Dudley’s

The atmosphere is exciting and great but a couple of the bartenders have been quite rude to a few of my friends, myself and others ive noticed. Very disappointed in the staff (especially the bartender in blue glases)

We visited this place on our first night in Charleston and loved it! We stayed for just a drink, but that was long enough to enjoy the fun and nice crowd, plus some pretty great karaōke stars!
The bartender was also very nice and helped me decide on a drink to mix with a shot of fireball. My partner got a Moscow mule and it was incredibly good.
I’d definitely go back!

Not many gay bars in Charleston but this one is awesome. The bartenders are friendly. The owner creates events weekly so they will get a consistent crowd going in there.
Its in the middle of everything so you can enjoy all the people watching from their out doors seating and enjoy a cold one.

I was told that there were only 2 gay bars in Charleston and Dudley’s was one of them. Whaaaa? Only TWO gay bars? Since we were meeting up with a couple that lives in Charleston, they suggested Dudley’s because one of them is friends with the drag queen emcee and that the show is on Thursday nights. HELL YES WE ARE IN!
The details on this joint are a bit sketchy for me as I had technically been drinking for much of the afternoon/​evening before arriving. The place was PACKED OUT awaiting the show. Beers were cold and didn’t seem to be expensive, but you almost need to order 2 at a time just to not have to hit up the bar in the crowd of people. Bathrooms are unisex but the boys told me… um…just go to the one on the left. So that’s the one I used. The crowd was friendly, they are welcoming to all people, so I had a fun time.
The drag show was festive — super campy and she includes the crowd quite a bit. They had various drag queen characters come up and even a lesbian doing a little comedy. It was totally a good time.
If you’ve never been to see a drag show, give this one a try on Thursday nights. Or just come in here to hang out on any night regardless of if you are gay or straight — everyone is welcome to have a good time at Dudley’s.
