Best steak I have ever had. Better than Morton’s, Ruth’s Chris and The Capital Grille put together. Everything from the immaculate inside of the restaurant to the meal itself. The quality of food is unbelievable. My 8 ounce filet was cooked to perfection along with the mushrooms. I honestly cannot say enough about how good my steak was. They bake their own fresh, hot rolls. The crabmeat is outstanding. The shrimp cocktail was ridiculous. Their steaks come from the Chicago Stockyards. The chef John is so incredibly friendly and kind and Mary Jane could not have been sweeter. Milly was fabulous too. It was a night we will not forget. We drove 45 minutes to eat here and it was worth EVERY penny and our time. This place is a true diamond in the rough. Unbelievable!

This place was amazing, I’ve lived in the valley for 60 years and just tried this place, one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. Don’t be intimidated when you pull up to the place, we almost didn’t go in, so glad we did.

This place is a treasure! Absolutely love the crab stuffed mushroom appetizer. The crab is plentiful and in such huge chunks! For the entrée, I always get the filet mignon which is always cooked just right and comes out literally sizzling. The side of sautéed mushrooms is a must — they’re so buttery and rich; the perfect side to the steak. It starts with a fresh salad of crisp mixed greens and fresh tomatoes and cucumbers; the house dressing is great. Even the rolls here are delicious! I’ve also tried the sautéed orange roughy. Perfectly flaky and wonderfully seasoned. The servers are always so sweet and helpful. This place is a must when I am in town!

Very very good! I am not a steak person and this was the best steak I have ever had! The mushrooms and potato sides were amazing! Way better than Morton’s! Owners are sweet and service slow but it’s a nice experience!

The Maples in Charleroi PA is by far my favorite restaurant. The staff are the nicest people you could ever ask for. They make you feel like family and that to me means just as much as having amazing food. The quality of the food at The Maples is top notch. The crab stuffed mushrooms have the most amazing taste and I still can not find any other restaurant to compare. The jumbo shrimp were so fresh it felt as if they were right from the ocean to my plate. The filet by far is the best steak you will ever have in your life. I have been to The Capital Grill, Morton’s, Ruth Chris, The Georgetown, and numerous other places. None can come close to comparing to the perfectly cooked, seasoned and flavor of the Filet at The Maples. I drive over and hour each month just for this experience and it is completely worth it. The Maples is a small family owned business with a giant heart. If you want amazing food at a great price then the drive is completely worth it. Very highly recommended.

Step back in time, here in this small town of Charleroi. I kid you not when I say it was one of the best steaks I have eaten. The owners, Mr and Mrs Umble took care of us the entire night. Great service, love the odd vintage ambiance… And really, the food is top notch. You pay for what you get. Love love love!

The Maples has been around since the 30’s and my parents have started recently going there. My parents kept telling me how they have the best steaks they’ve ever had. Sure, I’m a skeptic. I’ve eaten steak at a lot of places… some good, some bad, some fantastic. I’m going to put The Maples’ steak up there with fantastic. Sure, it’s a little on the pricey side, but most steak joints charge you only for the steak and all of the sides are extra. The price included the steak, salad, and side of choice(potato, veggie, pasta). The steak is served on a searing hot platter with a side of butter. My steak was juicy enough that it didn’t need the butter. I always order my steak ‘medium’ — I think the steak comes out about medium-rare and finishes cooking on the platter. It’s so hot, the butter was bubbling! Everything is homemade and the staff is eager to please. The chef stopped at our table to ask about our meals and to introduce himself. So, you don’t have to go into the city to find a good steak. You can actually find one in the Mon Valley. Who knew?!
