Aldi

I have no idea why this is in Charles Town but I’m not complaining! Cheap, clean, efficient, and a nice selection!

We come to Charles Town from time-​to-​time and include ALDI as one of our stops to pick up all the basics. Prices are cheapest anywhere. Quality is very good, too.

My husband and I finally investigated Aldi and we are SO GLAD we did! I agree with the Unilocaler in Frederick who said: «What did I ever do without Aldi?» We can get 2 weeks worth of groceries here for the same price we paid for one week or less’ worth of groceries at Food Lion, Walmart, Weis or Safeway. The store is spotless, the cashiers are wonderfully nice and the fresh veggies and meat are at amazing prices.
Don’t think that you won’t find your regular brands here either. I picked up recently Hershey’s chocolate chips and Boca Burgers. Likewise, I discovered new brands like their strawberry probiotic yoghurt and their fresh salsa is amazing.
The best part is their commitment to the environment. To keep costs low and encourage less waste, customers are encouraged to bring your own reusable bags. However, if you don’t and have to use their bags: they are all recyclable plastic and made from recycled plastic. Overall, that’s the kind of attitude I like to see in a big chain store!
