Started bad from the get go. Messed our reservation up and used the excuse that they are still learning how to take reservations. Overall, it took 2.5 hours to receive food and a good 15 – 20 lead to get a drink after ordering. Even after the 2.5 hour wait one of our party’s meals was incorrect and had to be sent back.

This was my go to place when visiting my daughter at college, but last night was terrible. The waitress was very attentive, but after an hour the food still had not come out of the kitchen. Others seated around us had the same problem. We had to leave and never got our food.
We just ran in to someone we were chatting with at lunch at a different establishment, and they came where we are because they waited for their food at Dirty’s for over an hour this afternoon. Please fix it! I love this place when the food I order actually comes out of the kitchen.

All the food seems to be handmade here. We got sampler for appetizer, the fried portobello mushrooms are to die for. They have an amazing selection of sauces, garlic parm is amazing. Their burgers were worth the wait, nice and juicy. We lived their homemade waffle potato chips! Get some sauces to dip them in! I’m sure we’ll be back, even being several hours from home!

Waited over an hour and never received our food. When I complained, I was told I didn’t know how to tell time and that it had not been as long as we claimed it was. You are going to argue with an irate customer, Dirty? I can only recommend to masochists.

Down to move son in for 2015 school year at EIU. 45 minutes after placing order, asked where food was. Was told order was lost by kitchen and resubmitted. 30 minutes later, finally got food. Food was middling to poor. Cold sandwiches, Little ice in the drinks.
Way understaffed for such a day that we visited. Wait staff inexperienced and don’t seem to care about customer service. Management did not even visit tables to see if everything was OK, much less compensate for lost order. Management should also have known that the business would be heavy on a move-​in day at the local university.
Serving sizes on the small side. 4 slices of corned beef on a Rueben???
I’ve experienced MUCH better and WILL NOT be visiting again.

Nice place to stop for lunch. I don’t know what kind of drinks they serve because I was just having iced tea while I was on the road.
I had a shrimp Cesar salad. It was grilled shrimp with a good portion size and a ton of lettuce.
At the start the service was a bit slow. I did violate the please wait to be seated rule when I went and sat at the bar. Once the servers recognize that I had not been helped they picked up the pace and brought me everything quickly. The bar was fairly crowded for the middle of the day and it looks like a lot of regulars eat lunch there. Bathrooms and bar itself are clean and the Decour is kind of cute. I love the name and if I’m driving through I will stop again.

Nice selection of food and drinks. We had the cheese sticks for an appetizer and they were fried with wontons! I had the chicken pineapple flatbread and it was delicious (like a perfect albino pizza). Ask for Chaney if you go there for excellent service. Danny took good care of us at the bar.

Outstanding food and service. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and friendly! Great relaxed atmosphere. The burgers are amazing… Fresh ground ribeye with tons of flavor. Recommend the Yum Yum Burger and the «Stud» it’s a must! Will eat here when ever in Charleston.

I had high expectations, unfortunately they were not met. We ordered our burgers medium rare and everyone was cooked until they were leather. There wasn’t enough ketchup in the town to bring moisture back to the hockey pucks. Last trip ever to Dirty’s ever!

The service here is not great. Someone who seemed like the manager was pacing the restaurant (we were there at 9, the place claimed to be open until 1) and closing the curtains, making it seem like he wanted the people eating to hurry up so he could close. The food is average, I liked my burger but the chips that came with it were tasteless. The drink I got was pretty good. I would recommend making the drive to Buffalo Wild Wings or Stadium Grill. Better food and service. Won’t be back.

A great place for sandwiches and drinks. I’ve eaten there twice and have enjoyed both times. Service was okay the first time, the second time much better. Its just a nice casual place to relax and grab a bite. I will be back. And their chips are yummy. Forget the fries!

All three times I’ve eaten at/​gotten takeout from Dirty’s, it hasn’t really wowed me.
The Pretty Good: The fried pickle slices were above average, with dried dill in the breading and a nice ranch dressing for dipping. Good potato chips with the sandwiches.
The Mediocre: Tomato bisque is flavorful and served piping hot, but could use less cream. The Big Bird sandwich could have used more seasoning, but was tasty with the Yum Yum Sauce (a tangier, runnier version of the Big Mac sauce). Get extra of the Yum Yum sauce for dipping fries/​chips/​fingers in. Sit-​down service is not great, but I’ve gotten takeout and they’re generally polite on the front end of things.
The Bad: The waffle fries are greasy. The Mushroom and Swiss burger was not seasoned at all. The Mahi Mahi Sandwich was overcooked.
It’s not all that easy to find a good «Burger, Etc.» joint in Charleston. The Brick House (bar area, not the restaurant) does a better job at what Dirty’s is trying to do.

I can’t review the food or drinks here, because we didn’t get that far. After asking to see our out of state IDs, the bartender reported that they looked suspicious and took them back «to the manager.» We waited for probably 15 min, without drinks. The bartender then informed us that they were «looking them up,» and that if the IDs were deemed fake, they would be confiscated. When I suggested that this was ridiculous (I am 32), and that it was not ok for her to confiscate our licenses, she begrudgingly gave them back, saying she had canceled the investigation. By this point we had had ample time to inspect the menu and decided that the uninspired tap selection and sorority-​girl drink list weren’t worth any more effort.

The one star rating is for the poor service. The waitress took our order. After 45 minutes she came back to our table and said there was a computer problem and the kitchen had just started preparing our order. They brought our order twenty minutes later. The food was good.

One of the main staples of the eastern illinois campus, also one of the few sit down restaurant/​bars, at least that I know of, but it’s good, their martini menu is pretty extensive and diverse, there’s a lot that I wanted to try, not as many beer choices as I would have liked but I was able to find ones that I liked, as for food I’ve just had apps, the flatbread is ok, the quesadillas are really good, super big too, the calamari was good tho it came with a lot of crumbs, and the nachos were solid and you got a lot

Lazy staff. Just visited Dirtys and wanted to sit on their patio. We were told by the hostess that patio was full and it was closing soon. Very interesting as when we drove by there you could see open tables. I’ve also had drinks at dirtys before and were out in the patio till at least 10 pm. The kicker is we drove by an hour later and there were still people on the patio. I. don’t appreciated being lied to by the staff. Stop bring lazy college students and learn customer service!

Came here on a Sunday night for a quick bite to discover that they had $ 2 margaritas. Um, yes thank you! It was made more sour than sweet, which I liked – big fan. The BBQ chicken flatbread was alright, nothing too special. However, the service was prompt and accommodating – I asked for some hot sauce and they brought me their own homemade concoction, which was excellent. They even gave me a to-​go cup so I could enjoy the rest of it at home. A nice place with a great martini selection that I wish I could’ve enjoyed more of.
