I’m a Vermont native, so anytime that I can swing by to get some ice cream from the boys, I’m happy to do so. I still enjoy the other ice cream /gelato café’s around Charleston, but there’s just something about Ben & Jerry’s that draws me in. I picked up the kids from school and being that it was a nice day out, and they had a good day in school, they asked me nicely if we could grab a treat, and so we found a parking spot and walked down Market St to this location. I had to walk by several other sweet treat locations to get here, so the fact that the kids didn’t get distracted by any other snack store says a lot about their desire to come to Ben & Jerry’s. We ordered the classics; cookies n sweet cream and chocolate chip cookie dough. I also ordered a Razz Mango smoothie which I was very pleased with. Service was quick and friendly(we were the only people there) and the interior was clean and welcoming. Had we chosen to stay and eat out treats there, seating was provided in a nice little courtyard in the back. Pints are also available for those who need more than a cone or a dish, and their selection of shakes is tempting as well.

Ice cream to cool you down on a hot day. Like many other things in this area, it is overpriced for what you get. $ 6 plus tax for a «large» cone or cup. I would hate to see what a «small» looks like.

I couldn’t resist being first to review, how did that happen– it’s a B&J’s in a busy downtown street across the City market? Nonetheless, I made a special trip to visit this location because when we were at Isle of Palms and had our four small orders(two scoops) of creamy goodness(my poisons of choice were Cherry Garcia and Coffee Buzz x3), we saw handsome servers wearing spiffy looking tees that said«I like to Spoon» and had to have one for my fellow B&J’s loving daughter, for her Charleston memorabilia. This was the closest location and was far bigger than the other one, with more cute merch to choose from, which I did. Checked into Unilocal and scored a 20% off discount. Great service, well-stocked, friendly crowd, beautiful town, what more could a sweet-tooth tourist want?
