Love the little app biscuits. The breakfast pepper bacon is spicy enough but the best part is they make it crispy. The wait is a pain and I would love it if they had a place to sit and eat.

This was a great experience for me and my wife. Not only did I win the breakfast with the Golden Ticket but it was a gorgeous day and I had had plenty of Mojitos the night before. So I can’t think f anything that would help me get back to 100% again and this really did. I got 2 specials(Egg, Sausage, and Cheese, and Bacon, Egg, and cheese) and 2 Hot little bisquits with Black berry jelly, and 2 Iced Mint Tea, and 2 cookies and cream sandwiches. I cannot speak on price and I do find the cost up there but if I were visiting town I would hate to miss this place. What a great story of entrepreneurship and really, really tasty. I did get Pimento Cheese on mine and I love pimento cheese and this is great. Do not be tempted to pick these things up. First mistake. Use a fork and knife and take your time to not lose any of this precious southern delicacy. The staff was very friendly and I was surprised at how fast we got out order. Line out the door but we got lucky and got 2 seats in the smallest eatery in town. Everyone should experience it. Apparently many do. And I am glad I did!

Five stars all day for this cozy, narrow bakery that feels like I just walked into my grandma’s kitchen. The biscuits are crispy brown on the outside and chewy moist on the inside. All of the ingredients just amplify an already amazing biscuit creation. You won’t regret your visit! Street parking but the meter doesn’t run until after 9am so arrive early! I ordered the Monday special that the as egg, bacon, and cheese($ 6.95) because the pimento special sold out in the first hour. Who doesn’t want breakfast in every bite? I have to admit it was hard to wrap my mouth around. After some mouth yoga I was was able to get a few bites in without looking like a bozo. My wife ordered the three of any kind($ 5) and picked the cinnamon, country ham, and blackberry. The biscuits are so mouth watering even without crazy toppings like mine had. The flavor is absorbed by your tastebuds like you’re taste testing in a Willy Wanka factory.

Come here for a quick snack or full meal. This place is definitely unique and you won’t find a place like this in the Northeast.

This place is tiny and extremely expensive. My wife and I got 2 breakfast sandwiches and it was around $ 18-$ 19. Quality was ok, but definitely didn’t support the price. Service was ok, but definitely don’t plan on sitting down to enjoy your food, it’s seriously tiny inside. I love to support local businesses, but I won’t be back and won’t recommend it to friends.

LOVE love love this place. Expect to wait, but it’s worth it. I recommend going with one of the specials, although the individual biscuits are pretty great, too. I had the sausage, egg, and cheese biscuit and a blackberry one, and I ate every bite even though I definitely didn’t need to. Can’t wait to go back.

I am usually skeptical about places that get a lot of hype(especially restaurants that receive Food Network-type hype), but Callie’s Hot Little Biscuit more than lives up to the hype. We stopped in for some sustenance on a cold and blustery morning and got the blackberry biscuits– a pair of moist, buttery, delicious biscuits filled with amazing blackberry jam. They were so good that just writing about them makes me want to eat them again, We will definitely be back, and soon. For sure I need to check into the hot pimiento cheese. This is definitely a small place, so plan on getting your food to go or heading there at an odd time or just bring your patience.

3.75 Before we get started, yes: I know how obnoxious the star rating is. Thing is, I can’t commit to 4 full stars but there’s enough going for Callie’s to make it worth more than 3.5. If I were from somewhere else in the country, the star rating would have come easier. But, as a southerner, I just can’t, cannot, can not bear dry biscuits. And, I am sorry to write, my biscuit was dry. I tried to make it work. I tried to talk myself out of it. I tried to distract myself by concentrating on all the great things going on in the store. At the end of the day, however, a southerner bought a dry biscuit from a southern store. It’s problematic. Let me back up. There’s a lot to like at Callie’s. To start off with, it’s in a fantastic location that tourist and local alike is sure to enjoy. The store doesn’t try to be more than it is and focuses squarely on biscuits. It’s small so make sure to get here at an off-peak time or prepare to wait. And if you come here, please, have some idea of what you want. As stated earlier, it’s small and folks in line(me!) don’t have time for you to wait to decide what you want(here’s a clue: a biscuit!). Since the ladies before me took a fortnight to decide that they wanted a biscuit at a biscuit shop, I had plenty of time to go over my order. I took one sausage, cheese & egg biscuit and a peaches & cream for dessertfast. The plates(to-go) were made to order so I waited a bit more for them but that was fine with me. I will wait for fresh food any day. I took my cartons and off I went. I decided to eat my food back at the hotel because it was close, I had plenty of room to eat there and, for some reason, other restaurants had an issue with me eating food from somewhere else while at their establishment. Upon opening my savory carton, I was pleased to note how good the biscuit smelled. Again, the freshness of the sausage,(pimento) cheese and egg were without dispute. I bit in and… well, the proteins tasted great but… can it be? Is the biscuit dry? I took another bite. Yep. Definitely dry. As in, ‘I need something to drink — stat!’ dry. I was disappointed. A non-southerner might not get it but biscuits are serious business and if we’re engaged in the act of eating biscuits not prepared by an older woman of our bloodline they’d best be on point with every bite. This wasn’t. Had I been eating the biscuit alone, I would have been really disappointed. The dish was saved by the proteins. Disappointed or not, I had a sweet biscuit to devour. Unfortunately, it was the same situation. The biscuit was dry(a wee bit dusty, if I am being honest) but the toppings(peaches.and.cream) were fresh, delicious and very enjoyable. At another establishment, I would have given a pass to dishes saved by the add-ons. But at a biscuit shop, the biscuit needs to be the star. It wasn’t here.

On our last day in Charleston, SC, we stopped at Callie’s for some food to fill us before we hit the road and boy, we were NOT disappointed! First, let me say, I loved this store front. Although it is tiny, the place was packed with lovely décor that just makes you feel at home and ready to eat some biscuits! I am quite happy we went there early as the place was already busy. The ladies working the counter were very friendly and helpful as there’s a lot of pressure on us to make good choices for our last meal in Charleston. ;) I went with a bacon, egg and cheese biscuit with avocado and a coffee. We found a spot luckily at the counter in the corner which was surprising because the place was packed. The biscuit was delicious. The texture was fluffy and moist. I wish we didn’t wait for the last day to check out this place. Before leaving, we got the lemon poppy biscuits to go. I wish I got a 2nd box to go! This place is a great place to try if you are ever in the area! I will definitely have to come back!

This spot is awesome! We stopped by here on our way out of town for one last gluttonous delight, and we weren’t disappointed. The staff was so friendly, the spot so adorable. They sell some souvenirs and both store-brand and other local products. We each ordered a breakfast biscuit. They come with an egg(mine fried, his scrambled), Pimiento cheese(both mild, not spicy), and a protein(sausage for me, bacon for bae). The fried egg ended up being a little messy, and overall it wasn’t super easy to eat(falling apart, etc) but the flavors were on point! Just for fun, we ordered 3 biscuits to go, but stupidly forgot to get some butter to spread on them! Rookie mistake! We ate those on the car ride on the way to the airport because it had been about 20 minutes since we had last eaten a biscuit and it was too long! This place rocks and definitely stop by if you find yourself on upper king street, or if you haven’t had a biscuit in more than 20 minutes!

How cool is this place? I’ve never seen a biscuit shop anywhere in the world before. Hats off to these guys… they have an amazing product. Places like this really put Charleston on the foodie map and their biscuits are delicious. It comes in an order of two and is flaky buttery goodness. Might be good to see a skinny or whole wheat option for those of us looking out for our waistlines.

We had read about Callies hot little biscuit about six months before we actually experienced it. We are very good home cooks and being raised in the south, have had plenty of wonderful biscuits in our lifetimes. I actually make very good biscuits myself. Not only that, I have cooked Callies biscuit recipe several months ago. When I made them my husband and I both thought they were OK, not as good as my usual biscuit recipe. We both thought that perhaps she has fresher ingredients or a different technique and therefore her a biscuit at her shop would be otherworldly — or if not otherworldly at least better than what I had made. We just happen to be downtown and parked our car near Callies. We have been reading the wonderful reviews of the biscuits online and the standard line out the door was only two or three people deep so we decided to give it a go. Just so you know, once you get inside the door there are at least 15 people in line in front of you and the restaurant is about two people wide so it is crowded. If you’ve read reviews, you know that is not news. My husband and I ordered the three biscuits for five dollars. We stood in line for about 30 minutes chatting it up with the interesting people that we met in line. When we finally got our biscuits, we realized that when I had made them at home, I had done exactly what they do in the restaurant. We each ate one biscuit because we were hungry and we threw the third one away. The biscuits are every bit as tall as you have seen in pictures. That is the problem. Anyone can make a tall biscuit. The trick is when you make a tall biscuit — do you get it cooked all the way through? The answer for this restaurant is no. The biscuit was beautiful, Brown, and very crumbly, but when we took our first bites we both thought the middle of the biscuit was extremely doughy. It was not uncooked, just doughy. I guess because of the great reviews people will continue standing in line for this biscuit but as for me and my husband, we know how to make a good biscuit at home and that is what we will do from now on

Tender biscuit, fresh egg cooked to perfection and crisp bacon. The biscuit had great structure, not to flaky, dense but still light. Second Biscuit smothered in gravy… End of story. Worth a plot to figure out when there is no line . Take out was a good option.

Still great every time we return to Charleston! Ordered 3 small cinnamon — which always means 2 for here 1 to go. Fiancé had the bacon egg and cheese on a biscuit. Only crumbs left on his plate. They’ve got more retail products from the South now which is neat. Great place to buy a souvenir to bring back home.

Right off the bat, no one will like this review. Went there for Sunday brunch. Very small place. The menu looked great, biscuits any way you want them. Just a few chairs and a line. So, I said to my wife this aught to be good. Well, can you say ‘closet’? I got to the counter, asked if there was seating, the very nice girl said no! How do I eat my biscuit from a dish, and coffee in my hand? So, I left. Can you blame me? Ok, if you just want a coffee to go, might be OK. But, how would you eat a dripping Biscuit to go? This is the only reason I gave it one star, just not practical, too, too small. Maybe it’s me, but I like to sit for a nice Sunday Brunch. Frank G

Oh. My. Biscuit. This was such an amazing find! The word«biscuit» in the UK means something completely different. If you order a biscuit in the UK, you’ll either get a cookie or a cracker… and a weird look if you order a cracker. These, though. These are a perfect example of a southern biscuit. A nice slightly crusty, crunchy crust outside, and lovely and fluffy inside. The come in pairs, which is something I’m very good with. Lots of nice, happy things come in pairs. Shoes, earrings, me and my mister. :) We ordered a pair of buttermilk and a pair of cheese and chive. We both tried one of each, and got some butter, house made blackberry jam, chives, cheese and pimento cheese to try. I didn’t realise that pimento cheese was a big thing in the south, but it is, and Callie’s did a great job making it. They sell a bunch of varied items inside, and we bought some cheese biscuits(the British cracker variety), and a kit to make buttermilk biscuits at home. We are looking forward to making these… I just hope they turn out as delicious as they were in house.

This was my first time. I came, I saw, I Callie’d, and I regret it. Growing up in the south, I know biscuits and sweet potato pie. Sweet potato pie, biscuits, greens, grits, the list goes on: I know how these things like the back of my brown hand. Ive had every variation imaginable across multiple generations, so there are always substitutes, but all of them still meet a standard. A very critical southern goodness standard. First let me say, I feel like a complete ass paying $ 7 for an egg and cheese biscuit. I walk in within half an hour after opening, and the young lady behind the counter is really cool and sweet. She points me to the specials board, and then describes the nubs that are the 3 for $ 5 deal. I ended up just getting an egg and cheese biscuit that is the same price as the the meat, egg and cheese biscuit. I reluctantly hand over my debit card, as my logical self was having a serious battle within. Head to my car and open up the box. FIRST – they use shredded cheese(with the option for pimento cheese that I do not like), and its all over the place, most of it missing the biscuit. It is the chunky shredded sharp tasting cheese. Second, the top half of the biscuit is stiff, borderline, stale. It pick it up and it is kind of hard breaking and crumbling into little bits easily. UGHHHHH. The bottom half of the biscuit is thick and ‘better’ than the top half, as it is not nearly as stiff. I bite into it, and it breaks a part all over the place. It doesnt have that buttery, soft, slightly dense and pure tasty awesomeness that good biscuits have. It just doesnt. If i cant eat it plain plain, its not a good biscuit. I can drop at least 5 chains that have better biscuits than this. Places that give me biscuit fantasies. I like the atmosphere. Its quick and comfortable, someplace I would definitely enjoy sitting for a spell in the morning to eat breakfast, but I wont be visiting this joint again. Cause seriously folks, coupled with the quality/taste – $ 7 for any egg and cheese biscuit is straight madness.

+ all made in house, fresh! + fun, unique flavors + good coffee — crowded, long lines — items seemed small for the price — one bar table seating, VERY tiny place with little to no ventilation Literally how I felt was«A-OK». came here due to reviews and hype and while the flavors were fun and delicious, each pair of biscuit will run you $ 3 – 4 depending if you want toppings before tax/tip and you cannot mix flavors without buying a separate pair. They also have breakfast items like egg and sausage to make it into a «biscuit sandwich» but I didn’t realize you then only get ONE biscuit… granted that its larger, but for $ 7, my mind just kept wondering how many egg Mcmuffins I could’ve gotten. On a positive note, all the food was fresh and gave me that warm and fuzzy feeling of being in the south. I wished there was an option to drizzle gravy on a plain biscuit without adding anything… I ended up pouring some of their new flavored syrup they were giving out for sampling over my «biscuit and ham» pair and it was a delicious blend of sweet and savory! Basically: stop in if you’re near and have a little time to wait in line, but no need to come running around town for it.

Awesome location, great taste and selection of biscuit items, good value, and fast service. The server can be friendlier and attentive but what can you really expect from a takeout place? There’s a couple of stools in there but it gets really packed from people ordering takeout. Not a place to dine. I got the pimento cheese(fiery) sandwich on a biscuit and that was amazing!!! $ 5 The biscuits were huge, creamy, and soft. It had a lot of flavor on it’s own. Wish I got to try the others because they all look delicious!
