I gotta say, I’ve always loved puzzles and riddles. So an escape room is something I’ve wanted to do for a while. I didn’t know what to expect, was it going to be too corny and simple, or would it be too hard. Well. It was just about perfect. We made it to the last clue but just couldn’t get it in time. You start in a room, and then, well then you start trying to find clues, jeys, numbers, anything to help unlock doors. It’s so much much for a group of freinds or family to go to. The maximum number of people in each game is 8, which we found to be just a bit to many for the size of the game. 6 would be best we thought afterwards, but we had such a great time we will definitely be going back to try the prison break room, and are looking forward to the Bank Heist room once it’s complete! If you’re looking for a fun activity to do that requires finding clues, using logic, and getting up off that couch I’d highly recommend it! You get 60 mins to escape! Good luck!

I had been wanting to try an escape game for awhile so I was super excited when Break Out offered a half-off deal on Groupon for their recently opened spot in West Ashley. They are currently offering an Escape from Death Row room and a Serial Killer room(a bank heist one should be ready in a few weeks). We opted for the Death Row room. Each room has a max of 8 participants so if you don’t want to be joined by others, you will have to book the entire room. There were 4 in our group(including fellow Unilocaler Meg T.) and we were joined by another group of four. Once you are in the room, the time starts ticking and you have to get to work figuring out stuff… I’m not going to give away any spoilers though… you are going to have to go for yourself and see how it all plays out! We had a great time and I definitely want to go back to do the Serial Killer room and the Bank Heist room(when it is ready).

Fellow Unilocaler Erika W and I bought a Groupon to try this for 50% off, and we went tonight with our husbands. We were greeted by the owner with beers and a few instructions. We chose the Death Row experience and were locked in their«jail» for an hour to try and get out with 2 other couples. I don’t want to give too much away so I’ll just say that we looked for clues all over and unlocked different rooms. I’m happy to report that we finished with 7 to spare and had a blast. Obviously, we can’t go back and do the same one since it will be the same next time, but we look forward to trying another one of their puzzles!

These games were very well thought out and challenging. There was a good«flow» to the room so you weren’t left trying to figure out what the next step was, only how to solve the problem in order to get to the next step. The lobby area was big and welcoming with ample parking. We played the serial killer room, I don’t personally enjoy gory themed rooms but I am willing to forgive some fake blood for the cleverness of the puzzles.

This was the best time! We went as group of six to try the«escape from death row» room. None of us had ever done anything like this before and really didn’t know what to expect. We had so much fun working together to find and solve the clues. Made it out with some time to spare. I can’t wait to go back and try a different room!

This was the first escape game my fiancé and I had ever done, and had been wanting to try one for a few months. We had no idea what to expect, and we were paired with another couple who also booked the time that we did. I think the rooms can book up to 8 at a time, and I’d recommend going with a larger group of friends, as many of the puzzles/clues will be less challenging the more minds you have in the mix. That being said, we almost got out with a few hints, but were about 2 minutes over the time limit. We had to work hard and fast to try to figure out a variety of number, geography and logic puzzles which were all unique and well thought out. It was fun to do something different and hands on for a change instead of mind-numbing movies or TV. I’d definitely recommend coming here or their Myrtle Beach location.
