I’ve been to spoon many times but this time was the best! I got the tuna Tekka Don. I had the best tuna I’ve ever had!!!

I’ve been dining here and ordering takeout since they first opened. My first visit was inspired by my friend’s wonderfully aromatic lunch(I was jealous). Anyway, their variety, overall quality, and food presentation has always been top notch and their customer service is fine as far as I’m concerned. I love their décor– pretty cozy too. Highly recommended.

my favorite sushi restaurant! The wasabi crackers with spicy tuna is awesome, by far the best sushi restaurant in westchester!

The food is good but the management is terrible and discourages loyalty. My husband and I went there frequently for quite some time. Lunch is served until 3PM. We arrived one day at 2:50 for lunch and we were told they were no longer serving lunch. I pointed out that the sign on their door says they serve lunch till 3PM and that it was 2:50. A server told me he knows that but that the kitchen was closed but that if we wanted food to go, they would make it for us. I asked them to make the same food for us to stay and was told they couldn’t do that. I asked for the manager and he was useless. These people are very foolish. We brought dozens of people to this restaurant, all of whom were called and told about this experience. There are many very good sushi restaurants in Westchester and service like that is unacceptable.

Spoon is one of the only restaurants in the Chappaqua/Westchester area that is at the NYC dining level. The service is polite and quick, the Sushi is fresh and well made and designed, and the cooked foods are very tasty. I find most of the restaurants that people recommend in the area to be quite mediocre. The décor at spoon is very well done and attractive and it makes for an enjoyable dinning experience.

I am so sad to have to write this review but I believe it important to share the information and experience. My 14 year old daughter and three friends(4 total) went to Spoon tonight for dinner. Arrived 6:30PM. Staff treated them with disrespect and it is disappointing that they do not respect paying customers. When they sat they were approached by server who gave them water and asked if they were ready to order? they had just sat down and had not even opened the menu. Server then expressed anger that they were not ready and had a bad attitude. After ordering meal was served quickly and correctly but then they were given check which they paid right away. 2 minutes after receiving the receipt, hostess came over and said«we are very busy so can you please leave, we have people waiting!» Wow, I highly doubt they would have treated adults that way? These girls are entitled to be treated with respect. I think people should know this, there are plenty of other Asian restaurants in the area and I would suggest choosing one other than Spoon. Oh and then because there was little room, they had to stand outside waiting for their ride in 30 degree cold weather.

5 years later. Sushi still good but not great. Management changed, and the vibe of the place has changed for the worse.

I just left Spoon with my wife and daughter. First, if you want sushi, do not go to a pan-asian restaurant that doesn’t specialize in sushi only. There’s one nearby that’s better. This sushi, apart from being«sushi expensive» was bland. On top of that, we waited 40 minutes for our order. We were told that call-in orders were first up. We arrived at 730am and people were leaving the restaurant left, right and center. Our food arrived 40 minutes later, and it wasn’t worth it. I actually left the restaurant in disgust to sit in my car in the parking lot and was coaxed back in by my teenage daughter. She said the manager was deeply sorry and offered us a free dessert as compensation. We ate what turned out to be rather bland sushi, and then, no dessert. So we left. Other orders, like Thai or Chinese were flying out of the kitchen to other tables while we waited and eventually ate. Perhaps that was the trick. Don’t order their sushi. I told my wife and daughter I will never, ever return. It was insulting and a waste of time and money. I am a foodie with a wide range of tolerance. This perhaps is my first ever complaint on one of these sites.

I’d been going here regularly ever since they opened, left Chappaqua for a year, came back and the hostess recognized me immediately, greeted me like an old friend. I usually just get sashimi or basic sushi, but when i do try other things, I never regret it. Also the fish is very fresh. I was disappointed upon coming back to find that my favorite appetizer(yellow tail tartar on a bed of seaweed, coated in caviar and topped with a quail egg) was no longer on the menu, but all the same, I was very pleased with the meal, as I always was before. Great place.

I have been very fortunate to have some of the best Chinese food around in San Francisco, so I was understandably wary of trying this type of cuisine in Chappaqua, but I was happily surprised. I ordered several chicken dishes by take out, so I can’t attest as to service or atmosphere in the restaurant, but the food was quite enjoyable.

There couldn’t be a better fusion of flavors and flare combined. Modern yellow panels illuminate the dark furniture and the tuna pizza is their defining piece that sold me before the entrée arrived. Four thumbs up!

If you want to find good Sushi in Chappaqua, go to Takayama. The cooking odors coming from Spoon that permeate the surrounding area are like, well, a greasy Spoon. This doesn’t bode well for whatever is going on inside the kitchen and the inadequate ventilation systems they have in place. Pee-yew Spoon, clean up your act.

Chappaqua finally has good sushi. In the past, I always felt I had to go elsewhere for good sushi, but it has finally arrived in Chappaqua’s little supermarket strip mall. The restaurant endeavors to satisfy the current trend of Asian-fusion, with a rather ambitious menu. Unfortunately, I have been a bit underwhelmed by the main courses in my visits. And while I appreciate the concept of Asian fusion, I cannot necessarily even tell what parts of Asia have inspired many of the dishes.(Ribeye with onion cranberry sauce? Crusted Tilapia with mago salsa?) My other main complaint is that the sushi on the regular menu is a bit overpriced. They do not even have a «sushi dinner» option for 1 person. Instead, they have a chef’s choice, starting at $ 30. Fortunately, the take-out menu is a bit more traditional in its dishes, and with more reasonably priced sushi options.(sushi dinner for $ 20, more common noodle dishes, more identifiable entrees like Vietnamese bbq pork). Perhaps due to the recession, the restaurant has not been filling up. I would consider asking to order from the take-out menu. I don’t understand why the take-out menu is so different than the regular menu.
