Hollings Cancer Center

First of all the people are very polite and helpful. The main problem I have experienced is the LONGGGGG waits to see the doctor. Your told to be there well before your scheduled appointment, yet you still wait, wait, wait. One time we were seated in the exam room and it was 1 ½ hours before anyone came in. After a 2 hour drive to get there I don’t want to wait like this. If I have a scheduled appointment I want to be seen at that time if I took the time to be there on time.
Seems there is a lack of concern about Cancer patients sitting for such long periods of time (4 hours round trip and usually 3 to 4 hours before finished waiting), for the doctor to spend 5 minutes. Do not understand.
Other than this complaint over all a place I do respect.

Caring people that go out of their way for you. Multiple levels of support, to include but not limited to, chemotherapy and radiation. One of the top facilities in the country.
We have been working with Dr Shirai and Dr Coaker for Oncology, Dr Sharma for Radiation, and Dr Lentsch/​Dr Day-​ENT. The nursing staff (Stacy-​Oncology, Kim-​Radiation, Jennifer-​ENT) have made this difficult time easier. Empathy and general effort above that of their peers is constant and overwhelming. While in the hospital, all doctors and some nurses from the different sections came to see us.
Dr Shirai is an amazing Oncologist who is thinking outside the box with our situation. This is the Dr you want to see if you have Cancer.

All the people I came across at this Facility were very professional and extremely helpful.
