you off and smiling in your face about it. Founding Farmers rewards you for eating local whereas Local penalizes you where where it hurts the most. No, not the testicles, the piggy bank. Organic, fresh, local food should not be a luxury. This is how food has been cultivated and prepared for thousands of years. Do not regard this brand of nourishment as out of reach. Anyone can grow it. Local is taking advantage of a contemporary«trend» and exploiting the ever-so-wonderful paradise that is Chappaqua, just because the bank accounts here run a tad deeper than most others. Local, it’s a rip-off, plain and simple. Next time, buy a pack of tomato seeds and save yourself the Benjamins. Maybe they should call it «Import» as the prices would at least make logical sense. Local, f*ck off. Nobody wants you here.

Local is expensive, definitely. The meals are pricey but it’s understandable because I guess the food is organic or locally grown or whatever – I’m okay with that. The ice cream is quite quite expensive though so you might think twice about going there just for ice cream. The food is delicious though and the ice cream is great too.

Just what we needed in Chappaqua! Cozy, cool and casual, «Local» sports a simple menu of delicious fare, and a staff which is always(!) friendly, helpful, and willing to do anything to enhance your experience. Love this place, and plan to stop in with my kids every time we’re in town.

Local is a gem, located right on the main drag. Organic, farm-fresh ingredients. Great sandwiches, cool décor. And kid friendly. Apparently they have good coffee too, but I don’t partake, so I’ll go on trust for that one. My only nit would be the ice cream. Wish it was better. Especially since that’s one of their main offerings. But if they get that right, watch out!
