Worst people I have ever dealt with. I put a deposit on 204 Marie Dr. contingent on it being done by 10 November. I called a couple weeks ago and Mr. Pekar said his helper threw his back out so it’ll be done on the 10th at the latest. He said he was positive about that. Last week I schedule water, Comcast, and the movers(military move) to come in on the 10th to get everything straight. I go to the office(which they never get in before 0900) and he said it was not ready yet. He never bothered to call me in advance. I said I was going to have to go somewhere else. He told his wife to write me a check. I said that if we could move in, they could work around us and we wouldn’t mind that. So we went to the house and nothing was hardly done. Then the movers came, but after that, we started noticing rat droppings, rust in the bath tub, grime and rust on the sink, the stove was a mess and hardly working, house smelled of urine. After all of these factors, me and my girlfriend decided this isn’t a place for our newborn baby to grow up. So I told Mr. Pekar that we changed our mind and we’re moving out. He said that’s fine and we’d get our deposit back as soon as we move our stuff out. So now I had to get a uhaul to get all of our things and then loaded it up ourselves with no help from the Pekars. Mrs. Pekar just sat and watched. Mr. Pekar started yelling at my dad saying we were on a water line when we parked the truck in the yard. My dad said according to code it should be 2 feet in the ground and that we would be good. Mr. Pekar started mouthing off to my dad. When we packed everything up, I asked Mrs. Pekar for my deposit back and she said she’d have to talk to the owners. I asked why and she said we held them up because they were trying to get the house ready. I said they needed to get the house ready anyway so we weren’t holding them up. She asked how much I wanted back and I said I wanted all of it. She laughed and said she’d have to talk to the owners. I said this was ridiculous and asked if this is how they want to run their businesses. Is this how they want to treat a veteran? We’ll see what the court says because we have pictures.
