Captain Mike is excellent and thrilled my kids and me with many sharp nose sharks and one four foot hammerhead that my kids will talk about well into their 80’s. He took care of all equipment, bait, and his boat was just right for our group. We will hire him again next year … My kids cannot wait.

My wife and I went out for a 3 hour fishing adventure with Captain Mike and we thoroughly enjoyed our time on the water.
Captain Mike picked us up at a convenient location from our hotel and took us directly to a hot spot. Within minutes of fishing my wife landed a very nice shark… which she had never caught before… she was delighted. We continued to land some additional sharks and then we landed a very nice 36″ Red fish.
Captain Mike has a very nice boat and high quality fishing equipment. He was able to customize our fishing experience to what was most important to us… catching some good sized fish with minimal down time… mission accomplished!

I just recently spent a wonderful day on the Charleston harbor with captain Mike. I have been on several offshore/​deep sea fishing trips and the serious nature and intensity of those experiences sometimes trumps the fun. The fishing with Avid Anglers was incredibly enjoyable and my group caught close to 40 fish! Our trip started out trolling for «dinner» fish in between the historic backdrops of fort Sumter and fort Moultrie. Once we had acquired enough whiting, flounder, and Black Sea bass it was off to the jetties (mouth of the harbor) for larger, sportier fish. We soon started seeing our lines filled with red drum and even a few sharks. One more thing I would like to point out about captain Mike is his vast knowledge and great respect for sea life. One of the passengers on our trip was deeply sensitive to any unnecessary suffering our catch might have experienced. Captain Mike was quick to dispatch any keepers and very gentle with any releases. In closing I would be proud to recommend Avid Anglers to anyone looking to catch a boat load of fish or just interested in having a casual day on the water. Thanks again captain Mike!
